Chapter 19

"I can't wait! This is going to be so much fun!" I gush as I spin the baseball bat around in my hand.

Emmett rolls his eyes at me. "I still can't believe that jersey says, 'TEAM VAMPIRE' on the back." He says shaking his head. I shrug and smirk.

I glanced up at the sky and knew it was getting close. Edward would arrive with Bella any minute now and the game would begin. Emmett still doesn't believe I'll get a home run, but I saw doubt in his words. So, he's going to own me eighty bucks here pretty soon.

Just then, Edward and Bella walked up. Carlisle and Rose stacked hands on the bat but of course, Carlisle won. Bella smiled at me and I grinned back. I tightened my ponytail and straightened my baseball hat, which was on backwards.

"It's time." Alice says as thunder booms and lighting cracks. I grin and watch as Alice throws the ball at Carlisle, vampire speed. He hits it, making it boom like thunder and takes off like lighting.

"Now, I see why you need the thunder." Bella says in amazement to Esme.

Jasper lets me go before him and I smirk over at Emmett. I turn toward Alice and get position then nod. She looks hesitant, but throws at vampire speed anyway. I hit with the same amount of force as the others and take off running.

Emmett scowls at me before realizing he needed to get the ball. He chased after it but I'm already at home plate. I smirk again at Emmett and high-five with the others. The game went on, then I realized it was time. Two seconds before Alice called out, "Stop!"

Edward turns to Alice, the music from the movie keeps playing in my head while everyone rushes over. Edward try's to take a confused Bella away, but Carlisle stops him. It's to late.

I'm such a moron! I could have stopped this by telling one of them. Then Edward could have left with Bella and everyone could clean up! Ugh! I feel like ripping my hair out right now.

I glare at the ground while everyone lines up. I stand behind Edward and Bella, a plan already forming in my head.

The scene from the movie plays out exactly. But this time, I feel the tenseness and unease in the air. They go through introductions, James eyes me like a piece of meat, sparing a glance at Bella, the taunting. Now, the hissing.

"The girl is with us." Carlisle says. Laurent nods.

"We'll go now. James." He says as he and Victoria ease back. Only her with a hiss.

"James!" Laurent barks.

James backs away and puts his arm around Victoria. Throwing me once last glance, he turns away and their gone. I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding, and made Bella smell her usual smell. Jasper glanced at me worriedly.

"We have to go. Take Bella home. She'll be fine." I command. Edward looks at me for a moment before glancing between Bella and me, and nods.

Bella and him hurry toward the jeep and I throw my bat at Emmett. Without warning, I throw myself on Jasper's back. I glance at Emmett, ignoring all the surprised looks.

"You still own me eighty bucks, buddy." I say and Emmett looks at me with disbelief.

I motion for Jasper to go. "My house." He looks at me before nodding and he takes off.

I get what Bella said now about riding on Edwards back. It was exciting and awesome. The wind whipped my hair around my face, stinging slightly at it hit. Of course, not as good as my time traveling and witch flying, but it was fun. We arrive at my house in no time, the backyard actually.

I hurriedly walk to the back door, throwing my arm out, the door flies open.

"Kristina!" I yell as I enter. I quickly take off my jersey and hat, making them disappear into my closet. I straighten my black shirt as Kristina hurries down the stairs, my tattoos showing.

"Did you- Never mind." She hands me Lilith and I give her a quick hug.

"Be good for Aunt Kris and don't go outside. Use powers if needed, ok?" I ask and she nods.

Looking confidently at me, she gives me a hug and hurries up the stairs. I glance at Kristina, and with that one look, she seems to understand everything.

"I'll take care of us." I nod and head to a painting on the wall.

I pull it to the side like a door and twist the dial on it. I stick out my tongue before it finally clicks. It opens and I pull out my set of daggers. I flip them around turning them into pencils before sticking them in an X in my ponytail, which I twist into a bun.

I glance at Jasper and nod. He looks extremely shocked and quickly shakes himself out of it before nodding and looks at me strangely. I sigh and hurry out the door.

"I know where to go."

He glances at me. "Tell me."
