Room 303

(Twilight then quickly flew back to the harmony hotel and when she arrived she quickly raced to Crackle's room before knocking on the door to which Gilda opens it)

"Good morning ma'am!" Gilda greeted

"Excuse me, you are...?" Twilight asked

"Ah, I beg your pardon ma'am! Bellgirl Gilda of this establishment at your service" Gilda greeted

"Oh, now I remember, I'm happy that you've changed for the good" Twilight said happily

"Thanks anyways, I've just come up to deliver room service ma'am!" Gilda eplained

"Um... Do you know where miss Cosette might be?" Twilight asked

"Ah, I believe our guest miss Cosette is currently using the, er, facilities...? If you've got no need for anything I'll be taking my leave, please stay as long as you'd like, enjoy" Gilda suggested

Gilda then flew out as Twilight turned to face her while she left

"Yeah... Wait... No! Hey!..." Twilight called out but it was too late

Why does it seem like every time I come here I end up embarrassing myself? Wait... Now's my chance to snoop around a bit!

Gilda then quickly returned as she peeked from the doorway

"Ah, I almost forgot!" Gilda realized

"Gah! Y-You came back quick!" Twilight called out in shock

"Might I ask you to inform miss Cosette that there is a message for her? Please tell her that Mr. Gladmane of the Las Pegasus industry phoned" Gilda asked

"Oh right, sure" Twilight answered

Mr. Gladmane... Of Las Pegasus? Where have I heard that name?

[Flashback Start]

"Mane... That was his name, my best friend told me" Pinkie explained

[Flashback End]

'Mane' was the name of the guy who ruined Pinkie Pie's mother! Could it be a coincidence?

(Twilight then quietly trotted back to the drawer)

"There's a screwdriver sticking out of that half-open drawer, now's my chance to see what's inside!" Twilight suggested to herself as she used her magic to open the drawer further only to see something that made her gasp in shock "...! What do we have here! A... Wiretap? Hmm! What would a mare like her be doing with a thing like this?" Twilight asked sneakingly

Twilight then writes down the last piece of evidence on the letter before she used her magic to grab both the wiretap and screwdriver

"There's definitely something suspicious about this 'Miss Cosette'! Why would she have something like this in her hotel room? There's a story behind all this, I know it! Alright... I'll be using this bit of evidence in tomorrow's trial that's for sure and for Pinkie's sake... I'll get to this mare's bottom! Wait... I mean... You know what I mean" Twilight reminded before winking at the camera

"Oh Gilda?! Still there?!" Crackle shouted

"Uh oh, time to scram!

(Twilight then lightened up her horn before teleporting out of the room with the last two pieces of evidence)

I look forward to tangoing with you tomorrow miss Cosette! In court!

(Twilight then teleported off as she went to prepare herself for the trial tomorrow before she went to sleep in Pinkie's bed in Sugar Cube Corner since her home was locked for investigation...)

September 7, 10:00 AM

District Court

Courtroom No. 1

(The next day everybody had arrived in the courtroom as they went to take a seat at their signature places as they began talking until Princess Celestia teleports in and slams her gavel on the podium)

"The court is now in session for the trial of Mrs. Pinkie Pie" Princess Celestia announced

"The prosecution is ready your honor" Rainbow announced

"The defense is ready your honor" Twilight announced

Rainbow Dash... I'd better not show any signs of losing today or else she'll be taunting me in an instant

"Mrs. Dash, please give the court your opening statement" Princess Celestia ordered

"Thank you your honor, the defendant Mrs. Pinkie Pie was at the scene of the crime, the prosecution has evidence she committed this murder... And we have a witness who saw her do it, the prosecution sees no reason to doubt the facts of this case your honor" Rainbow explained

"I see, thank you Mrs. Dash, let's begin then" Princess Celestia suggested

"If we may call our first witness your honor?" Rainbow asked

"Of course Mrs. Dash" Princess Celestia answered

"The prosecution calls chief officer at the scene, Detective Stygian!" Rainbow announced

Afterwards Stygian was brought into the room as Rainbow turned to her

"Witness please state your name and profession to the court!" Rainbow ordered

"My name's Stygian ma'am! I'm the detective in charge of homicides in the precinct!" Stygian explained

"Detective Stygian, please describe for us the details of the murder" Rainbow ordered

"Very well! Let me use this floor map of the office to explain" Stygian suggested as the screen changed to the drawn floor with every evidence and Starlight's body added "The body was found by this window here" Stygian explained

"And the cause of death?" Rainbow asked

"Loss of blood due to being struck by a blunt object! The murder weapon was a statue of 'the thinker' found next to the body! It's heavy enough to be a deadly weapon, even in the mare's hands!" Stygian explained

"The court accepts the statue as evidence" Princess Celestia explained

They're still calling it a statue

(Twilight then drew the floor plans on the court record letter and copy and pasted the floor evidence afterwards)

"Now Detective..." Rainbow started

"Y-Yes miss?!" Stygian asked

"You immediately arrested mrs. Pinkie Pie who was found at the scene correct?" Rainbow asked as Stygian then nodded "Can you tell me why?" Rainbow asked

"Yes! I had hard evidence she did it!" Stygian answered

"Hmm, Detective Stygian, please testify to this court about this 'hard evidence'" Princess Celestia ordered

Witness Testimony

--Pinkie Pie's Arrest--

"As soon as the phone call came in I rushed to the scene!"

"There were two people there already:"

"The defendant Mrs. Pinkie Pie and the lawyer Mrs. Twilight Sparkle"

"I immediately arrested mrs. Pinkie Pie!"

"Why? We had a witness account describing her!"

"The witness saw Mrs. Pinkie Pie at the very moment of the murder!"

"Hmm... The very moment you say, very well, Mrs. Sparkle, you may begin your cross-examination" Princess Celestia suggested

"Y-Yes, your honor" Twilight said

Cross-examine what...? I couldn't see a single contradiction in that testimony...

(Just then something was thrown through the courtroom until it hit Twilight's cheek making her grunt in pain and rub her cheek before she looked at the ground where the thing was and picked it up with her horn)

Hey! Pinkie just threw something at me... What's this? 'When my best friend couldn't find any contradictions in a witness' testimony she would bluff it and press the witness on every detail! The witness always slips up and says something wrong... It worked lots of times' Heh... I should have expected Pinkie would know some of her friends' tactics! Alright, let's give this a try!

"Something the matter?" Princess Celestia asked

"No your honor, I'd like to begin my cross-examination" Twilight answered

"Very well, go right ahead" Princess Celestia said

"Who did you say you got a call from?" Twilight asked

"Hey miss, don't play dumb! You know who! The call was from a customer at the gatewater hotel right across from the crime scene!" Stygian reminded

Hmm... Okay, I pressed, not sure it did much though

"Right, so Detective Stygian, how long would you say it took between you recieving the call and your arrival at the scene of the crime?" Twilight asked

"Hmm, right... I'd say it was about 3 minutes!" Stygian answered

"Th-That's pretty fast!" Twilight said in shock

"Our motto this month is 'quick response'! That's how I got there before the killer got away!" Stygian explained

"Indeed! So tell us who the two people you found on the scene were" Rainbow suggested

"Yes of course, they were Twilight and Pinkie" Stygian explained

"Are you absolutely sure it was us?" Twilight asked

"Listen miss, your dumb act will only get you so far! With her funny poofy mane and your wings and horn? You two stand out like... Like suspicious people at a crime scene!" Stygian reminded

Well... He does have a point about her, she is pretty unmistakable, I should pick my points to press with a little more care...

"Why's that? What's your reasoning?" Twilight asked

"I already told you we had a witness account describing her remember?" Stygian reminded

"Hold on just one second!" Twilight suggested

"Y-Yeah?" Stygian asked nervously

"If I heard correctly... You said you arrested her because you had 'hard evidence' she did it, correct?" Twilight asked

"Huh? Did... Did I say that? Me?" Stygian asked

"I heard you say it!" Twilight reminded

"You did say it" Princess Celestia reminded

"You said it" Rainbow reminded

"So exactly what about this suspicious mare with a stick as horn was 'hard evidence'?" Twilight asked angrily

"W-What?! Miss Cosette isn't suspicious and she sure doesn't have a stick as a horn!" Stygian reminded before she realized something "Well, I guess she does have a stick as a horn" Stygian realized

"That's enough Detective Stygian, do you have any more solid proof other than her claims?" Princess Celestia asked

"Umm..." Stygian said nervously

Hmm, I guess pressing can have it's advantages!

"...Yes" Stygian answered

Gah!

"Sorry, I got the order of things mixed up in my testimony your honor! There was something I should have told you about first your honor!" Stygian apologized

"Very well detective, let's hear your testimony again" Princess Celestia suggested

Witness Testimony

--Hard Evidence--

"After securing the suspect I examined the scene of the crime with my own eyes"

"I found a memo written on a piece of paper next to the victim's body!"

"On it the word Pinkie was written clearly in blood!"

"Lab test results showed that the blood was the victim's!"

"Also there was blood found on the victim's hoof!"

"Before she died the victim wrote the killer's name!"

"How do you like that? That's my 'hard evidence'!"

"Hmm... Before we begin the cross examination I have a question for you Detective" Princess Celestia said

"Y-Yes your honor?" Stygian asked

"Why didn't you testify about this vital piece of evidence the first time?" Princess Celestia asked

"Ah... Eh... I know, I'm real embarrassed I forgot about it your honor" Stygian explained

"Try to be more careful!" Princess Celestia suggested which made Stygian nod his head before Princess Celestia turned her head to Twilight "Very well, the defense may begin it's cross examination" Princess Celestia suggested

"Alright" Twilight said before turning back to Stygian "Did you find any evidence?" Twilight asked

"Now, now, don't jump the gun on me, miss, just listen, I'm getting to the good part" Stygian reminded

I got a bad feeling about this...

"Hold on, just because you found it next to the body doesn't mean the victim wrote it!" Twilight reminded

"Ho hoh! Then who did write it smarty pants?" Stygian asked

"Wh-Who? Um... Th-The killer! Anyone can see that!" Twilight reminded

"Hoh, you're saying the killer wrote her OWN name?! Come on please, she's your friend!" Stygian reminded

"She was framed!" Twilight reminded

"Objection!" Rainbow shouted "Hold on, if that's the case, where's your evidence?" Rainbow asked

"Ah..." Twilight gasped in shock and disbelief

Urk! My friend is turning against me!

"Hah! I guess that was a bit of a tall order for you, those without evidence shouldn't open their mouths mrs. Sparkle" Rainbow reminded

"Yeah, I agree with her!" Stygian agreed

Argh...! Even Stygian is against me!

"Welll detective? Tell us what was written on that memo you found" Rainbow suggested

"Objection!" Twilight shouted before turning to Stygian again "Detective Stygian! There's one thing I want you to clarify for me here, you say that the victim Starlight Glimmer wrote this note, that she was accusing the defendant Pinkie Pie?  That's really what you're saying?" Twilight asked

"Wh-What? This isn't one of your lawyerly tricks now is it? Of course she wrote it! Who else could have?!" Stygian asked angrily

"You have it backwards Detective" Twilight reminded

"B-Backwards?" Stygian asked

"The victim is the only person who absolutely could NOT have written it!" Twilight reminded before pulling up the autopsy report she got from Stygian "This is a report from your department Detective, 'Immediate death due to a blow from a blunt object', she died immediately" Twilight reminded

"But...!" Stygian started

"No 'but'-ing your way out of this one detective!" Twilight ordered

(Afterwards the gallery began murmuring sounds of shock, disbelief and worry until Princess Celestia slammed her gavel on it's podium a few times)

"Order! Order!" Princess Celestia called out before turning to Stygian "The defense has a point, someone who died immediately wouldn't have the time to write anything down" Princess Celestia reminded

"Objection!" Rainbow called out before she pulled out an autopsy report which was updated "Mrs. Sparkle, I beg your pardon but when exactly did you obtain that autopsy report?" Rainbow asked

"Wh-When...?! The day after the murder of course" Twilight answered

"The prosecution's point being?" Princess Celestia asked

"That autopsy report is outdated your honor" Rainbow answered

"Wh-What?!" Twilight gasped in shock and disbelief

"A second autopsy report was performed yesterday at my request! 'Death was almost immediate due to a blow from a blunt object... But there is a possibility the victim lived for several minutes after the blow', I received these results this morning" Rainbow explained

"N-No way!" Twilight said in shock and disbelief

"Yur honor! It's quite easy to imagine that the victim did have time to write the to write 'Pinkie'! That is all" Rainbow explained

"I see!" Princess Cellestia realized

Damn you Rainbow! I should have known you'd have something up your sleeve!

"Why, Mrs. Sparkle, you look shocked! Something you want to say?" Rainbow asked

"Detective Stygian! That was not smart! How could you give me a faulty report?!" Twilight asked

"Huh? I-I thought..." Stygian started

"Detective Stygian" Rainbow called out

Stygian then turned to Rainbow worriedly

"Urp!" Stygian called out while turning to Rainbow

"I'm disappointed in you, handing him the wrong report like that" Rainbow said angrily

"Eh...? I...I'm sorry ma'am" Stygian apologized

"You are at fault detective, this isn't going to look good on your evaluation next month" Rainbow said angrily

"W-What? B-But..." Stygian started before sighing in defeat

"Your honor, I submit this report to the court" Rainbow said

"U-Understood, the court accepts the evidence" Princess Celestia said

Twilight then wrote down the updated report on the court record letter and erased the previous report with her magic

"Well your honor? The evidence strongly suggests the victim was identifying the killer" Rainbow explained

"I suppose that's the obvious conclusion yes" Princess Celestia said sadly

Drat! This isn't looking good!

"The prosecution would like to call it's next witness, this poor, innocent mare who saw the murder with her own eyes!" Rainbow explained sadly

"Let the witness Crackle Cosette take the stand" Princess Celestia suggested

Exactly what part of her is 'innocent'...?

(Stygian then went off the witness stand while Crackle Cosette was dragged onto the witness stand afterwards as she stood there with her happiest smile)

"Witness, your name please" Princess Celestia ordered

"Crackle Cosette at your service!" Crackle introduced

(Crackle then winked while glowing her horns as some pieces of rainbow glitter rained onto the ground showing signs of her being in love which made the gallery all moan in awe, happiness and love until Princess Celestia slammed the gavel on the podium three times again)

"Order!" Princess Celestia called out before turning to Crackle "An introduction should not require any reaction from the crowd and the witness shall refrain from spreading glitter everywhere!" Princess Celestia reminded angrily

"Aww... Yes your honor" Crackle said sadly

This is not good... She's already captured the heart of everypony in the court!

"Tell us, where were you on the night of September 5 when the murder occured?" Rainbow asked

"Ummm... Gee... I was, like, in my hotel room" Crackle answered before giggling "I checked in right after lunch" Crackle explained

"And this hotel is directly across from the Castle of Friendship correct?" Rainbow asked

"Mmm... That's right big pony" Crackle answered

"Please testify to the court about what you saw" Princess Celestia ordered

Witness' Testimony

--Witness' Account--

"It was, like, 9:00 at night, I looked out the window y'know!"

"And then, oooh! I saw a mare with a half curly mane being attacked!"

"The one attacking her was the mousey mare sitting in the defendant's chair!"

"Then the mare, like, dodged to one side and ran away!"

"But that mare, she caught up to her and... And... She hit her!"

"Then the mare with half curly mane..."

"She kinda... Slumped"

"The end, that's all I saw, every little bitsy witsy!"

(Crackle then winked to Princess Celestia after her testimony which she then began to ignore and began thinking)

"Hmm..." Princess Celestia thought

"Well your honor?" Rainbow asked

"I see, it is a remarkably solid testimony, I don't see a need to trouble the witness any..." Princess Celestia started

"W-Wait your honor!" Twilight started

"Yes mrs. Sparkle?" Princess Celestia asked

"What about my cross-examination?" Twilight asked

"I thought the witness' testimony just now was quite... Firm, didn't you?" Princess Celestia asked

"Mrs. Sparkle... I understand you were Starlight Glimmer's teacher and Pinkie's friend, were you not? You must know their techniques well, her cowardly way of finding tiny faults in perfectly good testimonies but I think you should just let go" Rainbow suggested

"H-Hey! How dare you!" Twilight asked angrily

"Well, Mrs. Sparkle? Will you cross examine the witness?" Princess Celestia asked

"I'll gladly proceed with the cross examination" Twilight answered

If only because I have a feeling Rainbow doesn't want me to! She has to have some weakness!

"Very well, you may begin with your cross examination then" Princess Celestia said

(Twilight then nodded before turning to Crackle)

"Why did you do that?" Twilight asked

"Huh? 'Why'? Why what?" Crackle asked

"Why did you look out the window? Were you expecting to see something?" Twilight asked

"Oh, well, um... Gee!" Crackle thought nervously

What? That's it? She can't get out of this question that easily!

"I sort of, y'know, had a feeling!" Crackle answered

Well I have a feeling she's trying to avoid the question! Maybe I should press a little harder on this one? Yes I should but let's see how far I can run with this...

"Surely you must have had a reason to look out the window at that time of night!" Twilight reminded

"I... Oooh!" Crackle thought nervously

"Objection!" Rainbow called out angrily "Mrs. Sparkle! I will not have you badgering my witness!" Rainbow reminded angrily

"B-Badgering?" Twilight asked in shock and worry

"You insist on needling her with these trivial questions, I really don't thinkit should be allowed" Rainbow reminded

"Yeah! Yeah! Stop her!" Somepony in the gallery called out

"The poor pony!" Somepony else in the gallery called out

(Princess Celestia then levitated her gavel once more and slammed it on it's podium three times to calm the crowd)

"Order!" Princess Celestia called out slamming her gavel a few times before turning to Twilight "Mrs. Sparkle, you have been warned" Princess Celestia said angrily

Poor pony?! What about me?!

"So you looked out the window, okay that's all we needed to know" Rainbow said

"The mare with half curly hair... That was Starlight Glimmer?" Twilight asked

"Um-Hmm! Slender, sort of, well, some ponies might say pretty if that's your thing" Crackle answered

Your... Thing?

"And the pony attacking her?" Rainbow asked

"How do you know she was the defendant?" Twilight asked

"Huh? Well... Y'know! S-She had a silly physique, mares know these things, look... I-I just know okay" Crackle reminded

"There was only one pony at the scene of the crime with a short silly physique, the testimony is bulletproof your honor" Rainbow explained

She's right, right? Wait, no it doesn't

"Hold on a minute! That testimony stinks!" Twilight realized

"W-What?!" Crackle asked in shock

"Miss Cosette I'm willing to bet that you are not telling the truth! Did you really see the defendant?!" Twilight asked angrily

"Urp!" Crackle called out in shock

"Mrs. Sparkle! What's the meaning of this?" Princess Celestia asked angrily

"Yes, what is the meaning?! Somebody tell me because I'm clueless! About this I mean!" Crackle asked angrily

"Okay... If you had really witnessed my client Pinkie Pie... You would have noticed her hair before noticing her physique!" Twilight reminded

"...!" Crackle gasped in shock

"No one makes her hair like this on a daily basis except her! And I'm no expert on fashion but her hairdo looks far from normal to me however the witness' testimony mentions neither of these things! The testimony is bogus!" Twilight reminded angrily

"But... But!" Crackle started nervously

"Still, we don't know if she had her hair be that way the night of the murder..." Princess Celestia reminded

"She has your honor! I saw her and so did detective Stygian! What do you say to that miss Cosette?" Twilight asked

"Rowr! What are you trying to say you mean lawyer! I-I saw what I saw, I... Just didn't think all the trifling little details were necessary darling" Crackle answered

"Miss Cosette, the court would like to remind you to please omit nothing in your testimony" Princess Celestia suggested

"I'm sorry your honor, I'll be a good pony I promise" Crackle said before winking again

"Your testimony again if you would" Princess Celestia suggested

Damn, I almost had her!

Witness Testimony

--Witness' Account--

"I did see everything! I did!"

"The victim-- The mare-- Dodged the first attack and ran off to the right"

"Then the mare in the curly mane ran after her..."

"And she hit her with that weapon! I saw it! I did!"

"That... That clock! Um... The kinda statue-y clock? 'The Thinker' I think?"

"Well? Does the accuracy of my report not startle you?"

Princess Celestia then began thinking

"I... See, I only wish you had been so detailed from the beginning" Princess Celestia reminded before turning to Twilight "Please begin the cross examination" Princess Celestia suggested

(Twilight then nodded before turning to Crackle)

"So you saw me then too?" Twilight asked

"Of course! I'd remember those wings and horn anywhere!" Crackle answered

Wings and horn...?

"The witness will refrain from personal attacks on the defense attorney" Princess Celestia reminded strictly

"Aww, was I a bad pony? I'm sowwy" Crackle apologized sadly

"Very well, it's alright for once" Princess Celestia said

"By the way is that 'right' as in your right as you looked from the hotel?" Twilight asked while turning back to Crackle

"Um... Which hoof do I hold my camera in again...? Right! It was my right hoof! Right?" Crackle asked angrily

"Satisfied Mrs. Sparkle?" Rainbow asked

"Not yet Rainbow" Twilight answered before turning to Crackle "How convenient for you to remember her 'curly' mane!" Twilight reminded in disbelief

"That's what you--- I mean that's what she was wearing! Oh and her hair was all done up like an exploded psycho!" Crackle reminded

(Twilight then sighed in disbelief)

For once I agree with Pinkie's mane looking like an exploded psycho

"Alright, continue Twilight" Princess Celestia suggested

"Where did this weapon come from?" Twilight asked

"She picked it up from the desk!" Crackle answered

"I see... What sort of weapon was it?" Princess Celestia asked

"The thinker of course" Crackle answered

"A... Clock?" Twilight asked in confusion

Didn't this come up in another testimony recently...?

"W-Well? Don't look so sour Mrs. Lawyer, you can't win them all" Crackle suggested

No... But I have a feeling I'm onto something now!

"Objection!" Twilight shouted "Miss Cosette, what you said just now was quite... Revealing" Twilight said in disbelief

"Revealing? Ooh, you'd like that wouldn't you naugty mrs. Lawyer..." Crackle said in disbelief

"You just said that this statue of 'the thinker' was a clock but there's no way of knowing that just by looking at it" Twilight reminded

"Urp!" Crackle gasped in shock

"Another person in much the same position as you recently called this a 'clock' too... And he was found guilty... Of murder!" Twilight reminded

(Afterwards the gallery began murmuring sounds of shock and disbelief at what they just heard which made Princess Celestia slam her gavel once more)

"Order! Order!" Princess Celestia called out

"Miss Cosette, can you explain how you know this was a clock?" Twilight asked

"Oooh... Urp!" Crackle gasped in worry

"Objection!" Rainbow called out angrily "The witness saw the murder with her own eyes! That's all that's important here! The defense is trying to confuse the issue with trivial concerns!" Rainbow explained

"Yes... Yes, of course, you will withdraw your question Mrs. Sparkle" Princess Celestia reminded

"Objection!" Twilight called out before slamming her hooves onto the desk "But questions are all I have your honor! And as you may recall, I've caught murderers with these questions before!" Twilight reminded

Well, only once...

"... ...Objection sustained, you may continue to question the witness" Princess Celestia said

Whew, that was close, if he stopped me there the trial would be over!

"Huh? What? So... What happens now?" Crackle asked

"What happens now is you answer my question! How did you know it was a clock?" Twilight asked

"What...! Th-That's... ...Because... I heard it? Yes! I heard it say the time!" Crackle answered nervously

"So you've been to my castle aka my home?!" Twilight asked

"N-N-No! Hey, I didn't say that! Why would I go there?! I heard from my hotel room!" Crackle answered before giggling

"Twilight's castle aka her home where the murder took place is very close to the hotel, she could easily have heard the clock!" Rainbow reminded

"Hmm, well mrs. Sparkle? Are you satisfied?" Princess Celestia asked

"No your honor!" Twilight answered

I can't give up now!

"I'm not satisfied because your honor, members of the court... It is inconcievable that the clock in question rang!" Twilight explained

"And why's that?" Princess Celestia asked

"That clock is missing it's clockwork!" Twilight answered

"H-How could you possibly...?" Princess Celestia started

"Just have a look... As soon as you can!" Twilight suggested

(Princess Celestia then nods as she levitates 'the thinker' to her and inspects it only to see something shocking

"...Oh!" Princess Celestia realized

"See anything interesting your honor?" Twilight asked

"It is as the defendant says! This clock is missing its clockwork! It's quite empty! Mr. Wright! Would you care to explain to the court the meaning of this?" Princess Celestia asked

"It is as you can see, the 'clock' was empty, it couldn't have rung! Therefore, this witness... Is a big fat liar!" Twilight reminded

"F-Fat?!" Crackle asked in shock and anger

"Well miss cosette?" Twilight asked

"Tsk, tsk" Rainbow reminded shaking her head in disbelief

"I have proof" Twilight answered

The evidence that proves when the clockwork was removed is Pinkie's cellphone!" Twilight answered before levitating up Pinkie's cell phone "Take a look at this!" Twilight suggested

"Hmm, that's a very cute cell phone" Princess Celestia said

"Ooh hoo! You have a ponyie phone!" Crackle said in disbelief

"W-Wait! Wait! This isn't my phone! Listen! This is the defendant's cell phone and it contains a recording... A recording of a conversation she had with the victim on the day of the murder!" Twilight explained

(Afterwards the gallery began muttering sounds of shock and disbelief as Princess Celestia levitated the gavel and hits it on the podium once again)

"Order! Order!" Princess Celestia called out

"The defendant's cell phone! Th-This wasn't brought to my attention!" Rainbow said in shock

"Perhaps Detective Stygian overlooked it!" Twilight reminded

(After saying that Rainbow began grumbling a bit under her breath)

"The good detective better remember he's up for evaluation soon..." Rainbow muttered

"By the way I should probably tell you the clock isn't talking right now" Starlight explained

"Huh? It's not working? That's lame!" Pinkie said sadly

"I had to take the clockwork out sorry" Starlight explained

*Beep*

Twilight then shuts off the phone as she turned to Princess Celestia

"Your honor, I think this recording makes it clear that the clockwork was already gone... And this was recorded in the morning before the witness even arrived at her hotel!" Twilight answered

"Muh... Muh... Muh?!" Crackle stuttered worriedly

"Well Miss Cosette? Would you care to explain this to the court? Just how did you know that weapon was a clock?!" Twilight asked angrily

"...W-Well...! Well, isn't it o-obvious? I saw that clock before! Um... What store was that again? I-I go to so many! Oops! I forgot!" Crackle apologized

"So the witness had seen it before, that would make sense, does the defense have any objections mrs. Sparkle?" Princess Celestia asked

"The witness claims she had 'seen it before' but this directly contradicts a piece of evidence already submitted to this court!" Twilight explained

"Well then, let's see it, please produce this evidence that will prove the witness had not seen the clock before" Princess Celestia suggested

"It's simple, this clock was never in any store ever!" Twilight reminded

"W-Whaaat?!" Crackle screamed in shock

"A friend of mine made that clock, only two exist in the world and the one that isn't here is in police custody!" Twilight reminded angrily

"I-Impossible! Everything is sold in stores!" Crackle yelled angrily

"Say miss Cosette, I think it's high time you went shopping for a better excuse..." Twilight suggested

(Just then something unexpected happened Crackle used her magic to transform herself to her original form, Queen Chrysalis as she turned angrily at Twilight)

"What's it to you, smarty pants?! That stupid clock doesn't matter okay?! She did it! And she should die for it! Die!" Queen Chrysalis reminded

While shouting Queen Chrysalis slammed her hooves on the ground a few times making a few cracks appear

"W-W-Whoa! I did not see that coming! T-This is a court of law and no battle ground!" Princess Celestia reminded angrily

"Hrrrgh... hrrrh... Hrrr..." Queen Chrysalis panted before she turned to Princess Celestia with her best smile trying to stay calm "Heh, oh? Oh! Oh? Oh hoh ho! S-Silly me!" Queen Chrysalis said before grunting in disbelief "Did I, um, like... Reveal myself? I guess I did, tee hee!" Queen Chrysalis said

(Queen Chrysalis then gave a wink as the other ponies didn't make any sound, still stunned by the reveal of Queen Chrysalis who they thought was in stone while others were trying to run out the door)

S-She was really Queen Chrysalis?! So we got tricked by that green pony everytime?! Guess that's how our clones came to be

"Miss Chrysalis, let me ask, tell me, how did you know the weapon was a clock?" Princess Celestia asked trying to control herself

"Yes your honor, allow me to explain how I see the truth of the matter, miss Crackle Cosette aka Queen Chrysalis you knew the weapon was a clock because you had never held the clock in your hand instead you had heard that it was a clock!" Twilight reminded

"That is correct your honor, there is no other way she could have known 'the thinker' was a clock! And I can show you the proof!" Twilight answered

"Well, this is interesting, let's hear it then, show me evidence proving that the witness had 'heard' the murder weapon was a clock" Princess Celestia ordered

"Well, the witness must have known of the call on the defendant's cell phone" Twilight answered

"Of course but we've seen that already" Princess Celestia reminded

"Take another listen to the conversation between the defendant and the victim" Twilight suggested

"Oh, hehe, Starlight! What's up? You haven't called in a while!" Pinkie reminded

"That's good to hear, actually, I'm calling because I have a favor to ask" Starlight explained

"I'm not entirely sure that it is, objection overruled, it troubles me that our witness and super villain was in possession of a wiretap" Princess Celestia said in disbelief

"This is so stupid! Does the defense truly claim that the witness was tapping her phone?!" Rainbow asked in disbelief

"Even if that was the case" Rainbow started before whispering "Which is not" Rainbow whispered before speaking in her usual voice again "You still have to prove one thing! Did the victim ever say that the weapon was a clock on the phone? Can you prove that? I THINK NOT!" Rainbow reminded

That did it! The court has finally seen the defeat of miss Chrysalis now! Now to deal the final blow!

"Miss Chrysalis!" Twilight called out angrily

"What is it you little shrimp?! Don't talk to me in that tone of voice will you!" Queen Chrysalis ordered

"You killed her, didn't you?" Twilight asked angrily

(The gallery then began muttering sounds of agreement and disbelief at Queen Chrysalis which made Princess Celestia slam her gavel once more)

"Order! There will be order!" Princess Celestia reminded angrily

"What? How can you possibly say that?! Are you mad?! A-All I did was a little wiretap...!" Queen Chrysalis reminded before she realized what she said "Oops!" Queen Chrysalis said in shock and disbelief

"So you admit you tapped her phone?!" Twilight asked angrily

"Heh... Heh... Hrrah! B-But wait! I didn't do ANYTHING bad like murder! I'm a good pony!" Queen Chrysalis reminded worriedly

"Really? Can you prove it?" Twilight asked

"You can't be serious! No way!" Twilight called out in shock and worry
