Prologue/Introduction

TW: Blood

-----------------

A young werewolf stood in a clearing, looking up at the moon overhead. They growled, thinking of the mistreatment in their past. They hated how many hunters were out there, roaming the Earth. So many creatures- including this one- had been hurt by them, and were terrified they'd lose their life any day. Then an idea came to the pup.

'What if I made somewhere safe? Somewhere all creatures could go to find comfort...'

It only took the small werewolf a few seconds more before they started moving through the forest, looking for the perfect spot to create their safe-zone.

'It needs a name...' the creature thought. '... 'Twilight Seasons'. Yes. Perfect... 'Or OCsmp'... Or both!'

And with that, they slowly started planning for their perfect village, collecting the needed materials.

----------------

A girl walked through the city, glancing around nervously. She wore a pink shirt and ripped jeans. She was also accompanied by orange cat ears and a long orange tail. She was looking for food, as it wasn't very easy for her to buy it when she didn't have any money. Oftentimes, this cat person would steal food from another.

An angry shout from behind was suddenly heard. "HEY! IT'S YOU! GET AWAY FROM HERE, YOU LITTLE PEST!"

The cat person turned to see a human she'd recently 'borrowed' food from. He held what looked to be a tranquilizer gun in one of his hands, and the other was fumbling with a bag of darts. The hybrid's eyes widened, and she turned, running as fast as she could.

She looked over her shoulder to see the man was pursuing her, and yelped, somehow managing to move at an even faster pace. While she wasn't looking, she slammed head on into another person.

"Ack! I'm sorry! Uh- I'll just be on my way and-"

"Woah! No, no. It's fine. I-" the person paused, then whispered, "No, yeah, let's go. Like, right now."

The person'd probably seen the hybrid's pursuer, and grabbed her wrist, tugging her back into a run. When the cat-human finally reoriented herself, she could see that the person she'd ran into wasn't entirely a human, either. They had wolf ears and a tail, kind of like her, except... Well, wolf.

Suddenly, the wolf person let go of her hand, reaching up into a tree and pulling herself onto the lowest branch. The other hybrid followed her wolf counterpart, scrambling up the branches.

After a moment, the man ran past underneath them, not thinking to look up. Both hybrids were panting. The wolf person looked at the cat, then shoved their hand in their pocket and pulled out an apple, stretching their arm out to the cat hybrid.

"Hungry?" The wolf asked.

"... Yes."

The cat hybrid took the apple from them, quickly chewing it down to its core. When she finished, she dropped the apple core below her, then looked back up to the wolf hybrid.

"Thanks," she said with a small smile.

"Yeah! Of course!" the wolf chirped. "By the way, I'm Collie. How 'bout you? You got a name?" the wolf said, but the cat had zoned out.

"Helloooo?" 'Collie' said. They waved their hand in the cat person's face.

"Hum? Oh, uhm... Sorry..." the cat said.

Collie smiled. "It's okay! I asked for your name. Again, I'm Collie."

"Oh- My name's Ustaly."

"Well, 'Ustaly', I'm making a kind of safe haven for people like us, so we don't have to worry about being hunted. Would you like to joi-"

"I wanna be in it! Can I be in it?!"

Collie chuckled. "Yeah, of course! Come on, you can help me!"

----------------

A red-headed human with a rainbow bowtie, blue jeans, trans and rainbow socks, a button-up shirt and black, fingerless gloves walked on the outskirts of the city. Soon, they stopped their movement- however- as they'd stumbled upon an abandoned building. It was fairly big, and its windows were either cracked or boarded up.

'Huh. Strange.'

The person decided to look inside. The door was easy to push open, and once it was open, dim light lit what looked to be a daycare. It seemed to have been abandoned recently, and in quite the hurry.

'Boring. There's nothing here.'

The red head started to walk out, but something caught their eye. Light glistened off some kind of liquid near the entrance to a play house. The person squinted, then stepped closer. They gasped as they saw the red colorization.

'That... That's blood..."

A small, squeaky voice suddenly rang out. "Sir? What are you doing here?"

The person jumped, whipping their head around to look behind them. When they saw nothing, the fear only gripped tighter onto their heart.

"Down here!" the voice said.

The person looked down to see a small, fluffy animatronic at their feet, holding what looked to be a star. The person jumped back with a small yelp, almost tipping over.

"Uhm... Hey, bud," the person said with a nervous smile.

"Hii! I'm FunSun! What's your name?" the fluffy animatronic said. A wide smile was plastered across its face.

"Uh.. Y- yeah... So, uh... My name's Axel..."

FunSun looked up at Axel with curiosity swimming in their eyes. "That's cool! So, again, what're you doing here?"

The animatronic seemed to act much like a person of a younger age. '... Maybe it isn't dangerous. Maybe that's just juice from a juice box or something...'

After a moment, Axel picked FunSun up, staring into the fluffy creature's eyes. It let out a small giggle. Axel smiled.

"Maybe you can come with me."

FunSun gained a giddy look after those words. "Yes! Yes yes yes yes! Yes!"

-o-

The duo had wandered into the forest, and were now lost. FunSun had run all over the place, and Axel had had to chase after them. By now, they were very far into the tree-filled area. Eventually they found their way into a clearing, where a sign stood next to what looked to be the start of an entrance to a village.

"What does that say?" FunSun asked.

Axel looked at the animatronic. 'Can it not read?'

After a long pause, Axel read over the sign. "Twilight Seasons/OcSMP."

"Hello?" a voice called.

Axel flinched, slightly frightened, and moved to grab FunSun.

"Don't worry! I won't hurt you! I don't wanna hurt anybody. This place is supposed to be safe."

A person wearing a pink shirt and ripped jeans had said the words. They had ginger tabby ears and a long orange tail.

"Well... What's your name?" Axel questioned, still cautious.

"Ustaly. How 'bout you two?"

"I'm FunSun, your new best friend!" the little animatronic shouted.

Ustaly smiled. "Awe, that's cute. And you?"

Axel thought for a moment before speaking. 'It'll be fine. If you're kind to someone, they'll be kind to you.'

"I'm Axel."

"Alright then. Now, come on. Let's get you two to the person who's making this place."

-----------------

The crunch of leaves beneath worn slip-ons echoed through the forest as a figure trudged towards the sound of a string instrument. As she got closer, the girl tugged a musky blue jacket around herself, covering the faded yellow shirt she was wearing.

"What if this is a threat?"

"Shut up. It's not. They're just playing an instrument."

There was a quiet groan from the light footed 'companion' the girl had as the two trudged onward. The girl's dull green eyes flashed in annoyance. 'Why did I end up stuck with you, of all people?'

As the two finally broke into a clearing within the foliage, she could hear the soft hum of a melody turn into a confused "huh?" as the person before her turned its head from a guitar.

"I, Uhm... H- hi?"

The girl took a moment to fully register the sight. Her companion scoffed.

"A person with black wolf ears and a tail is sitting against a tree. They're getting ready to leap at you! Why aren't you running?" the nuisance of a follower muttered, yet the girl ignored them.

"Hello there, uhm... Flower crowned fellow! I promise there's no threat," the girl said.

"Was that directed at me or it?" the annoying companion spoke out.

Silence filled the gap between those words and the next, the wolf person seemingly contemplating their choices. As the peaceful sound of rustling leaves became uncomfortably loud, the wolf-human finally spoke up.

"You... Wanna come sit with me..?"

"Say no, I'm begging you!" the companion hissed to the girl.

Another pause before the girl answered, "... Sure."

As the girl moved to sit beside the wolf person, she waited for it to continue strumming whatever tune it had been before. Instead, they spoke once more.

"I'm Collie."

The human turned to the partial animal, only to see them still focused on their instrument.

"Well then... I'm Annebelle."

With that, silence overtook the clearing once more. Collie soon continued the melody they'd been playing before. However, the conversation wasn't over.

"I'm building a village. A place for strange people to be safe. If you'd like, you could come help me build it. We'll go whenever you're ready."

Once more, the frustratingly loud voice of Annebelle's companion blurted out something along the lines of "It's a trap!", but she ignored them again as she considered Collie's words.

"I guess I don't really have anything better to do..."

-----------------

A cat wandered around the gray, smoke filled city. The creature got many strange looks from passing humans as it walked by them, but tried to ignore it. 'I'm just a normal cat. Don't mind me and my weird colored fur and- Jeez, I need to get out of here.'

They burst into a dash and ran to the far side of the city, getting many yelps in return from the sudden panicked movement. Stone walls stood in certain areas around the large town, and beyond those walls stood a forest. 'I'd be safe there. No one goes past the walls.'

The cat moved into a good jumping position, shuffled backwards just a tiny bit, and leapt over the wall, only barely making it over. They glanced back at the city, then turned to the green foliage of the woods and hopped down onto the other side. Upon landing, the cat immediately made another little hop, not used to the feeling of grass beneath their paws. They sighed, then kneaded the ground for a moment, before walking further into the forest.

-o-

It'd been a few hours, and the darkness of night had quickly closed in. The dark clouds that'd rolled in overhead blocked out the light of the moon, making it hard to see... Well, at least for a human. Cats were crepuscular. They had good night vision, and were able to move gracefully through the forest. This cat was slightly different than most, however. It had a vibrant periwinkle pelt, with a violet cape and speckles of navy blue and indigo across their back; hence why they were so skittish around humans.

When people find something strange, different, or even just new, they have one of two reactions. They either marvel at the spectacularness of it, or they scream and run, fear taking control of their bodies. Both reactions usually led to the same thing, however: Captivity. That's what the cat thought, at least.

The clouds above started to drizzle rain down into the forest. A big drop of water hit the cat square on the nose, causing the animal to sneeze. They looked up, and as the rain grew heavier, they broke into a run, looking for cover. They soon found a large oak tree, and curled into the roots.

A voice suddenly rang out. "Hey! Lil' guy! Everything alright?"

The cat looked over and saw a person with brown hair, dull green eyes, a musky blue coat, and a faded yellow shirt, along with black jeans and gray slip-ons. The cat stared for a second. 'What is she doing out here? It's pouring!'

"Uhm, hello? Baby cat?" The human stepped closer, holding their hand out for the cat to sniff.

The cat wrinkled their nose at the person. "I'm fine, thank you very much... And I'm not a kitten."

The person flinched at the sound of the cat's voice, but didn't move. "Well then, uhm, talking cat, I'm Annebelle, and uhm, you might be safer with me. It ain't all that great out here near the hunters, and with a pelt like yours, you'd be a big, vibrant colored target."

The cat glared for a moment, then sighed and stood up, moving towards 'Annebelle'. They sniffed her hand, refusing to break eye contact, and then sat back with a small scoff.

"So, uhm, you got a name?"

The cat looked up at Annebelle's tired, curious eyes.

"..."

'Come on. She can't be that bad.'

"Vibo. Vibo the vibing cat."

"Well then- Vibo- looks like you've got a new acquaintance. I'm sure the Willows would, uhm... love to meet you."

"The Who's?"

Annebelle gave a small, strained chuckle. "You'll get to know them pretty quickly back where we're staying."

-----------------

A young girl ran through the forest, her blue hair and wolf fur flashing in the sunlight. Police were hot on her trail. Why were the police chasing her? Well, she'd gone and committed arson, that's why. This wolf-human wasn't exactly the most stable. Drugs were often the solution to her problems, along with skittles. Lots and lots of skittles.

As the girl ran, she stumbled into a clearing. Within the clearing stood a vibrant periwinkle cat, batting at a small bug. Upon hearing the crashing of the girl's speed, the cat looked up, giving a glare.

A sudden "WHERE'D SHE GO?" was heard in the distance.

To this, the strange colored cat's eyes widened, and they stood, jerking their head to signal the wolf person to follow. The hybrid did, quickly dashing after the now energy filled cat.

-o-

They'd been running for a while now, and the cat didn't seem to be slowing down.

"Where are we going!" the wolf girl called. The cat didn't respond, of course. It was a cat, after all.

It seemed the police had given up their chase a while ago, and there didn't seem to be much more of a reason to be running. After a couple seconds more, the cat stopped abruptly, causing the girl to trip over it.

She grunted as she hit the floor, then turned to the cat. "A little warning would've been nice!"

The cat snorted, eyes turning to slits. Then, they did something the girl never would've thought possible. They spoke.

"Hey! Axel! I found another one!" the cat called.

"Wha-" the blue wolf cut off as a red-headed male walked over.

"Oh. Uhm, hello. What's your name?" 'Axel' questioned.

The blue-haired hybrid waited a moment before responding. "... Moon."

"Hi then, Moon. I'm Axel. And this cat here is-"

"Vibo," the cat said, cutting Axel off. They gave a snobby, smug grin, then turned tail and walked back in the direction Axel had come from.

Axel sighed. "Don't worry about them. They're a little irritating at times. Come on. Let's get you situated in our... Half made village. You'll be safe there, and I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends."

------------------

The wind howled across the mountain, scraping against the cliff sides as the thunder roared in the distance. A conglomerate of clouds galloped across the gray skies, pushing one another closer to the rocky terrains the mountain possessed. It was as the clouds drew closer to the cliffs and caves that the leaves swindled, holding onto their branches. The mountain was home to forests and caves, ravines and craters, all of which were bound to be involved in the cloud's meddling.

It was soon after that the rain began, dropping into the many crevices and cracks in the ground as the thunder roared for the second time. In a matter of seconds, the rain's heaviness increased, quickly filling up the land with puddles which slowly grew in size, reaching out for more space. The warning had been given, and as such the true storm began.

Not too far away, near one of the mountain's highest altitudes, a forest- home to some of the tallest cliff sides- began to experience the downpour. The animals ran and jumped across the soil towards burrows and trees where they could endure the cloud's harsh punishment. Rabbits dug small holes to jump in, and used the soil as their main net of defense. Birds hid in holes as the rain clashed against the ground, splashing and flowing all over the terrain and soil. Foxes maneuvered and dodged the puddles and lakes that were quickly growing, running towards other places that no animal would know of.

A fox watched the struggles of the other animals, safe in a haven made by another, but not itself. It had been granted comfort, and came to know how fortunate he was compared to his companions. As the rain began to pelt against the windows of the home he had, the fox felt the warmth of the lanterns and lights inside its haven.

Startled, it looked up as a door suddenly opened, echoing the noise of the rain inside the wooden shack the fox was inside. Although slightly wet, a boy of serious demeanor entered his shack, quickly closing the door behind him so as not to allow his haven to become one of the victims of the storm. Lightning struck outside the shack, echoing loudly. The fox jumped at that, and swiftly made its way off of the wooden table it had been resting on. It landed on the noisy wooden planks that made up the shack's floor, then ran through the shack, finding shelter from the noise underneath a wooden bed.

The boy reached for a wooden nightstand, located alongside the bed. The stand had a water bottle and a lantern atop it. The boy opened one of its drawers and took out two unusually sharp rocks, grabbing them both in one hand. After closing the drawer, he headed towards a makeshift fireplace, which he'd made by hand.

The boy crouched and attempted to spark a flame by scraping the two rocks against each other near the wood and dry grass that had been placed inside the fireplace. Sparks flew off into the nearby rocks and wood as he kept scraping the two objects together. Soon, fire caught on the dry grass, spreading slowly to the wood near it. Taking a step back, the boy observed the fire as it steadily grew from its small size. After a moment, the flames stopped reaching out for more substances to grow on, blocked by the carefully placed layer of rocks that stopped it from reaching the wood of the shack.

The boy took off his cyan jacket, hanging it on a string near the fireplace. Warmth slowly spread across the room as the boy walked towards a wooden chair near a window. Sitting down, he saw the rain had enacted its punishment, swallowing most of the nearby land. Only those above- on trees and hills- had been lucky enough to not deal with the push and pulls of the puddles, mini waves colliding with each other as more rain fell onto the muddy soil.

Twice was heard intrusive knocking, causing the boy to move away from the window. Unsure of what to do, he peeked out of a small carved hole in the door, looking for the person he was bound to deal with. There were some figures standing on the mud and soil, but the faces were simply blocked by the white-esque wall of rain.

Although he didn't want to socialize at the moment, some part of him took pity upon the figures. That was rare, to say the least. Wasting no time more, he opened the door and moved out of the way. The people were revealed to, in fact, not be people at all. They were a group of monsters and creatures, wolves and other animals. A motley crew, of sorts.

After closing the door, the boy and the group eyed each other. Although he wasn't expecting them to be as they were, he had no issue with them being animals. He wasn't expecting so many traveling in one group, though. There were around eight of them, standing on the wooden planks. Sighing, the boy said the first words.

"And you are?"

He couldn't see all of them, as those with more height were blocking the other's from his view. There was a wolf-human hybrid wearing a pink, long sleeved shirt, an animatronic of sorts, another wolf-human, this time with blue hair and a red turtleneck, and the others standing behind.

"Thanks for letting us in," someone from the crowd said. The boy couldn't tell exactly whom because there were so many of them.

Sighing, the boy sat down on the wooden chair beside him. "Name's Absolute. Make yourself at home for now."

He looked out the window, observing the still falling rain. The fox observed the many creatures from underneath the bed.

"So, uh, Absolute?" the boy heard as someone approached him. Turning around, he saw the short, pink shirted wolf-human walking towards him. They continued, "Thanks- again- for letting us inside."

Absolute nodded. "No need to thank me. When this rain clears you can head back outside," he replied, looking at the creatures huddled around the fireplace.

The hybrid looked back to them as well. "Most humans aren't normally kind to us, so I'm glad we can stay here for a while," they added, looking at the fox cuddled under the bed.

"And those are your friends?" Absolute questioned.

"AhA, I'm making a safe haven for creatures like them. That way we don't have to be worried about being hunted."

"Didn't know you were being hunted. Haven't been to the city in a while. Last time I checked y'all were on good terms. Things change, I guess," Absolute replied.

"Would you like to join, Absolute?" the hybrid asked, kindness in their eyes.

Absolute sighed. "I'm not a creature like you guys. Not to say I support the hunting of people like you, it's just, it's really not an issue I can tackle."

The wolf thought for a moment. Then she replied, "Anything helps really. Plus, you do have a house, so it would be great if you could lend it to us while we work on our village."

Absolute looked around. The shack wasn't too big, but it was away from the populace and hard to find. The very reason he had built it in the first place was to be away from the crowds and attention of the city.

Absolute was alone. He didn't think he really cared about the fact, but he had no one besides himself and his fox. Absolute was fully detached from all socialization in his life, for better or worse. He didn't want the attention, he never did.

But maybe it was time to slowly come back into some semblance of society. He hadn't thought about how long it had been. A year? Two? He couldn't remember the last time he heard a washing machine or saw a billboard sign. Besides, it was for a good cause wasn't it? There was really nothing stopping him from helping them, besides his apathy and laziness. Absolute knew those were bad qualities, and the only way to fix bad habits is discipline. Doing the hard work, especially when you didn't want to. So maybe it was-

"Hello?" the hybrid asked, staring into Absolute's black face. He had been zoned out for quite some time now, hadn't he?

"Alright, I'll join. I want to meet all of you before I can say for sure, but I have the intention of doing so," he said. Maybe he'd regret that, or maybe not. Time would tell.

"Mkay, thanks," the wolf finished as she backed away from Absolute. She turned and sat near the fireplace with the rest of the mythical creatures.

------------------

A young adult with black hair, a purple shirt with an emoji-like face on it, ripped jeans, claws, and a long, black tail walked through the forest. The animal parts of them highly represented a pangolin, however they were stitched on, as the parts often fell off. The hybrid was looking for a place to stay the night, as it was getting fairly dark.

'Come on. There's gotta be somewhere...'

------------------

A white fairy moth with purple wings walked silently through a cave. It was lit by many glowing crystals and mushrooms, and pools of water were scattered here and there. The quiet sound of waterfalls could be heard in the distance.

Eventually, the moth found what looks to be a portal. They'd been coming to this portal for about a week now. They'd been curiously cautious around it, though. Now, the moth had decided it was time to see what was within the portal. They moved through it, and- after a few moments- passed out.

-o-

Waking a small while later, the moth looked around confusedly. They were in a cave, but it was a different cave. A huge lake laid in front of the moth, and a hole overhead created a skylight. Moonlight danced on the lake's surface, lighting the rest of the cave. The portal was nowhere to be seen.

'Where am I?' the moth thought. After a moment, they stood, flying their way out of the skylight and into a nearby forest. As they did so, they questioned their strange new surroundings, wondering where the way home was.

-o-

As the moth walked through the forest, they continuously were distracted by flowers they passed by. One flower distracted them so much that they didn't see the person ahead of them.

They walked into the person, causing the other to yelp, as they hadn't seen the fairly short moth fairy. The two fell, one tripping upon the other, and landed on the grass covered soil. The person groaned, but sat up, turning to the moth.

After a moment, the moth turned to look at the person. This person looked funny, though. They had dark claws for hands, a long, black tail, and ripped jeans that allowed you to see dark, stitched on legs. When the moth looked back to the person's arms, they could see that they had also been stitched on.

"I'm sorry! Are you okay?" the stitched up hybrid asked.

The moth fairy looked up to their eyes, and was met with yellow, reptilian slitted pupils. They could also see that the person's head had also been stitched on like the rest of their limbs.

The moth blinked before answering, still registering the situation. "Yeah... How about you?"

"Oh, I'm fine." the stitched hybrid said, standing up. "I'm Pango, by the way."

The moth blinked. "Well then, uh, 'Pango'. I'm Astari."

Pango blinked. "Nice to meet you. Say, need a place to stay the night?"

Astari paused, then nodded. "Yeah, I do."

-o-

It'd been a few days now. Pango and Astari had become quick friends, and the two had ended up exploring the forest, always ending up back at the makeshift camp Pango had shown Astari to the first night they'd stayed together.

As of right now, the two were sitting on a mountainside, staring over the forest. They'd been talking about how Pango's limbs always fell of, alas why they'd been stitched on, until a sudden whisper came from beside them.

"Hey! Psst! Over here!"

Both creatures looked over and saw a black werewolf.

"Yeah?" Pango said.

The werewolf didn't respond. Rather, it just waved for the two to come over. The duo looked at each other, blinked, then looked back. After a moment, they complied to the werewolf and stood, walking over.

"Heyo! Um, what are you two doing out in the open?" the creature asked.

"Talking?" Astari said.

"Well... Yeah... But- Ugh." The werewolf sighed, then pointed at Astari. "You."

"Me?"

"Yes, you. You should stay hidden. Hunters will find you, see how strange you are, and then set you up as this big target to hunt for. A bounty."

"What?"

"Humans hunt people like us. We're weird. Out of the ordinary. I'm a werewolf, and you... You're a big, talking moth." The werewolf then turned to Pango. "You are a stitched up hybrid. Imagine how crazy people would go to get a look at you. You get caught and you'll be up on display for sure."

"I've never had that problem... Though I don't socialize very often," Pango replied, whispering the last part.

"Well, the humans in this part hate mythical creatures. They kill them to make sure they won't hurt anyone, though we never do anyways," the wolf-human said.

Astari didn't say anything. They just stared.

'That's horrible! If they aren't causing trouble, why would you ever want to kill them?'

"Oh, where's my manners? I'm Collie. To prevent everything I just said, I'm building a safe haven. You should come with me. You wouldn't have to worry about being hunted! There's a few others you can meet there that are just like you!" Collie said.

Pango and Astari looked at each other, then looked back at Collie. The three stood simultaneously, and then started off into the forest, Collie in the lead.

------------------

Blue scales shivered as the dragon donning them slept. A sudden hitch in breathing before a deep breath showed that the dragon had woken. She sat up, stretching her neck and wings with a yawn. After, she stood, flicking her tail as she did so. It hit something, causing the object to tumble down over the edge of the branch the dragon had been sleeping on.

The dragon looked down, then opened their wings and glided down to the forest floor where the object had fallen. It was a small rock, which had cracked open due to the impact of falling. The now cracked open rock was revealed to be a blue and purple geode.

'Huh, strange. I've never seen one of these in the forest.'

Curious, the dragon leaned down to touch the object. The moment she did, a dizzy, nauseous feeling filled her head. A few moments later, she blacked out.

-o-

Waking, the blue-scaled dragon looked around. The geode wasn't there.

'Hm. Weird... Whatever. That's fine.'

At least, 'fine' is what it seemed to be. After a few moments, the dragon noticed something. The trees around her weren't the tall jungle trees she was familiar with. Rather, they were oaks and pines. A small panic rose in the dragon's chest as she realized she was in an unfamiliar area, but she pushed the feeling away.

'It's fine. I probably just flew somewhere and then forgot about it... Why would I forget about it, though?'

After a small second of laying in the grass and swishing leaves around with her tail, the dragon stood to look around for another person who could help point her back to the rainforest.

'It's no biggie. I'll be home in no time.'

-o-

The dragon had found a small group discussing something. She had been listening to them for a while, but couldn't quite make out their words from the distance she was at. She grunted in frustration as a butterfly landed on her snout. The delicate wings tickled her scaly snout, causing her to sneeze.

Suddenly, the noise from the clearing stopped. The dragon looked over the foliage she hid behind to see the entire group staring at her.

"What're you doing out here?" a fluffy, moth-like creature snapped. It then gasped. "Are you spying on us?"

"Hey! Be nice, hairball." A human with what looked to be wolf ears and a tail had said that.

The next words came from a person that had scaly, stitched on appendages, and a purple shirt. "Stop it, you two."

The dragon looked around at the group. There were four of them. The moth, the hybrid, the stitched, scaly one, and a redhead with a rainbow bowtie.

'They don't seem that bad. Come on, talk to them. Maybe they know how you got here.'

"Um... Hello. I'm Tropic and... Well, I'm not entirely sure how I got here." the dragon said, stepping out of the bushes and into the clearing.

"Oo~ A dragon!" the wolf hybrid chirped.

"Hello. I'm Pango. Uh, what can we do for you?" the scaly one said.

"Do you by any chance know how to get back to the rainforest?"

Pango stared for a second. "There is no rainforest around here... You could stay with us for the meantime. While you're looking, I mean."

The moth creature blinked. "Hi! I'm Astari. Nice to meet you. This annoying fluff over here is-"

"SHUT-" the wolf suddenly shouted, cutting Astari off. They paused, then cleared their throat, starting again with a smile. "Hello, awesome blue talking dragon! I'm Collie."

"And I'm Axel," the redhead spoke calmly.

"So-" Collie started, only to be cut off by Axel.

"You should probably come to OcSMP, AKA Twilight Seasons. You know, sense you'll be hunted out here and all," Axel said.

Collie glared at them. "Coulda said it a little nicer."

"Hunted?" Tropic questioned, confusion dancing in their eyes.

"Yeah. Mythical creatures- or anything like them- are hunted around here," Axel explained.

"Oh... I probably should come with you, then," Tropic said with a nervous laugh.

"Great! We're looking for more members for our village, after all!" Collie shouted. The group then walked off into the oaks and pines of the unfamiliar forest.

------------------

A demon walked on the outskirts of the forest. What they were doing, they weren't quite sure. Eventually, a young adult with black hair, a purple shirt, and ripped jeans came into view. The person also had claws. They saw the demon as it walked slowly towards them.

"So... Watcha doing out here?" The demon asked, a small smile tugging at the edge of their lips.

"Nothing. Just tryna get away from some drama, y'know?" the young adult replied. They had a slightly skeptical look on their face as their eyes scanned the demon.

"Drama?" The demon questioned.

"Yeah. Back where I live, everyone's fighting, and the person who runs the place went out for supplies, so no one's there to shut everybody up."

"Ah," the demon said. "Sketch."

"Hm?"

"My name. Sketch," 'Sketch' said once more.

"Hm... Well, I'm Pango, and- well, since you're a demon- I have a feeling you might have trouble with hunters?"

Sketch paused for a moment, thinking, then nodded. "Yes, I indeed do."

Pango looked Sketch over one more time, then sighed- with a smile- and said, "Where I live might be a little chaotic at times, but there's plenty of people to make friends with, and you won't have to worry about being hunted there."

Sketch stared at Pango, then replied, "Sounds like fun. Let's go." As they said it, a spark of malice flickered through their eyes.

Pango blinked at Sketch, then nodded, walking into the line of trees beside them.

------------------

A demon dashed through the forest, their short, brown hair whipping across their face. People chased after her, waving their weapons around angrily.

"GET BACK HERE, DEMON!" one of the hunters yelled. The demon just kept running, weaving between trees and jumping over roots as she tried to lose the hunters. A cave came into view, and the demon dashed into it, pressing her back against the wall. The hunters ran past, a few pausing to look at the cave, but giving up as their group got further away.

After a moment, the demon peaked her head out of the mouth of the cave, and- seeing that nobody was around- sighed in relief, relaxing. The moment of calm didn't last very long, however, as sudden speaking flicked on a switch of fear in the demon's mind.

"Hello there. Are you lost?"

The demon slowly turned to see another of their kind standing behind them. She relaxed once more, giving another sigh- irritated this time.

"No, I'm perfectly fine... Kind of..."

The other demon snickered. "Running through the forest unguided ain't that smart, even if you're running away from hunters," they said.

The first demon's eyes widened. "How did-"

"I saw it. You're pretty fast on your feet. Anyways, my name's Sketch."

The first demon hesitated- as they knew how terrible other's of their kind could be- but after a moment said, "My name's Mavi."

"You should come by where I stay. It's safe there. No hunters can get in," Sketch said.

Mavi glanced around, then looked back at Sketch.

'They seem friendly enough.'

"Yeah, sure. That'd be great."

A person walked along the coastline of an ocean, their brown and pink ombré hair blowing in the wind. A couple strands of their hair would continuously get caught on on the ram horns protruding from their head, their gray boots crunching the sand as they walked. Soon, the goat-human hybrid saw two figures ahead of them. The figures seemed to notice him, too.

As he got closer, the hybrid could see that the other two people were both hybrids like him, one being an orange cat, and the other being a wolf.

The goat hybrid approached them. "Hello?"

"Hey!" the wolf hybrid shouted with a smile.

"Hello," the cat hybrid said, their tone much calmer than the other's.

"I'm Collie! What's your name?" the wolf hybrid questioned.

"I'm XW," the goat hybrid said. They looked at the cat hybrid expectantly.

"Oh. I'm Ustaly," they said with a small smile.

Collie looked over XW, then said, "There's hunters in these parts. I'm sure you know that, so, would you like to come to the village I'm creating? It'll be a safe haven for people like us!"

XW hesitated, then smiled. "Alright..."

Walking along the outskirts of the city, a person wearing a green frog hoodie- along with some jeans and a crown- glanced around at the other civilians. They eventually spotted the person they'd been looking for. The person wore a misty pink shirt with white spots and a black question mark on it, white jeans, and black boots with fur. Their red eyes and wolf ears, along with a matching tail made them easy to spot.

"Collie!" The frog-hooded person shouted, running over and hugging the wolf hybrid.

"Frogg? Frogg! Hello!" Collie said, hugging back.

"How're you doing?" Frogg asked, smiling at their old friend.

"Good! You?" Collie replied.

"Good, Good," Frogg said.

The two stood in silence for a moment, before Collie spoke once more. "I'm making a sort of safe haven, for mythical creatures like me. Would you like to come and help me?"

Frogg blinked, then smiled. "Yeah, of course!"

"Alright! Let's go."

A brown haired vampire with a black cardigan and magenta undershirt walked through the dimly lit forest. The moon wasn't shining very bright tonight, allowing the unusually green eyes of the vampire to glow lightly. They spotted another vampire, walking over.

"Hey Alton."

The other vampire turned around. "Hello, Ian."

Alton then handed Ian a 'CapriSun'. Ian drank it, and then the two decided to walk and talk, sticking to the shade so any passing hunters didn't see them. Eventually, the two parted ways, Alton leaving to get more 'CapriSuns'. Ian continued walking, enjoying nature's beauty. Then, Ian spotted someone he thought he recognized.

They had dark, medium length hair with black wolf ears topping their head and tail sticking out from under their shirt. The eye not covered with the dark hair lightly glowed red in the darkness. Ian smiled, recognizing his little sibling immediately.

"Hey Collie!" Ian called out. The wolf hybrid looked over to Ian, stopping their conversation with some unfamiliar people.

"Oh- Ian! Hello!" Collie smiled, waving.

The people Collie'd been talking to held confused gazes as they watched Ian walk over, unknowing of the connection between the two.

"Hello. I'm Ian, Collie's brother."

One of the people narrowed their eyes before saying, "I'm Sketch."

The other- much shorter, with a metallic look to them- said, "And I'm FunSun!"

Collie smiled at the two, then turned back to Ian. "I'm creating a safe place for strange creatures like us. Would you like to come? There's plenty more people there," Collie said.

"Sure! I'd love to," Ian replied, smiling.

A guy with brown, cyan tipped hair walked through the streets of the city. The drawstring of his purple hoodie danced as he moved, bobbing up and down in rhythm with his steps. Turning the corner of a street, he bumped into another man.

"Hey! Have you seen any mythical creatures around?" the man asked him. He had a deep voice and a large scar over his left eye.

"No, I haven't," the first person responded.

"Hm. Well, you're a waste of time, then," the man said, shoving past the younger person and walking off.

The person sighed, whispering, "Could've said that a little nicer."

They continued their walk through the city, eventually coming up on an alleyway. Out of curiosity, they stopped and peeked inside. Someone was digging through crates, stealing the supplies within.

'What the- That's not good!.. I should do something...'

"Uh Hey-"

The thief turned around, yelping and tripping over.

"Oh! Are you okay?" the male said, moving closer to see if the person was hurt. He gasped when he realized that he wasn't talking to a human. Rather, a red haired demon stood in front of him, holding something unidentifiable in their hands.

"... So, Watcha doing back here?" The demon asked with a nervous laugh, attempting small talk.

"Well, I was just-"

"Vas! Hello," a familiar voice said. A dark haired person with a purple shirt peeked out from behind another crate.

'Vas' paused, staring. "Pango?"

The person smiled, hearing their name, and said "So, I see you've met Sketch?" They pointed to the demon.

"Yep. My name's Sketch," the demon said, seemingly calmed down. They also seemed a little smug, maybe by the fact that they were likely going to get away with the crime.

"Pango, Sket-" a black wolf hybrid stuck their head out of another box, stopping mid sentence as they saw Vas. "I- Uhm-"

"Don't worry, Collie. Vas won't hurt us. Or anyone, really," Pango said with a small chuckle. Vas also gave a small, nervous laugh.

Collie sighed in relief. "Well, hello!" they said. After a moment, they continued to look through the crates.

Vas blinked, worried. 'What have you gotten yourself into, Pango?'

"You wanna come back to our place, Vas? It's a safe haven for mythical creatures, like me, so we don't have to worry about being hunted. There's a few good humans there, too," Pango said.

Vas started to reject the offer, but remembered the man he'd ran into less than fifteen minutes before. '... It's safer for Pango... Maybe this is a good thing...'

A small sigh, before, "Yeah, okay. I wanna be sure you're safe."

------------------

A small, cream and pastel violet creature walked across the forest floor, his chest fluff blowing in the wind as he crunched through leaves. What was the little floof doing? Looking for shoes, of course! Who wouldn't? After a long day of searching, he'd added about five to his stash, when he suddenly ran up on a person. The little creature blinked.

"Oh, hello there, little guy. I'm XW. You got a name?" the goat-horned person said, crouching down and holding out their hand with a smile.

"Ender," he said.

"Well, Ender, wanna come with me?" XW asked.

"No. I'm finding shoes."

"Well, we have a bunch of shoes back where I live."

"... Okay, fine. But I'm leaving once I get my shoes."

XW chuckled, smiling. "We'll see."
