Chapter 12: Bon Fires

Sunday morning I had left Caroline's place. Last night sleep over was fun, until we fell asleep on each other. I was texting Caroline and Bella both while walking my way home. When I got in front of my house, I noticed my dad's car is home. That's funny! I unlocked the front door with my keys and slowly stepped inside. I smell cook sausages and bacon as I dropped my pink sleeping bag on the floor and hurry off towards the kitchen. Dad must be already up.

"Good morning daddy!" I smiled.

My dad was at the stove cooking breakfast. That's a first, usually I'm the one cooking breakfast!

"Good morning pumpkin, I didn't hear you come in!" he says, while pouring pancake batter into a pan.

I walked over to the fridge and got myself a cup of orange juice. "Decided to cook breakfast today, huh?"

He smirked, "I figured you would be tired from last night at the sleep over. So, I decided to cook today!"

I laughed, "Just don't burn the pancakes, dad!"

He rolled his eyes. I continued to laugh while leaving out the kitchen. I headed upstairs to my room so I could change. When I got inside my bedroom, I realize my window was left open. I wonder who done that? I never leave my window open. Especially when I'm gone the whole day! Someone has been in here...

I checked my closet and underneath my bed. Not a soul to be found. Maybe I'm just having one of those crazy days. I started undressing my self, taking off my shirt and leaving on my yellow bra. Just then, the bedroom door had slammed shut. It caused for me to jump and turn around. I'm assuming it came from the wind. I walked over to my bedroom window and closed it. The moment I turned around, I had bump my chest into someone else. I looked up and saw that it was Jacob. I was about to scream, until he placed his massive hand over my mouth.

WHAT.THE.HELL.

I snatched his hand from off of my mouth. I quickly grabbed a blanket from off my bed and covered my whole chest. Luckily he hadn't paid attention.

"Okay, you really have to stop with the sneaking up on me thing!" I frowned. "What the hell are you doing inside my room? If my dad comes in and see's you, I'm completely dead."

Jacob took a seat at the foot of my bed. "Your right, I'm sorry. I came to ask you something!"

"Like what? Can it at least wait until I finish undressing myself??" I asked, still feeling pissed.

Jacob had saw where I was covering my blanket and smirked. "Sure, go ahead."

I rolled my eyes at him. If he thinks I'm going to change in front of him, that's defiantly not going to happen.

"I'm going to the bathroom. Be back in a sec!" I say, while exiting outside my room door with clothes in my hands.

Within minutes, I came back in. I was dressed in tom boy clothes. My hair was nice and wavy, just the way I like it. I didn't put on any shoes, so I just walked around in my colorful socks. I stood in front of Jacob with my hands on my hips. If he wanted to come over, he could of asked!

"So, what do you have to tell me?" I asked. "It better be good!"

Jacob stood up from off my bed. "Actually, it is."

"Spill."

"Tonight there's a bonfire at La Push Beach. I was wondering if you'd like to come? I mean, you don't have to if your'e busy. I completely understand!"

I made a smile, "If it's okay with my dad, then yes I would like to come Jacob!"

He nodded, "Alright. Just let me know!"

I watched him pull something from out of his pocket. It was a wrinkled piece of notebook paper. He held it out for me to take and I slowly took it.

"Here's my number! Call or text me if your not coming." he says.

I nodded with another smile. "Will do!"

Jacob returned the smile. He began walking towards my window, raising it up high and climbing out of it. I covered my mouth with a gasp.

"Jacob, don't do that. You can use my front door, I can sneak you out!" I say.

Jacob snorted. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing Grace. I've done it a million times!"

I watched him exit out my window. Just as I rushed over, he stood on top of my roof.

"Jacob!" I yelled.

It seems as if he was ignoring me. He had took a nice jump from off of my roof and rushed over toward the woods.

"Don't forget to call!" he yells back.

Within minutes Jacob had disappeared. All I could see now were trees in my back yard. How in the hell did he jump off my roof without getting hurt? Strange, just strange. After I closed my window for the third time, I went downstairs to ask my dad if I could join Jacob at tonight's bonfire. When I got back into the kitchen I saw dad, Conner, and Hailey all eating at the table. I sat at a empty chair and began to eat my food quickly so I can ask dad about the bonfire.

"Hey, dad?"

Dad didn't look up. He was busy scanning his eyes through a newspaper.

"Yes, Grace?" he answered.

I made the most cutest puppy eyes. "Can I pretty please go out with a friend tonight?"

"And who must be this friend be?"

"Probably Jacob!" snickered Conner.

I stuck my tongue at him. Hailey punched Conner in his shoulder, meaning to tell him shut up.

My dad sat down his newspaper on the table. He looked half surprised, half curious.

"What is Conner talking about?" he asked.

I looked down. "Jacob is my guy friend. I met him by Bella...he's her best friend."

"So, what are you trying to ask me? You want to hang with this guy??"

I tilt my head back up, nervous to what my dad's reaction or response may be. I slowly nodded my head. My dad took his hand so he could scratch his beard.

"Hmmm, I don't know Grace. You know how I am when you're with guys." He says, unsure.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh come on dad, I'm almost eighteen! Plus me and Jacob are just friends, nothing more."

Hailey nodded, "She's right dad. I've met him before!"

Dad looked at Hailey. "When?"

Hailey looked around. "Uh, a few days ago at school..."

Hailey didn't want to mention the time Jacob had came over while Dad was at work. If she told him, dad probably would've exploded. He doesn't really like teenage boys over our house. They cause a lot of trouble. In my perspective I cant ever imagine Jacob being that way. He seems way behaved and smart. Dad may like him, if he gets the chance to meet him.

"Where is he taking you?" he asked me.

"To a bonfire!" I replied. "It's tonight located at La Push Beach."

"Bonfire huh? Hmmm..."

I started making puppy eyes again. "Oh please daddy? Please can I go! I'm sure we're not going to be the only ones there. Bonfires usually have a lot of people."

My dad stared at me for a few minutes, then looked back down at his newspaper. He nodded his head, "Alright, go on ahead. But be back before it gets too late!"

I made a huge smile and got out my seat to hug him. "Oh thank you, thank you!"

Once breakfast was over, I went back upstairs to my room. I text Jacob to let him know I'll be coming to the bonfire later on.

Me: Hey Jacob, its Grace! My dad said I'm allowed to go to the bonfire tonight (:

Jacob: Perfect, you're going to love it! I'll come by later to pick you up at 7.

Me: Cool. I'll be ready then!

(End of messages...)

(Later on at 7:00pm)

It's now time for the bonfire at La Push Beach tonight, yay! I had no clue what to wear. So, I wore something normal. A pair of black shorts and a blue tank top. I wanted to walk in flip-flops this time to show off my nicely done pedicure. My hair is fixed into a neat high pony tail. All I have to do is wait for Jacob to call and say he's out front.

Just as I was about to add a bit more cherry lip gloss to my lips, my cell phone had rung. Jacob is calling and that means he's outside waiting for me. I quickly raced my way down the stairs and opened the front door. There stood Jacob with a happy smile. He was dressed this time with a different outfit from earlier. He's wearing a black leather jacket with some casual jeans and regular shoes. To sum it all up, he looked great to me and smelled very good. I love it when guys wear cologne <3

"Hey!" he greets.

"H-hey." I shyly stuttered.

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah, let me just tell my dad that im leaving!"

"No need, im already here." said a voice.

I turned around and saw standing behind me all along was my father. Greaaat...

"You must be Jacob, my daughter's guy friend?" he asks, while crossing his arms.

I heard Jacob gulp and chuckled. "Dont worry, my dad isnt going to hurt you Jake. Not well im hear!"

Jacob nodded his head, "Y-yeah. Im just taking her to a nice bon fire sir. That's all!"

My dad nodded his head in return, "Make sure she has plenty of fun!"

I rolled my eyes. "Dad, this isnt a date!"

"I still want you to have fun." my dad smirks, while patting my head. "Now go on, call when you're on your way back!"

I nodded and followed Jacob to a car that was parked nicely in front of my house. It was a Volkswagen Rabbit. So, he does have a car?

"Since when you have a car?" I asked, with a grin.

"Got it last year." he says, while unlocking the doors so we could get in.

Jacob started up the car. I let down the window, so I could wave at my dad who continuously watched us from the porch. Jacob pulled off into the road. I fastened up my seat belt as he pressed a bit hard on the gas, causing the ride to go somewhat fast.

When we made it to the beach, Jacob parked the car just before the sandy beach and got out unlocking the doors. I followed, slamming the door shut and examining the whole beach. The view is very breath taking.

"Wow, it's beautiful." I say.

Jacob took my hand into his with a smile. "Come on, there's others I would like for you to meet first!"

"Okay." I smiled back.

OH.MY.GOD.

Jacob is holding my hand I must be dreaming. Wait, what the hell am I saying O.o? I mean we're just friends. Friends hold each other hands...right?

Jacob had drugged me up to a house not too far away from the beach. It was a few trees here and there, but I loved how the outside looked. I noticed the front door is opened. We both stepped in and Jacob sadly had let go of my hand. Nooooo!!! DX

The first thing I had smelled was food. It smells very delicious and it was making me hungry. Someone is cooking. I couldn't wait to find out who, because Jacob is leading me right towards the kitchen.

"Emily?" he called, before entering inside the kitchen.

"Jacob!" chirped a voice. "You made it just in time! I was wrapping up the food so we can carry it up to the bonfire. I told Paul, Quil, and Embry to come help me. Of course they don't listen to anything I say when it comes to playing football!"

Jacob made a chuckle. "Here, I'll take those trays from off your hands."

"Thank you, Jacob."

I watched Jacob take two trays wrapped in foil from out of the women's hands. She then faced me, happening to notice my presence. She is indeed beautiful. Her hair was braided into to nice pony tails. I saw three long scars cover up half of her face. I didn't want to stare because, well...that's disrespectful.

"Hey, Jake. Who your friend you brought?" she asked.

I smiled, extending out my hand for her to shake. "Hello, my name is Grace Baker!"

Jacob smiled. "She's my friend, Grace also knows Bella too. They met at school..."

The woman made a warm smile after shaking my hand. "Nice, I'm Emily!"

"I can help carry some of the food too. That's if you want me to?" I offered.

Emily turned around to get two other trays from off the counter.

"Thanks for asking, I need all the help I can get!" she says.

I took the trays from out of her hands and followed Jacob out the house. We walked back to the beach, walking a bit further down. I can tell the bonfire is up ahead because, I can see black smoke. When we got there, we sat the trays down on a white long table. Other food was placed there too and it made me more hungry just looking at it.

"Man, Emily must had cooked all this stuff on her own!" I say.

Jacob nodded, "She is the chef in house hold. Emily makes amazing food!"

I chuckled, "Cant wait to try it!"

Jacob chuckled as well. He then grabbed my hand again, "The bonfire is about to start. Come on!"

OH.MY.GOD.

He's touching the hand! ^__^. Wait no, pull yourself together Grace.

Hope this bonfire will be fun. Cant wait to meet other people as Jacob promised me inside the car. So far, I've met Emily and she's seem very welcoming. Maybe the other's are like that too.
