Chapter 18
Chapter 18
The sun was setting and it was almost dark by the time Bella came home. I hide in the bushes until Edward left and Bella was in her house. I moved quickly across the yard and made my way up the tree that was next to her window.
I had left Lilith with the Cullen's since I was planning on going back. It would look suspicious too if I left her at home and came over here, and Edward caught me. I'd have a whole night filled with answering questions. And honestly, Bella's more important here. I'm starting to wonder if I should have even come at all.
I touched the window unlocking it, and hopped in landing lightly. I shut the window and sat in the rocking chair in the corner. When Bella came in, she didn't notice me at first until I cleared my throat. She spun around with wide eyes and pulled out the pepper spray her dad had given her.
I held my hands out in surrender and stood, taking a few steps forward. Bella relaxed slightly and set the pepper spray down on her dresser.
"What-what are you doing her? How did you get here?" She demands. I can't help but smirk slightly and plop on the edge of her bed.
"Well, if you must know. I came to apologize," I held up my hand as she opened her mouth to speak. "Please, just let me speak. Edward will be here soon and there are some things I need to tell you.
"I want to apologize because I never told you about Lilith, that slipped my mind with everything that's been going on. Also, because I never told you I was hanging out with the Cullen's outside of school."
I pause and she nods. "I was just... surprised, and shocked, and hurt. I'd never really had good, best friends, and I thought you know..." She trails off and I smile.
"Of course. I want to give you something, something's." She frowned, probably thinking how I was going to give her something when I didn't even have any bags.
"Give me your hand." I say and hold out my right hand.
She reaches out and puts her hand in mine. I put my other hand over hers, holding her hand in both of mine. For a moment nothing happens, but then a small ball of light appears making Bella gasp, her eyes bulge out of her head.
I pull my hands away and she opens hers and she gasps again. Sitting in her palm are two little charms. One says BFF, and the other is a small gold pentagram. She examines them and frowns.
"Charms? A pentagram?" She questions.
I open my mouth but immediately shut it as I sense Edward a mile away. I stand.
"You'll figure out soon enough what there for, just don't get a bracelet chain. Hide the charms if you can." I touch her forehead before I disappear.
I'm a witch.
I knew she could keep a secret, Edward can't read her mind anyway.
