Chapter 25

So apparently the last chapter was shorter then I thought. Honestly, I was hoping it was a pretty long chapter, but yes I do have a bit of writers block. A lot of stuff has been going on and school was a pain in the ass. Especially our jackass principal. He was just bad from the start. Thank god I'm going to high school:/

Hopefully this chapter is longer, I'm really trying here. But it's just not easy as it was when I first came on here, it's kinda stressing me out even more.

So here's the next chapter, this'll probably be the last chapter for this book, I'm running out of ideas here, and I'll start the next one. I'll try to do two more chapters but idk. Any ideas would really helpful, but nothing about Lilith being found.

Sorry, spoiler, she's not gonna be found just yet:)

But anything else will help!

Two Weeks Later

"Soooooo, how's life bitches?" Emmett cheers with a grin as he comes bouncing into the living room. Bella laughs and I can't help but grin.

We still haven't found Lilith, but it's gotten a bit easier. Emmett is always is trying to keep everyone happy, and me and Bella have been coming over more and more. The Cullen's still don't know anything about the real me, and I think the thing about my cuts and stuff have been forgotten for now. I still wear my leather jacket though.

I roll my eyes.

"Just peachy, Emmy," I retort. Emmett snorts.

"Aw, don't call me Emmy, it sounds like I'm some kinda of award," he pouts, then after a second brightens. "But! The Emmys are good awards, making me awesome!" He grins and puffs his chest. I stare at him blankly.

"You're not awesome," I snip before taking off like a bullet.

"I'm going to get you for the Clare-Bear," Emmett roars and starts stomping and laughing like a maniac.

What the heck have I done to this family? I pass by Carlisle, Esme, and Edward who is going out with Bella. I give them a slight nod with my head and quick smile before throwing myself through the door of Jaspers study. I slam the door and lock it, cutting off my scent.

I hold my breath and leap behind the couch. Jasper looks up from his book and shakes his head with an amused smile. He was used to this, the whole family was. I would always "tick Emmett off" and he would chase after me, and when I wanted him to find me, BAM! I would be right in front of him.

And usually Jaspers study is where I could be found. Either Emmett was really as stupid as some make him out to be, or he was just letting me off the hook and pretending to look. Me hiding could last for days, and Emmett would be so upset. It was hilarious. He wouldn't talk to me for five days once.

Sore loser much.

"Damn Clary! Why do you do this to me?!" Emmett whines from another part of the house. Not even close to me. Cue evil grin.

"Because, you're an idiot. Apparently you're also stupid enough to fall for Clary's trick," Jasper calls out to him as I snicker quietly.

"Emmett! Watch your language! Jasper, be nice to your brother. Carlisle and I will be back soon!" Esme calls as she shuts the front door behind her. You can hear the sound of the Mercedes start and leave the driveway before Emmett storms across the house.

"Try not to destroy anything this time!" Rose calls out after him desperately after the door to Jaspers study flies open.

My eyes widen, and I immediately turn invisible.

"Ohhhh Jasper! I know you know that I know that you know where Clare-Bear is," Emmett sings horribly as he attempts to dance into the room.

I roll my eyes and stand on my knees, leaning against the couch to see an unimpressed Jasper. He once again shakes his head.

"Don't ever, I mean ever, do that again," Jasper says slowly, as if speaking to a small child. Which, he might as well be.

Emmett glares and points a finger at him.

"You're a meanie. My dancing is perfect. So perfect, the world is bowing down to me. Now stop stalling and tell me where Clary is," he demands.

Jasper snorts and rolls his eyes.

"Bro, you're the one that's been stalling," he retorts.

Emmett sighs exasperatedly and plops down on the couch, at the end of Jaspers legs where he has them propped up. I jump back quickly and move to stand next to Jasper at the edge of the couch.

"Come on! Tellmetellmetellmetellme!" Emmett cries putting his hands up in a prayer position.

Again, Jaspers eyes roll before he turns back to his book. Emmett growls and stands, moving around the room. He makes a extremely frustrated noise when he can't find me and leaves the room.

"I'm going for a walk!" Emmett calls before slamming the door and disappearing into the woods. I hear Rose sigh loudly before hurrying after him.

When I'm sure they're out of hearing range, I become visible and fall onto the couch. Bursting out laughing, I hold my sides and hear Jasper start to laugh too.

Wiping away tears, I look at Jasper and say, "He's such a baby I swear. Sometimes, I think he's worse then my brother." I laugh.

Jasper looks at me.

"You have a brother?" he questions and my laughter cuts short. I stare at him, my hands twitch to itch my wrists but I stay still.

"Erm...yeah.... I did," I tell him quietly, looking away.

He frowns.

"Did he...did he die?" Jasper asks softly.

My laugh sounds detached and hollow.

"Nono, he's still alive its just....," I look out the window, "complicated," I finish before standing and walking out.

I walk slowly around the empty house. Doubts and horrible thoughts fill my head after the longest time of being gone. Being here, has done some good. But I can't help but feel like coming here has screwed up everything, and that I'm just a mistake.

I lean against the glass wall in the living room, and look out down the driveway. Trees clumped on both sides, a driveway that would soon become a dirt trail. Their house, stuck in this forest, secluded far from civilization.

Closing my eyes, I sigh, shaking my head. I was rambling inconsiderate thoughts in my head again.

Tires crunching on grave, and the smell of something not human or vampire makes my spine straighten and my eyes fly open. I watch as a red Camaro pulls up and comes to a stop right in front of the house.

Calling out to Jasper, I transport myself to the downstairs living room before walking toward the door. Jasper falls into a step behind me as we walk down the porch, stopping ten feet away from the vehicle.

My postures stiffens as the car door opens and his smell assaults my nose. Japer presses closer to me to where I can feel his chest rise and fall with his breathing.

The man steps out and stands, turning to us. He looked to be my age, with black hair and a pale complexion. I knew his eyes would be a bright green, even before he took off his sunglasses, and that he was much older than he looked.

The man grins, taking off his sunglasses and throwing them into his car.

"Clarissa, it's been too long," the man says. I can practically feel the curiosity radiating from Jasper.

When I don't answer, the man sighs and shuts the door. Moving around his car, he sits on the hood, sighing.

"Clare, I know about Lilith."

If my posture could become any stiffer or tense, it just did. I clench my jaw, and the man watches my reaction. He nods.

"I know things between us, from the past, haven't always been that.....great. But I want to try and make things right." His eyes flicker to Jasper behind me, before coming back to meet my gaze once again.

"I have some info that might help," he tries again.

I pause, before clenching my fists and sighing.

"Alright. I want some answers. And dammit, I want them now Kerian."
