"Your grandfather called last night and told me to let you know he's bringing you and Aurora back something special from Prague" Emily said.

"Wow Prague how amazing is it that he's going to Prague" Rory said. "It's supposed to be lovely very dramatic castles everywhere" Emily said.

"The cell that vaclay Havel was held in is now a hastal you can stay there for like $50 a night hey maybe on our trip to Europe we could stay in his cell" Rory said.

"Sure, why not I always wanted to be haunted" Aurora said sarcastically.

"Absolutely then we should go to Turkey and stay in that place from midnight express" Lorelei said sarcastically.

"Lorelei what are you doing" Emily asked. "Getting rid of the avocado" Lorelei said.

"Since when do you not like avocado" Emily asked. "Since the day I said gross what is this and you said avocado Rora doesn't like it either" Lorelei said.

"I'm focusing on you and Aurora now" Emily told Rory. "Tell me all about the Chilton Formal next week" Emily said.

"There's a formal" Lorelei asked. "Wait how do you know about the formal grandma" Aurora asked. "Yeah, how do you know about the formal" Lorelei asked.

"I read my Chilton newsletter" Emily told Lorelei. "Since when do you get a Chilton newsletter" Lorelei asked.

"Well as a major contributor to Rory's education I figured I had the right to ask for a newsletter to be sent to my house since I never got the opportunity to help with Aurora's" Emily said and got up grabbing her newsletter.

"Are you serious" Lorelei said. "And it's a good thing too since you don't read yours one of us should be up to date on Rory and Aurora's school" Emily said going back to Lorelei, Rory, and Aurora.

"Hey mom I read my newsletter" Lorelei said. "You did" Emily asked.

"That's right" Lorelei said. "What was the picture on the cover" Emily asked. "It was a picture of a really rich kid in plaid" Lorelei said.

Emily turned around the newsletter and shown Lorelei. "It was a spotted owl" Emily said. "In plaid" Lorelei said.

"The owls are endangered, and Chilton is taking donations to help them" Emily said and sat down putting the newsletter down.

"You and Aurora gave a very nice one in case you're interested" Emily told Rory.

"Mom don't be giving donations on Rory and Rora's behalf I'll do that" Lorelei said. "How can you do that when you don't bother to read the newsletter" Emily asked.

"I read the newsletter" Lorelei said. "You didn't know they were taking donations" Emily said.

"It's a private school they're always taking donations they teach a class in it I'll get them next time" Lorelei said.

"Well, what about the owls" Emily asked. "They'll live" Lorelei said.

"Well apparently they won't that's why they needed donations in the first place" Emily said.

"So, you have a formal coming up" Lorelei said to Rory and Aurora. "Yeah, but I don't think I'm gonna go" Rory said. "Nonsense of course you're going" Emily said.

"Mom if Rory doesn't wanna go she doesn't have to go" Lorelei said. "Well, I don't understand why she wouldn't wanna go" Emily said.

"I know you don't" Lorelei said. "I'm gonna go get another coke" Rory said leaving. "Wait your leaving me here with them coward" Aurora said yelling the last part.

"Aurora, are you going" Emily asked her. "Um yeah I'm going with Tristian as friends" Aurora told her.

"You know I'm gonna go see if Rory needs help" Aurora said quickly leaving.

"Why didn't you mention the dance" Lorelei asked Rory. "Cause I'm not going" Rory said.

"And you Rora" Lorelei said. "I don't know I guess it slipped my mind" Aurora said. "Oh" Lorelei said. "But why aren't you going" Lorelei asked Rory.

"Because I hate dances Rora's the one who loves them remember" Rory said. "Good answer" Lorelei said.

"Except you've never actually been to a dance" Lorelei added.

"So" Rory said. "So, you've really got nothing to compare it to" Lorelei said. "No but I can imagine it" Rory said.

"That's true however not really since you've never actually been to one, you're basting all your dance opinions on one midnight viewing of sixteen candles" Lorelei said.

"So" Rory said. "What mom is trying to say is you should have a decent reason for hating something before you really decide you hate it" Aurora said.

"Trust me I'll hate it it'll be stuffy and boring, and the music will suck and since none of the kids like me I'll be standing in the back listening to 98 degrees watching Tristan and Paris argue over which one of them gets to make me miserable first while Rora tries to break them up" Rory said.

"Hey as long as I'm there they won't mess with you I'll make sure of it come in Rory it could be all sparkly and exciting and you'll be standing on the dance floor listening to Tom Weights with some great looking guy staring at you so hard I mean that's how it was for me" Aurora told Rory.

"What guy" Rory asked. "I don't know maybe the guy who hangs out in our trees all day waiting for you to come home" Lorelei said.

"Dean does not hang out in trees" Rory said. "Yes, he does" Aurora said. "He bashed, his head on a branch last week when I came out of the house too quickly" Lorelei said.

"Why do you care all of a sudden if I go" Rory asked.

"I don't care if you go, I just don't want you to miss any experience because you're too afraid" Lorelei said. "I'm afraid of what" Rory asked.

"Asking Dean to the dance, him saying no, going to a school with kids who have yet to accept you, dancing in public, finding out you should never dance in public shall I go on" Aurora said.

"Okay, okay I get it" Rory said. "Listen I know you're not miss party girl and I love you for that and Aurora who only likes school dances but sometimes I wonder" Lorelei said.

"Do you not join in because you really don't want to or because you're too shy" Lorelei asked.

"If the reason you don't wanna go is because you really don't wanna go and not because you're in any way afraid then this is the last time, I'll mention it I promise" Lorelei said.

"I don't have a dress" Rory said. "I could make you one" Lorelei said. "Really" Rory said.

"Oh yeah we could get some great shoes and some new earrings maybe Aurora could lend you some of her makeup we could get your hair done" Lorelei said.

"You won't think I'm an idiot" Rory said. "It depends on what hairstyle you choose this dance could be great for you" Lorelei said.

"I really think you'll love it especially with Dean" Aurora said.

"So do I get to know what dress you're wearing" Tristian asked Aurora. "Why do you even wanna know I'm not even your date I'm just your best friend tagging along" Aurora said.

"Would you just tell me" Tristian asked. "Hm I rather not" Aurora said. "You are plain evil" Tristian said causing Aurora to laugh.

"I know" Aurora said and Tristian smiled at her. "Is your sister going" Tristian asked.

"I think so and be nice it's her first dance" Aurora said.

"Ugh the things I do for you" Tristian said and Aurora smiled. "I'll do my best" Tristian said. "Thank you" Aurora said and Tristian smiled at her.

"Come on already" Lorelei said. "I'm primping" Rory said. "You're sixteen you have skin like a baby's butt there's nothing to primp" Lorelei said as Aurora made her way to Lorelei.

"Tristian's on his way" Aurora said. "Okay wow look at you, you look beautiful" Lorelei said and as she looked at Aurora, she saw herself in her at that very moment. "Thanks mom" Aurora said.

"Okay, okay here I come" Rory said and walked in the room. "Wow someone hit you with a pretty stick" Lorelei said to Rory.

"I think this is your best work yet mom" Aurora said. "Thanks sweetie" Lorelei said to Aurora.

"This dress is amazing you outdid yourself" Rory said. "It's beautiful baby you look beautiful" Lorelei said. "Come here" Lorelei told Rory.

"What" Rory said. "Stray hair" Lorelei said as Rory made her way to Lorelei. "Fix please" Rory said and Lorelei fixed Rory's hair. "I think my favorite part is the shoes" Lorelei said.

"The heels hurt" Rory said. "Yeah, they will" Aurora said. "Beauty is pain" Lorelei said. "I'll just throw them on, on my way out" Rory said.

"You should put them on now and let your feet get really numb" Lorelei said. "Thats sick" Rory said. "Go get me the hair spray" Lorelei said and Rory left while the doorbell rang.

"You care if I stay at Luke's after the dance for the night" Aurora asked Lorelei.

"No sweetie go ahead have fun" Lorelei said. "It's open" Lorelei said. "It's me" Sookie said and walked in. "I got tacos" Sookie said.

"Yay" Lorelei said. "I got extra hot sauce and a couple of extra burritos you put in the fridge in case you get hungry later" Sookie said. "You take such good care of me" Lorelei said.

Sookie looked at Aurora and smiled. "Oh, my you look beautiful I wouldn't be surprised if you came home with a paparazzi" Sookie said.

"Thanks, oh look at Rory mom did amazing" Aurora said once Rory walked in and Sookie looked.

"Oh my god you're a movie star I'm serious oh my at some point tonight walk down a flight of stairs movie stars always walk down staircases" Sookie said.

"Okay come on let me spray while you figure out what she just said" Lorelei told Rory.

"You don't move I got it" Sookie soss and went to spray only to spray her eye. "Sookie" Lorelei said.

"Wrong way I got it" Sookie said. "Are you okay" Aurora asked. "Yeah, sweetie hand that to your mother and my eyelashes are stuck together" Sookie said as Rory went to Lorelei.

"Honey are you sure you're alright" Lorelei asked. "I'm fine" Sookie said. "Shield the tacos" Lorelei told Rory.

Aurora grabbed the tacos and put them under the table. "Okay ready" Lorelei said and sprayed Rory's hair.

"God" Rory said. "Okay that'll be good for six slow dances four medium ones one lambada if you plan on doing any moshing, I suggest another coat" Lorelei said. "I think I'm good" Rory said.

"Rory, Rora is this soap by the sink in the silver bottle" Sookie asked. "No" Aurora said.

"Whoops" Sookie said. "Go in there quick both of you" Lorelei said and Rory and Aurora went in the kitchen.

The doorbell then rang. "We're in here" Lorelei said. "We're in here" Emily said walking in.

"That's how you answer the door" Emily asked. "Well, I was all out of Saran Wrap" Lorelei said. "I don't even want to figure that one out I just want to see my granddaughters" Emily said.

"Where are they" Emily asked putting her bag down. "Kitchen" Lorelei said.

"Oh, perfect I want to be ready for the big entrance" Emily said taking off her coat. "How's the light in here" Emily asked.

"Never mind I'll just take one with the flash and one without to make sure we've got it right" Emily said.

"Wow mom, look at you, you'd think Ann Taylor was having a sale or something" Lorelei said.

"Okay Rory, Aurora come in here please" Emily said and they walked in with them eating a taco.

"Hey grandma" Rory said. "They have lived with you for too long" Emily told Lorelei. "Oh, yay photos" Aurora said sarcastically.

"Girls lose the bib and the taco Rory put your shoes on and come back out, let grandma take the pretty picture" Lorelei said and the twins went back on the kitchen.

"I'm gonna get going" Sookie said walking in the living room. "You are not driving" Lorelei said. "I walked" Sookie said.

"It was nice to see you again Mrs. Gilmore or at least make out your shape" Sookie told Emily.

"Call me in fifteen minutes or I'm sending out a search party" Lorelei said. "You call me if I need to come over and help you up the stairs or something" Sookie said.

"No, I'll be fine" Lorelei said. "Okay bye" Sookie said. "Why would you need help up the stairs" Emily asked.

"No reason" Lorelei said. "Rory, Rora let's go your public awaits" Lorelei said. "Why aren't you moving" Emily asked. "I'm comfortable that's all" Lorelei said.

"Are you hurt" Emily asked. "I have a little back spasm that's it it's no big deal" Lorelei said.

"What sort of back spasm" Emily asked. "I don't know mom just a normal one" Lorelei said as Emily moved to sit next to her.

"There's nothing normal about a back spasm from the very fact that it has spasm means it is not normal" Emily said.

"Alright here they are mom get your camera moving" Lorelei said seeing Rory and Aurora coming. "What" Emily said and looked.

"Oh, my you both are gorgeous" Emily said and took a picture.

"Smile" Emily said moving to another chair. Aurora and Rory smiled as Emily took the picture. "I'm so glad you decided to buy Rory a dress" Emily said.

"That's Dean" Rory said and was about to leave when Lorelei stopped her. "Hey come here" Lorelei said.

"Have an amazing time" Lorelei said once Rory hugged her. "I'll chronicle the whole evening for you I promise" Rory said. "See you there Rora" Rory told Aurora.

"Bye" Aurora said. "Bye grandma" Rory said and was about to leave when Emily stopped her.

"Where are you going" Emily asked Rory. "To the dance" Rory said. "You do not go running out the door when a boy honks" Emily said. "Mom it's fine" Lorelei said.

"It certainly is not fine this is not a drive through she is not fried chicken" Emily said.

"But I told him to honk, and I'd meet him out there we agreed" Rory said.

"I don't care what you told him if he wants to take you out, he will walk up to this door and knock and say good evening and come inside for a moment like any civilized human being would do" Emily said.

"Now mom this is silly I have met him already" Lorelei said. "Well, I haven't" Emily said. "Yeah but" Lorelei said.

"We will wait until he comes to the door" Emily said. "He doesn't know he's supposed to" Rory said. "He'll figure it out" Emily said and Aurora got a text as she looked.

"Tristian's here bye" Aurora said and gave Lorelei a kiss on the cheek before walking to the door.

"Aurora get back here that goes for you to get back here Aurora" Emily said and Aurora left.

Aurora and Tristian were dancing at the dance when Aurora happened to notice Rory and Dean.

"I'll be right back, get me something to drink please" Aurora told Tristian. "Yeah, I got it" Tristian said. "Thanks, you're the best" Aurora said going to Rory while Tristian went to the drinks.

"Hey, you guys made it" Aurora said smiling. "We bout never got away from grandma" Rory said.

"Thought so" Aurora said. "Dean, take care of my sister okay" Aurora told him. "No worries" Dean said.

"Well, I'll leave you two lovebirds be if you need me, I'll be with Tristian" Aurora said and left.

A slow song suddenly came on and Tristian looked at Aurora. "What" Aurora said.

"Slow song wanna dance" Tristian asked offering his hand. Aurora shook her head smiling at him before taking his hand.

Tristian led them to the dance floor, and they started dancing.

As they were dancing Tristian couldn't help but look at Aurora like she was the only person in the room.

"You sure he's here" Tristian asked as he parked at Luke's. "He has an office upstairs that he turned into an apartment he's here" Aurora said.

"Does he know you're here" Tristian asked. "Yeah, he knows I called him when I was looking for you, he's in the kitchen waiting for me" Aurora said.

"Okay well night" Tristian said. "Night" Aurora said and walked up to the diner and went inside.

As soon as Tristian was sure she was inside he drove off heading home.
