Prologue
In the floods, two years ago, Littlebird lost everything.
Two of her kits were swallowed by the storm and found derived of warmth, small eyes glazed over in death. Her mate, Stonetail, was swept away by the current, body never found.
To this, Littlebird wept heavily as a grieving mother and mate. For days on end, she would huddle in Skyclan's leader's den, under the comfort and reassurance of Hawkstar, her father. Some criticised her for this behaviour. Some simply claimed that her small body and glass heart couldn't gather the strength to find love and so she had given up.
Stormkit, ironically named, was the only surviving kit of Littlebird. When he was born, his mother was complimented on his resemblance to Stonetail and his glowing emerald eyes. From birth he hulked over his siblings, shoulders already set confidently and muscles building by the day.
The poor tom-kit was only three months old when Littlebird left Skyclan in the cover of the night. From there onwards, Amberstorm, who had recently resided to the nursery with her kits, looked after Stormkit like her own.
No one knew exactly where Littlebird went off to, but she came back. Her pelt smelled of Twolegs and her breath was tinged with a strange scent. Not only that, but she didn't come back alone.
The morning that she arrived back at Skyclan camp, Littlebird held a kit in her jaws and an apologetic look in her eyes. Overcome with happiness that his daughter had arrived 'home', Hawkstar listened hazily to her excuses and silenced any objections.
Though objections silenced, complaints were not.
The kit whom she brought back was treasured by Littlebird, even more than Stormcloud, who was now a warrior. Leafhover and Raintrickle, twins of gossip, loved to sneak rumours into conversations, no matter how much it hurt the cat of subject.
Unfortunately, the subject of the whole clan's conversation was Stormcloud.
"The poor kit," Raintrickle muttered, barely holding back a snicker, "father dead and abandoned so cruelly by his mother."
Leafhover flicked her tail at her brother, "Shush, brother. Be careful he doesn't hear!"
Perhaps he did hear.
No cat would be surprised if he heard it all.
In fact, what surprised them the most was Stormcloud's sudden declaration of love for a certain golden tabby. Beestripe was the average warrior and the two had been seen voluntarily patrolling together. However, they were seen as nothing but a portrayal of a healthy relationship with each other as fellow clan-mates. This was solely based on the fact that Leafhover was Beestripe's mother.
The day that they came out to the rest of the clan, Raintrickle fumed silently with disapproval as Leafhover fidgeted guiltily and edged away from her brother. She seemed secretly pleased that her daughter had taken on such a strong, handsome mate.
Not long after, Beestripe took to the nursery with Stormcloud's kits and in a few months, Honeykit, Stonekit and Cloudykit were running around camp.

Hi Readers!
That was just a quick little setting of place and scene so you roughly knew what you were getting into.
Some character history was snuck in there and you were introduced with some main names that you might hear a lot from now on forwards. You might be able to guess which cats are the main characters from just that Prologue!
Who knows?
Either way, I'm not entirely consistent on Warrior Cats updates so be sure to be tuned if I suddenly drop a new chapter on you!
