"Dinner was lovely Emily" Richard said. "Mira does make a perfect Cassoulet" Emily said.

"Who's Mira" Lorelei asked. "Our cook" Emily said. "I thought the cook was Heidi" Lorelei said.

"Oh no we let Heidi go months ago she had a problem closing things the door, the refrigerator" Emily said. "The liquor bottle" Richard said.

"Then it was Trina, then Sophia" Emily said. "I liked Sophia" Richard said. "You did not" Emily said. "I didn't" Richard asked. "She was the one who sang" Emily said.

"That's right terrible woman" Richard said. "And after Sophia we had Anton" Emily said. "That's right Anton was the one that I liked" Richard said.

"I'm sorry, dad how do you mix Anton and Sophia" Lorelei asked. "What do you mean" Richard asked.

"Well one is a man, and one is a woman" Lorelei said. "And your point being" Richard asked.

"That one is a man, and one is a woman" Lorelei said. "I have a lot to do in a day Lorelei I don't have time to keep up with the multitudes of people that your mother employs" Richard said.

"But one is a man and one is a woman" Lorelei said. "This be a perfect time for dessert to show up" Aurora said.

Right on cue the cook came out and sat the cake on the table. "The dinner was so wonderful Mira" Lorelei said to the cook.

"It's Sarah" she said. "Oh, I'm sorry" Lorelei said and Sarah went back to the kitchen. "Mom her name is Sarah" Lorelei said to Emily. "I thought she said Mira" Emily said.

"Hey grandma these plates are really pretty" Rory said. "Thank you, Rory they were your great grandmother's" Emily said.

"Lorelei the first" Richard said. "Well, she had pretty great taste" Aurora said. "I thought mom was the first" Rory said. "Not in the name" Emily said.

"No but in so many other things I was a regular trailblazer just finishing your thoughts mom" Lorelei said.

"Lorelei the first was my mother she was an extremely accomplished equestrian a distinguished patron of the arts and she was also world famous for her masquerade balls she was quite a woman my mother" Richard said.

"Yes, she was Mira come cut the cake please" Emily said. "Yes, and why don't you bring Sarah out here with you" Lorelei said.

"Just another day at the Gilmores" Aurora said and took a sip of her drink.

Sarah came out and cut the cake giving everyone a slice. "So, Lorelei how are things at that charming little inn of yours" Emily asked. Sarah went around the table filling everyone's drink.

"They're still charming and little we're just crossing our fingers it doesn't become rude and large" Lorelei said.

"Mom's having a huge wedding there this week" Rory said. "Oh yeah that is this week isn't it" Aurora asked and Rory nodded. "Really" Emily said.

"Yeah, actually there's people coming from all over the country" Lorelei said. "Well, isn't that nice" Emily said.

"Yeah" Lorelei said. "Rory, Rora how's Chilton" Emily asked. "Okay done with me now" Lorelei said. "I'm sorry was there more to the story" Emily asked.

"Uh Rory has to pick a team sport to play" Lorelei said. "It's a requirement" Rory said.

"Physical fitness is as important as intellectual fitness so says Plato and so say I" Richard said.

"Rora what did you pick" Rory asked. "Swimming" Aurora said. "That actually suits you, you love to swim it's like your favorite thing besides horses" Rory said.

"What sport are you going to pick" Emily asked Rory. "I'm not sure I'm not really the athletic type" Rory said.

"I told her she should go out for the debating team" Lorelei said. "I'm in the debate team also we could always use more people" Aurora said.

"That's not a sport" Rory said. "Yeah, well it's sport enough" Aurora said. "It is the way Gilmores play" Lorelei said.

"So, what are your choices" Emily asked. "God there's like a thousand of them basketball, lacrosse, swimming track, golf" Rory said. "Golf" Emily asked.

"Yeah" Rory said. "Well, your grandfather is a golf player he plays every week at the club he could teach you to play like a pro" Emily said.

"Emily" Richard said. "He could take you there on Sunday it's perfect" Emily said. "It's not something you can teach in an afternoon" Richard said.

"Okay that's okay Rory can pick something else" Lorelei said.

"Why should she pick something else she needs to learn a sport and Richard can teach her a sport you can use your mother's old golf clubs they're upstairs gathering dust along with the rest of her potential" Emily said.

"Okay mom could I maybe talk to you for a minute" Lorelei asked. "We're having dessert" Emily said.

"I know but I'd like to talk to you fast before the sugar sets in and makes me crazy" Lorelei said.

"You are the oddest person" Emily said going to the next room. "Yeah, too easy" Lorelei said following her. "I could teach you how to swim if you prefer" Aurora said to Rory.

"No that's okay besides it's your thing it's not really mine" Rory said.

"Okay well if you change my mind let me know" Aurora said and Rory nodded.

Moments later dinner was over, and Lorelei, Aurora, and Rory said their goodbyes before heading out to the car.

"Man did you get blindsided I'm so sorry" Lorelei said. "Thats okay" Rory said. "I tried to stop it I swear" Lorelei said. "I know maybe it won't be that bad" Rory said.

"Maybe it won't" Lorelei said. "Maybe I'll like it" Rory said. "Maybe you will" Lorelei said. "Here's hoping" Aurora said.

"Maybe you or Rora could come with me" Rory said. "Sorry I can't maybe next time" Aurora said.

"Mom" Rory said. "Is there a, your crazy team because I think they'd make you captain" Lorelei said.

"Please" Rory said. "Rory, I love you I would take a bullet for you, but I'd rather stick something sharp in my ear than go to the club with you" Lorelei said.

"Fine" Rory said. "I'd rather slide down a banister of razor blades and land in a pool of alcohol than go to the club with you" Lorelei said laughing.

"I got it" Rory said. "Don't stop me I'm on a roll" Lorelei said. "We're not going home till you finish are we" Aurora asked.

"I'd rather eat my own hand than go to the club with you, I'd rather get my face surgically altered to look like that lunatic rich lady with the lion head than go to the club with you" Lorelei said.

"Would you like me to drive so you can continue" Rory asked. "You and I both already know the answer" Aurora told Rory.

"Would you, thanks" Lorelei said and gave Rory the keys.

"I'd rather cut off my head and use it as a punch bowl than go to the club with you" Lorelei said and got in the car with Rory and Aurora and Rory drove off.

"So, where's Rory" Paris asked. "Paris" Aurora said warning her. "What I'm just curious" Paris said.

"You curious you have her a hard time at school basically made enemies with her on the first day without getting to know her" Aurora said. "Rora please" Paris said.

"She's golfing with our grandfather seeing if that's the sport she wants to join" Aurora said.

"Oh" Paris said. "Can we get back to studying now" Aurora asked.

"You know you amaze me sometimes" Paris said. "Why's that" Aurora asked.

"Because you're on the swim team and the debate team you have an ab honor roll, and it has stayed that way all throughout the year" Paris said.

"Well Yale likes this kind of stuff besides even if they didn't, I love swimming and I've always been pretty good with my grades even before I came here" Aurora said.

"Can we get back to studying now" Aurora asked. "Yes, we can" Paris said and they went back to studying.

"Interesting hat" Luke said to Rory pouring her some coffee and giving Aurora a water.

"I went golfing with my grandfather today" Rory said. "And she actually had a great time" Aurora said.

"Did you know that golf courses are an environmental blight because of the chemicals they use to keep the grass green" Luke asked.

"Actually, I did" Rory said. "Bad joke sorry" Rory said seeing Luke's expression. "Okay no more lessons we save that for school okay no more" Aurora said and Luke walked away.

Lorelei saw Aurora and Rory and sat next to Rory once she walked in.

"My god this day the swans, the tulle, my head Luke I need the largest cheeseburger in the world let's break a record mister, so the wedding is a nightmare we got these 10 boxes of creepy Larvae that are supposed to swarm into beautiful butterflies on the wedding day they swarmed a little early" Lorelei said.

"What's with the hat" Lorelei asked Rory. "Grandma gave it to me" Rory said. "Oh, now that's just mean" Lorelei said.

"It's not that bad" Rory said. "Are we seeing the same thing" Aurora asked. "Do you want a mirror" Lorelei asked. "I'm taking it off" Rory said and took the hat off. "Good call" Aurora said.

"So, Rory's golfing adventure tell me" Lorelei said. "It was fine" Rory said.

"Ah honey I brought you Suki's chocolate cake to make you feel better" Lorelei said. "Cake" Aurora said looking.

"She made you a small one she knows how much you love chocolate cake it's at home in the fridge" Lorelei said and Aurora smiled happily. "It really wasn't that bad" Rory said.

"You are the sweetest kid in the whole world where on earth did you get that from" Lorelei asked.

"Luke, am I mistaken or did the sign on the door say open" Lorelei asked Luke. "So where were we" Lorelei asked Rory. "Me golfing" Rory said.

"Right go" Lorelei said. "And tell her the exact words you told me" Aurora said. "Okay well um by the end of the day I could even hit the ball sometimes it wasn't my ball, but the intentions were good" Rory said.

"Well good intentions are no physical exertion whatsoever is what the game of golf was built on" Lorelei said.

"So, um did you and Rora order" Lorelei asked. "I did" Aurora said.

"I'm not hungry I had a big lunch at the club" Rory said. "With all the other devastates of our land" Luke said giving Aurora her food and poured Lorelei some coffee.

"Luke I'm really sorry I didn't know" Rory said and Luke walked off. "You had a big lunch at the club" Lorelei asked Rory.

"Yep, it was quite good" Rory said. "Quite what's with the quite" Lorelei asked. "What do you mean" Rory asked. "Rory you never say quite" Aurora said.

"I've said quite plenty of times" Rory said. "Whatever so besides the quite good lunch you had what else happened" Lorelei asked as Aurora was eating her food.

"Nothing we played I met his friends I took a steam" Rory said. "You took a steam" Lorelei asked.

"Yeah, I sweated out all my toxins and I stole a towel" Rory said. "Huh maybe I should've ditched studying with Paris and went with you" Aurora said.

"Wow sounds like you really had a good time" Lorelei said. "I did" Rory said. "Really" Lorelei said. "Really" Rory said. "Really" Lorelei said.

"Really" Rory said. "Really" Lorelei said. "Okay new word now" Rory said. "Sorry I just I'm, surprised I thought you were gonna be bored" Lorelei said.

"I was kind of surprised too I don't know it was pretty and Grandpa and I talked a lot" Rory said.

"That's great Rory" Aurora said. "You talked really" Lorelei asked. "You're doing it again" Rory said.

"Sorry" Lorelei said. "You talked" Lorelei asked. "We talked about Fez" Rory said.

"And he thought it was a hat" Lorelei said. "I told him about our backpacking trip, and he thought it was a great idea" Rory said.

"Wow so you really had fun" Lorelei asked. "Yeah" Rory said. "That's great that is really, really great" Lorelei said, and Luke gave her, her food.

"Mom" Aurora said worried. "I thought you were starving" Luke said and put the receipt down.

"Things change move on" Lorelei said and Luke walked away. "Does this hat really look bad on me" Rory asked and put the hat back on.

"No, I think it looks kinda cute" Lorelei said. "It's not really my style but if you like it, it looks good" Aurora said.

Aurora was at Tristian's doing their homework together late that night. "Ugh can't we take a break" Tristian asked.

"You do remember who you're talking to right" Aurora asked. "Fine but can we do something fun after" Tristian asked. "Swimming" Aurora asked.

"Anything please" Tristian said. "Okay deal" Aurora said. "Does your mom know your crashing here" Tristian asked. "Yes, she knows" Aurora said.

"Okay" Tristian said and smiled at her with love in his eyes. They soon finished their homework and went swimming for a few hours before they both headed to bed that night.
