~Rebels~

"Get back here you two! You are breaking rule of section 3...." Laughter filled the air before a voice cuts off the angry guard.
"Rule 27.041, Section 3, paragraph 5. Ye must all attend thy meetings and executions and so forth... Ugh Boring," The voice says behind the group of guard. The guards swerves around to notices the two targets they were after, sat casually on the top of a pile of crates. One of them had a book in hand, the other had an apple.

"You two! Don't make fun of the laws!" another one of the guards yell.
"Blah, blah blah, blah blah. Thy laws must be followed or ye will be arrested. Cause I'm the big bad Dark. Look at me! I control Zinare now and I have everyone wrapped around my tiny little finger. "I say as my partner and I walked out of the shadows that hid us.

"Isn't it a bit late for you guys to be chasing us? What is the bounty now? 20,000 ques? "My partner says mockingly as we walk forward in perfect sync. The guards immediately take a step back. We now stood on the edge of the crates, looking down on the guards.

"Twin Rebels, Blaze and Rip. Bounties 40,000 ques....." My partner cut him off.

"You hear that? 40,000 ques. I should just hand you over and run. "He says with a laugh.
The main guards face light up with anger.

"You two are under the arrest of the federal Darken police for breaking 42 different laws! " The leader of the guards, who we had named Dimble, tells us. I jump down off the stack of crates and begin walking towards the guards, Blaze doing the same. The guards kept their distance the same. With every step forward, they took one backwards.

"Hey Rip! Do you feel like you have been arrested?" Blaze says to me. I look over to 'Dimble' and shake my head.
"Nah. Don't feel like it. And only 42 laws? We must need to work harder," I reply, smirking as I came to a halt.
"Well, sadly for you, we have permission from above to take you in to custody by any means. " Dimble says as he begins to twirl his hand, a swirl of black mist appearing in his hands.

"Well, looks like we are out of luck today rip. Guess we should just give up. We can't beat darken vudoo." Blaze says and he lifts his hands and places them behind his head.
"I guess so Blaze. " I say, catching on to his plan and smiled, following his lead. As soon as Dimble smirked at us and moved closer, we brought our hands down, revealing two guns.

"Kaboom!" Blaze says to the guards, smirking a a shot went off, hitting the stone ground, leaving a small crater behind.
"Well, maybe they should check us for weapons before saying we are under arrest next time Rip." I say and we begin dodging the balls of darkness that are now being shot at us.

As soon as either of us saw a gap, our guns would go off. They were specially formulated ones, made to shock the body on contact, stunning the opponent into unconsciousness or they could hit things with a very high electrical current. If there was one thing we didn't like doing, it would be killing. Everyone had someone waiting for them and we believed it would be unfair on them to kill someone and leave someone else in pain and sorrow.

Blaze dodged as two chains were shot out at his ankles and jumped on top of the crates behind us. I jumped up behind him as two chains attempted to grab my ankles. As the attacks continue, Blaze and I are being pushed back, bit by bit. Blaze and I quickly placed our guns back in their holsters on our backs and ran up the wall next to us. Once at the top, we waved at the guards, who were still shooting at where we had been. Blaze whistles loudly at the Guards, making them stop firing and look around for us. Once they spot us up on the wall, they scramble to come after us.

Laughing like we always did, Blaze and I sprinted off along the top of the wall. This is where we lost the guards every time. They all wore think armour and the wall wasn't very wide, making it hard for them to keep up with us. We knew how to run along the wall and where all our traps were along it. Blaze bent down and grabbed something from the side of the wall. He jumped over me, landing on a platform above the wall. I grabbed something too and jumped up after him. The guards we unaware of this platform so, like always, we caught them by surprise and made them run the other way.

Once out of sight, Blaze and I jumped off the platform, walking along the wall for a while. We sat on the side on the wall for a
While, before the sun started to set.
"Best seats in the house," Blaze says cheekily as I hand him half a loaf of bread from my bag.

"You got that right. Now eat up. The next patrol sweep is going to happen shortly and we can't be caught out here. "I tell him, before hungrily digging into the bread. Blaze did the same.

As the clock struck 8, Blaze and I got up and ran to the nearby clock tower. We jumped off the wall and onto the platform around the clock tower. Blaze found the switch and a small section of the wall moved in, revealing a passageway. Quickly, I checked around for anyone, before my brother and I went into the passage and the wall went back in place. Blaze and I laughed as we entered into the middle of the clock tower. The only way into the actually clock head was a ladder on the side. The middle was mainly concrete and bricks, so it stopped anyone from finding our place here by accident. The only way in was the passageway and only Blaze and I knew how to open it.

I opened the door in front of me, revealing the place we called the fortress. Why was is called the fortress? Because it was made of the strongest material on Zinare. Master metal. Only a master could break through it and it kept everyone who we didn't know out. The walls were a shiny golden colour, with a midnight blue floor. Furniture of silver colour, sat around the room. There were silver curtains hung up on the left side, representing our bedroom. On the right were also blue curtains that was where the bathroom was. On the far side of the room was red curtains. That was the kitchen and finally, there was the golden curtains that camouflaged into the walls around it, which hung at the very back of the room. That was called the sanctum. That was where we worked, planned and where most of our weapons were stored.

As we walked in, we both slide off our black jackets and hung them up on the clothes hangers near the door. Our masks came off next and we placed them in the basket next to our jackets.

"Another plan accomplished. Good job Rip." Blaze said to me. I nodded at him and smiled.

"Yes. Another plan completed. You did well today Blaze. It was a job well done, "I told him and rubbed the top of his head. He suck his tongue out at me, then laughed.

If you saw us how we were now, you would know us by the names Makoto and Mashiro. Twins of a kind. We were mechanics and worked at the base of the clock tower. We were some of the best in town according to the town's people. No one knew what we did most of the time. Who we were and how we always stirred trouble with the Darkens every other day. No one even knew we lived up here. Most thought we lived outside the walls as no one knew exactly where we lived.

Blaze was my younger twin brother. He was like me in every way, except his personality. While we were both smart asses, he was always tactical about everything, thinking how we could use different things in the future. Unlike him, I was more stealth and silent. The physical commander. He was the brains and I was the beauty. I'm joking...... maybe.

But there was one thing that was completely different about both of us. We had small markings on the back of our shoulder. For him, it was a red marking on his left shoulder. For me it was a blue mark on my right shoulder.

Neither of us weren't very old, just sixteen years old. We both had jet black hair, pearl green eyes and sun-kissed skin. We usually always wore a brown leather jacket, dark blue tops, and goggles upon our heads, brown pants and black combats. We always carried around weapons and a bag containing our set of clothes for when we are Blaze and Rip, our masks and a couple of other things in case we ever had to run suddenly.

"Did you see Dimble's face? He was like you two are under arrest and we were like, don't feel like it. He looked as if he was ready to kill us. "Blaze says to me as he walked across the massive room to the silver curtains on the other side of the room. He kicked off his boots and put them at the end of his bed. I smiled at his words as I walked over to the sanctum.

"They certainly are getting desperate to capture us. " I comment in reply. He nods as I pull the curtain open and walk inside the sanctum. I pull a small black curtain out of the way to reveal the map of Zinare. I marked the stop they had followed us to today and sighed.

"We are probably going to have to move on again. I know we haven't been staying put much. But they are getting closer to us and we can't stay here. There are many more house like this around Zinare. We might need to head west." I tell my brother as he walks towards me. He walks over to the map and grabs his stencilling stuff. He then turned back to the table behind us and starts sketching out another plan like he always did.

"Two days. That is when the festival is. We should be able to get out then. Like last time, the guards will surround here," He says as he places crosses on all the places the guards are.
"And there will be guards at all the gates. We will need to exit using one of the tunnels from the base of the shop. We will use W17. That should take up to here," he draw a circle in blue around an old country house in the border.

"How about from there we go north and head towards Deaman? It is a smaller town, but it was well known for masters. We have had no luck here and we need to find someone who can help us. "I suggest and circle Deaman in green. My brother nods.

"Sounds good. I'll work on the map for us to take. You should finish up the weapon and pack them. We will store the bags above the shop in the chest and take them out on our way out. "He says to me. I nod and head to the other side of the sanctum and continue to work on the weapons I had been making.

While Blaze drew brilliant plans and maps, I was the mechanic. I did all the construction usually, with some help from Blaze. Most of the weapons were stunners as I called them. They would stun the opponent on contact. That was exactly what I wanted. Some of the weapons were made for if we had to defend ourselves to keep our lives. I specialized best in swords, rods, nun-chucks, guns and bombs.

I was one of the best mechanics in the city because of my ability to hide and camouflage weapons into everyday clothes. If you were to look at Blaze and I, you wouldn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But if you got into a fight with either of us, you would find more than you would expect.

I slipped a metal cuff onto my wrist and hand, before flicking a switch and a mini cannon gun came out of it. Aiming at the metal wall in front of me, I shot three electric balls out of it, each causing a small dent on the metal, before it moulded back to normal. I smiled as I hadn't been successful this a cannon gun yet and to finally make it work was awesome. I heard clapping behind me and span around to see my brother smiling at me.

"You did it! I'm so happy for you!" he told me. My smile grew and I thanked him. I carefully slide the metal cuff off my wrists and placed it back in its box. Blaze smiled at me once more, before going back to his sketching. I knew he was doing another map, so I left him to it.

Time passed and the pair of us worked in silence. It was silent with the exception of a curse word here or there from me when something didn't work properly. It was getting late when I heard something whirling and beep.

"Hold on. I'll be back Blaze. I have something to take care of. I'll be back shortly. "I tell my brother. I look over my shoulder at Blaze when he didn't answer to see him fast asleep. Carefully, I moved his equipment from his hands and picked him up. I slowly walked over to our bedroom and placed him down on his bed. I got a cloth quickly and wiped his face, which has some charcoal on it from when his face was on the desk. Grabbing a pen and paper, I wrote a quick note, telling my brother I would be back shortly and had some errands to run. And with that, I left my brother sleeping as I crept back out into the world before me.

I silently made my way down to the shop and unlocked the door. I walked inside and shut the door after me, making sure to lock it. I pulled my metal cuff out and placed it on the table to make it seem like I was working on it. Instead of actually doing that I fished around the chest in the roof until I found what I was looking for. Smiling, I grabbed it, did what I needed to, placed some weapons in the chest and closed it before heading towards the hole.

I went back down to the shop when I saw the cuff had been moved. I scanned the room and found someone was watching me carefully. Making it seem like I was leaving, I grabbed my keys and headed towards the door. As soon as I heard a footstep, I turned around, gun pointed at the person who now stood in front of me. I sighed when I saw it was only Blaze.

"Shiro! What the hell? "I exclaim at him angrily as I put the cuff back in its box. I blinked a couple of times. It was so strange to call my brother by his nickname. I always called him Blaze, but now that we were in public, I had to call him by his name. I never liked to though. Blaze suited him a hundred times better.

"I heard you leave and I saw the note. I guessed you had come down here and I wanted to make sure you were okay. Don't yell at me Mako,' He replies. I shake my head, hoping he didn't see me.

"What were you doing up in the chest?" He asks. I let out the breath I had held in.
"I was putting some of the weapons in it for later. " I tell him. I wasn't lying either. I really had put weapons up there.
"Well, if you say so. Oh, we will need to leave tomorrow night. The banquet has been moved to then, so I will need to move than. "He tells me. I smile at my brother.

"Mashiro, you will be the death of me one day with your smart thinking. " I tell him as we lock up and head up the street towards the wall. I looked up at the sky, wondering what we should do next.
"I'm going to sleep on the roof tonight," I tell him. Shiro nods than smiles.
"I will too. I don't want you being by yourself for now that the guard have doubled, "Shiro tells me. I smile at him.
"Smart thinking. Then the roof it is. I brought a blanket and pillows in my bag. We can head up there now. The midnight round just finished." My brother looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"The clock hasn't g.... "The clock chimed through the city. Shiro glares at me.
"Know it all. " Shiro mutters. I laugh as we make our way up to the side of the ladder. I smile at him.

"Want to see my new one?" I ask. Shiro smiles widely. Pulling open my bag, I grab two small guns and hand one to Shiro. We both shot it up, aiming for the first platform, half way up the clock tower. A grappling hook shoots out and zooms upwards, before hooking onto the platform. "Hold on Shiro." I tell him before we zoom through the sky as we go up. We land perfectly on the side of the tower. Putting the guns away, I began to climb up the side of the ladder on the side of the clock head. Once on the roof, I helped Shiro up before walking over to the platform we had up here. It was an old watch tower and I spent most nights studying the stars. Astronomy was one of the things I liked the most. I set up the pillow and blanket on the ground and laid down, staring at the stars.

"Goodnight Mako. I'll see you in the *yawns* morning. "Shiro says as he yawns and begins to fall asleep. I smile slightly and whisper goodnight to him.

Looking at the stars, I sighed to myself. A single star shot across the sky, making me think to myself. "If only life was this peaceful once more. I promise I will protect you Shiro. That is the one promise I will not break. It's the only thing I still have of him. I'll always protect you, even if it means hiding the truth."
