Wolf Girl
Twilight, Jacob FemOc fanfic, slow start but gets better.
Kamari was adopted by Sue and Harry Clearwater when she was a baby, not long before they had Seth. Raised as one of their own, Seth and Leah have always seen her as their sister, that was until of late. Harry had a heart attack while on a hunting trip with a few others and since then, the Clearwaters have done nothing but distance themselves from Kamari. She's never felt so isolated, always feeling like she was part of the family, but now, she's not so sure. Why is her family avoiding her? What secrets are they hiding? Why is it so important that Kamari not know?
Kamari's P.O.V
I pulled the top of my hair up in a half-up, half-down bun, all of it braided in twists to keep my natural dark curls under control. It was a new year, my first day of year twelve and I was excited. Soon I would join Leah in the world of adults. The notion of being free from school would delight most, but I knew I wanted to go straight into university afterwards anyway.
I finished off my hair and pulled my Doc's on over my fluffy bed socks. I was dawned in my usual attire, jeans and a t-shirt with my favourite denim jacket. It had a number of cool patches embroidered onto it, ghosts, werewolves, vampires, dragons, sirens, and aliens. Each time I got a new patch mum would sew it on for me. I was all about the weird and whacky, the Paranormal, the supernatural, the extraterrestrial, it was all my kinda thing. I'd embroider them on myself, but I wasn't good at that sorta stuff.
I liked going hiking, swimming at the beach, and camping, and fishing with dad and Seth. Leah usually didn't come with us, shopping or hanging with her boyfriend Sam Uley most of the time. That was until recently of course, when he left her for our cousin Emily Young. We'd spent more and more time together as I helped her get over him and we gossiped and bagged him out. His name was like a swear in our household.
I ducked across the hall and into the bathroom. Seth was already in there brushing his teeth. He gave me a big grin full of toothpaste. I chuckled, but burst into laughter when some dribbled down his chin, forcing him to lean forward to avoid it landing on his shirt, only for his long, shoulder length hair to stick to it. I laughed at him as he pulled the hair off his face and scowled at me before spitting.
"Don't laugh it's not funny." He said as he tried to glare at me, but like usual he just looked an angry toddler. He rinsed his hair out as I started brushing my teeth, rufflng his hair with my free hand. It was nearly rivalling Leah's. Mine was longer then both theirs combined, I'd I like to think I got it from mum, but I was adopted and that's not how it works.
Seth and I had always been two pees in a pod, as most of his young life he spent cling to me, not having many friends and the age gap between him and Leah being so big. I loved messing with my little brother, but I was always sure to let him know I was joking and that I would beat anyone who hurt him. He knew I was serious and that Leah, mum and dad wouldn't be far behind, we were close knit and took care of each other.
"Are you nearly ready cause I wanna meet up with Jake and the others before the bell?" Seth asked as he wiped his face on the edge of the hand towel and I spat and rinsed my mouth. I nodded and gargled before drying my face too.
"Yeah, I'll be out in a second." I said as we exited the bathroom and I entered my room again. I usually didn't eat breakfast, I found it made me feel sick. I dropped my shin gards and soccer boots into my bag as the dirty studs scraped against my work books leaving marks I didn't care about.
"Can I drive?" Seth asked excitedly as he entered my room, back-pack over one shoulder. I nodded and tossed him the keys. I was on my full License and had a Ute, but Seth being on his Learners, liked getting in practice, so sometimes I let him drive to school.
"Yeah sure. Wipe the dew from the side mirrors!" I called after him as he ran down the hall like a little kid. I threw some of the clothes on my floor around as I looked for my Jersey. It was the first day of school, and so the first day of practice. I sniffed my balled up Jersey as I pulled it out from under my bed. It didn't smell that bad. I sprayed it with deodorant for extra measure and shoved it in my bag. I went to chuck my deodorant on the bed but decided to spray my pits first.
I zipped my bag up nearly all the way by lifting and jiggling it by the zippers, before grabbing my soccer ball and running out of my room, and down the hall, into the kitchen and living area. Our house was one story, not counting the open and visible, triangle, half, attic space. It was like a stretched out log cabin with wooden floors, a fireplace, and high ceilings.
"Bye mum! Bye dad! Cya Leah!" I yelled out as I waved at them all and headed for the door.
"Ah, ah, ah!" Mum yelled out after me and I stopped with a groan at the doorway. "Like I told your brother, I want a hug goodbye." I sighed and turned to give mum a quick hug, while at it I paced past her and hug dad as he sat reading the paper at the table.
"Bye sweetie." He said as he kissed the top of my head. I smiled to myself before remembering Seth was waiting for me and we'd be late if I didn't leave now. I quickly spun around and ran back to the door.
"Wait!" Mum called and I turned in exasperation only to see her holding my Jersey. My eyes widened as I glanced at my bag which had slid back open.
"And remember dads out hunting this arvo and I'm going to Billy's." Mum said as she unravelled my Jersey and cringed at it.
"Yeah alright, thanks." I said quickly as I took it from her and dashed out the door before she could stop me again.
"When did you last wash that thing Mari?!" Mum yelled after me from the doorway, as I renched open the passenger door of my faded red Yoot, throwing my bag in before climbing up and slamming the door behind me.
"Last time!" I yelled back out the window, not really listening as Seth made a three point turn before heading down the long dirt drive. I pulled on my seatbelt and shoved my Jersey back in my bag, before zipping it up properly. My phone buzzed in my jacket pocket and I pulled it out to see my bestfriend had texted me.
Morng ready 4 ewwy school~ Bestboo
I huffed a laugh at Aleah's antics. We'd been bestfirends since kindergarten, but her mum had gotten a great job offer in California so they'd moved down there just over a year ago. We texted everyday without fail.
You bet 😩 siked for practice tho~Kamypoo
My tm here sucksss 😤 u should move 2 cali 2 play wth me~ Bestboo
Just for the soccer team lol~ Kamypoo
I chuckled at my bestie as I shoved my phone back in my pocket, and looked up just as Seth pulled into the parking lot. It was a little more packed than usual, everyone actually showing up for the first day, plus us arriving a little later didn't help.
"Did you want me to park?" I asked Seth as I glanced around the bustling carpark. It wasn't big enough for the amount of students who drove. It's a small school yet the carpark is still to small.
"Ahh?" He drew out the noise as he strained to look around the carpark as well. He bit his lip and seemed to become a little stressed, and tense as a horn beeped behind us. I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"How 'bout you park on the road today? It doesn't look like it'll rain." I said as I squeezed his shoulder in comfort. He nodded his head quickly before doing a lap of the carpark to exit and park on the curb with a couple other cars.
"Nice parallel." I commended as he stopped the engine and handed me my keys, Alien key chain first. It was Paul for the British movie Paul, but people always assumed it was Roger from American Dad. I grabbed my bag as I jumped out of the car. I waited for Seth to exit before sticking my key in the lock to secure it.
We crossed across the grass and the carpark before making our way into the crowded halls of the La Push High schools main building.
"I'm gonna go find the guys, see you at lunch?" Seth asked me as he pulled the second strap of his bag over his shoulder. My brows furrowed. As of the last few months Jacob Black, Embry Call, and Quil Atera had distanced themselves from Seth and I. We'd all grown up together and were friends, but two months ago they ceased all communication with anyone outside their little Sam Uley cult, (that was one of the things Leah and I had poked fun at Sam for, being a cult weirdo). It had started with Embry and ended with Quil, all three having previously expressed this dislike for Sam and his friends, Jared and Paul.
"Good luck." I called to Seth as I as I wondered off in the search of the soccer girls. The boys were bound to ignore and avoid poor Seth all day, like usual.

My first day back had been pretty average but I'd spent the whole day just waiting for Practice after school. When the bell finally rang I stretched in my seat in glee before packing up my things and heading for the change rooms.
We didn't always get a chance to play as it often rained in La Push and it's neighbour town Forks. So the fact that we were actually able to go out and practice made a bounce in my step as I exited the change rooms in my gear.
"How longs practice again?" Seth complained as I walked towards the field, my ball under my arm and all of my hair now up in a bun.
"An hour and a half. Text Leah, see if she can pick you up." I suggested as I watched the other girls and guys all make their way onto the field. Due to a lack of numbers, we were a combined team. I waited with Seth as he texted our older sister. A smile spilt across his face.
"She said she's on her way." He said happily as he shut his phone off and pocketed it. I chuckled at him and gave him a hug.
"Alright, see you at home." I said as we parted ways, Seth heading for the carpark and me heading for the Field.
"Let's start with a basic warm up and then we'll split in two and play a game." Our Captain was a girl in my year Tatum, but everyone called her Tate. She was an excellent captain. She was tom-boyish with a tall, and lean athletes body. We were friends, but only in the manner that you would be friends with someone in your English class, only while in class. I didn't really have friends, not since Aleah left and Jake, Embry and Quil had X-communicated Seth and I, but I didn't mind much, I had my family.
After practice we all made our way back to the locker rooms to change and clean up.
I pulled my shirt off and sat on the bench in my sports bra as I wiped the sweat from my face with my Jersey. That's probably why it smelt, I mopped my sweat with it. I pulled out my phone as I pulled out my shirt. I put my short on, opting for a shower at home, before checking my phone.
My body froze and my skipped a beat. I had 24 missed calls and a bunch of messages all from Mum, Leah and Seth. Panic rose in my chest and a feeling of dred washed over me in waves, what was going on. I quickly hit the call button on mums contact. It rung only once before she answered.
"Mum?" I questioned cautiously into the phone. I could here noise in the background like she was crying. I began to freak out further as my grip on my phone tightened.
"Honey," There was a break in her voice as she sniffed and then must've covered the phone as her crying became briefly muffled.
"Mum? Mum? What's wrong?" I asked, desperate for her to tell me everything was okay, everyone was okay, it was just a little false alarm.
"Honey," She paused again, "There, there was a-an, incident, while your father was hunting. He-he." She had to cover the phone again as she continued to cry. Tears spilt out of my eyes and leaked down my cheeks as my body shook in fear and panic.
"Mum what happened? Is dad okay?" I tried to prompt her but she continued to cry. I was beyond freaking out now. I'd packed my bag and was sprinting across the field and through the carpark with my phone still pressed painfully to my ear. I reached my car and pulled out my keys.
"Honey, he's gone. He-he died."
I froze. My body went cold and I suddenly couldn't hear mum anymore as my ears rang and my eyes bleared with my crying. I crumpled to the ground, dropping everything as I thumped my head agaisnt my truck as guttural sobs ripped from my throat and tears rushed down my cheeks.
I briefly remember someone coming to my side, a teacher I think, kneeling beside me and asking if I was okay, but that's all I remember from that day. I had no idea how much it would hurt to lose someone I loved so dearly, and how his death would be the trigger in a chain reaction that would change my life forever.
