Plot

FernClan is a kind, welcoming clan, who often allow loners and kittypets to join their ranks.

Cats in the clan are friendly, trying to avoid unnecessary conflict with AshClan and StreamClan, the more ruthless clans.

However, when a strange rogue named Hound joins the clan and is made Houndfeather, be begins working his way towards leadership. After the deputy, Mistbloom's mysterious murder, he is made deputy.

Eventually, Moonstar is killed in battle and Houndfeather becomes the new leader - Houndstar.

Sparrowshade, a loyal warrior, distrusts the tom and know that him being leader is terrible.

Houndstar is ruthless and cold, even killing his own daughter, Aspenkit, for playing with a piece of fresh-kill.

Then, it gets worse.

He bans the medicine cat, Aldersong, from visiting the Moonstone every half moon. Houndstar declares that StarClan is stupid and that they shouldn't believe in it.

Over the next few moons, he decides to rip everything related to StarClan from the clan - apart from his nine lives. 

Finally, he kills Aldersong and his apprentice, Featherpaw.

Sparrowshade is horrified and tells Houndstar that nobody will be able to be healed now.

He doesn't care, saying that plenty of cats in the clan know how to heal, despite the fact that nobody has.

An ex-kittypet named Deerbranch takes up the role as medicine cat, or 'medic' as Houndstar calls it. 

Moons pass and everyone is forgetting about StarClan, apart from Sparrowshade.

She is met by Aldersong in her dreams and he tells her that she is the last hope at stopping StarClan being forgotten and soon, destroyed.

Aldersong shows Sparrowshade that StarClan is shrinking and its' inhabitants are fading away because of it.

Sparrowshade promises to restore StarClan.

Tips

Focus on Houndstar's hatred for StarClan and give him a strong reason why he wants the clan to stop believing in it.

Remember how important StarClan is to Sparrowshade and show her anger, fear and sadness when Aldersong and Featherpaw are killed.
