I quickly shifted back and went into a defensive mode.

"Are you alone?" I asked already knowing the answer.

"Of course not," He replied as Ari stepped out from behind him grinning maliciously. 

"Why are you here," I quietly whispered, even though I knew everyone could hear me.

"I came to warn you, the School is coming. They aren't going to give up this time" 

"Why?"

"Why what Maximum?" He replied.

"Why everything! Why can't the School leave us alone? Why did you come to warn us? I thought you were on their side." Jacob came up and pressed his snout against my hand, eyes never leaving Jeb and Ari.

"I am on your side, everything I have done, everything I will do is to protect you," He said, a sympathetic look on his face.

"We don't believe you,"  Angel said, I look back to see my Flock standing beside me.

"You should, he's telling the truth," A new voice said, I froze, I knew that voice. My mom. Sure enough, my mom stepped out of the woods, towing Ella behind her.

"MAX!!" Ella exclaims as she ran towards me. I braced myself for the impact, but a growl from Wolf-Jacob made her stop short, about four feet away from me. I look at Jacob disapprovingly, but he just wags his tail, tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. I turn and hurry towards Ella and give her a hug.

"em-uhm," I turn around to see who said that and find everyone looking at Gazzy. "Angel, do me a favor and slap him." Sure enough, I hear a slap and an

"OW" from Gazzy. 

"Thanks," I thought to Angel

"No Problem," I responded

*YAWN* wow, I am tired. As if sensing my exhaustion Jacob suggested we all call it a night and go home. The pack offered to let us spend the night until we can get our house fixed. We agreed and slept peacefully, Iggy taking first watch.

"Why is the blind one taking watch?" I asked, looking at the pack, "And where's Sam?" I finished.

"Sam's on his way here, he had a meeting with a tribe a few hours away," Jared said, breaking the silence. "We will talk then..."
