xviii. a mother's cut

"Get away from my stäi!"

The rush of color filled his eyes. He was no longer here, he was somewhere else. Somewhere far in his mother's mind-he hadn't known how he'd gotten there but he was. He could feel every emotion, every fear, every pain, every desire, every disappointment. He could feel everything. He couldn't see.

But soon he would see.

She screamed, she screamed loud. Loud enough that his eardrums would collapse. But soon her voice started to warp, becoming one with his own thoughts.

"J'sub il?"

"Damien!"

"I'll kill all of you, t'sus!"

"Don't let them take my baby."

"Yerau muiny outi?"

"I'm sorry I have to give you up my baby."

Then once she screamed again, everything become clear.

He was born, he remembered it. On 1969, October 23rd. He was birthed in the Laboratory. Cries of the baby version of him were heard but his mother only gripped her child tightly as she cooed at him. Another man was right next to her, smiling brightly at his child.

His child.....his child?

The man's face was blurred. Only person in the room that shined was his mother. (She was gorgeous.) but then the face of his father was shown.

And it's sight....made Vee shocked.

"My stäi," she cooed at her child. "Siannanes, my stäi."

She wasn't paying attention to what any of the other doctors had been saying-she couldn't care less. She never cared. Especially not after they'd practically forgotten about the whole you'll be home soon. But for now; she was happy. She had her child. Her baby. Her stai.

And she wouldn't let anyone take him away.

But she agreed to have him taken.

She watched as they took her baby, she blew a kiss to him and only could cry.

A white noise was heard-then suddenly, he wasn't just born away.

He found himself falling into something deep. Something that was deep in his mind and forgotten, had it been for the good? He hadn't known but now he was going too. A pain was felt. Somewhere along his thighs, and between his elbow. Then suddenly he felt warm. Warmer. Hot.

Then he was back. Back in....

Back in Hawkins Lab.

The woman was crying with a young boy, a caramel colored boy who had a blood all over him. His eyes bright green and slight whimpers escaping from his mouth. Siannanes looked up his mother, she was covered in blood and her eyes were a scary dark green. He didn't know what was going on-he knew she killed.

But she killed those who deserved it.

And now, they were running but running from whom?

"Come baby, come on," she cooed to her child-who had to be about seven years old. "Hij' öfa. I've got you, my stäi."

The woman runs, with incredible speed, down the white halls. Not seeing an exit anywhere, or at least, she couldn't think of where it was. Sia could hear every thought of her and dread was everywhere in her mind. It sent chills through him.

While she carried her child, she turned a corner hoping to find an exit.

Only to discover a man in all white with a gun. He smirked at the sight of them, but something was sinister about it. If the woman hadn't known better then it looked like his face was going to split in half in he smiled harder.

Just then she yelped and turned to run.

A gunshot blasted through her gut. A orange, but amber, liquid spraying from her open wound.

As soon as her body hit the ground she couldn't even react to the next gun shot. It pierced her lower back and she screeched as the hot metal went through her violently.

Sia who was now on the ground too, was unconscious from the fall. He only blinked awake at the sound of another gunshot that was followed by another terrified wail of a woman. He stirred, and once his eyes fluttered open he realized he wished he would've have seen what he saw.

The blonde haired man was above his mother with a sick glare that would haunt him forever without even knowing it.

He was white, pale, with blue eyes that held excitement as he tortured the poor woman. It seemed he was taking pleasure in shooting the woman over and over and over and over-until her stomach was filled with holes. Her back was hallowed out, blood was everywhere like Sia had never seen before. Her face was bloody, some of it was hers some of it wasn't. Another bullet made her cry out again.

"S-S-Sia! Go," she cried out in pain. "Run!"

Another gunshot.

Sia looked at the scene horrified, his tiny hands on his cheeks in horror. He felt all his mother's pain, all her suffering and he felt his gut sink further down into hell.

The man shot his mother again which made Sia glare up at him.

"Stop!" He screamed, a rush of flames blew the man back into a wall down the hallway. The gun flew with him and the boy was quick to thrust a hand and suddenly the gun was nothing more than melted metal.

Sia rushed to his mother, "Mom. Mommy, please."

He turned her over and saw the brutal sight of her wounded stomach. There hasn't been much of it that hasn't been damaged, each hole was covered in blood. Some of it flowed so quickly out of her that she couldn't even heal her own wounds. Was she dying? She thought to herself but her son heard it.

"Mom, no. I'kiu ouv!" He cries in their language. He was in pain. "E cing' me! Me haip!" You can't. Please don't die! I help.

"No, Sia. Mommy's fine," she comforted her son with a pained smile. A soft lie. "Mommy will be okay, yeah? Find dad. Run and find him."

His mother knew she wasn't going to make it, it was all a lie. But a lie she made to convince her son to keep fighting. His eyes turned white for a moment and it seemed he believed her. Good. That's all that mattered. She needed to get her son away from this place. Away from this place forever.

If she could, she'd get him away from this planet. But her ship crashed here.

She wished she did a lot of things differently, she thought about everything she did in these small moments of her life. The last ones she would have. She remembers when she didn't want her son, when she was terrified of the humans, and when she felt like on top of the world after some of these pills they'd given her.

She remembered the bad. She reminds herself when they craved the 00 into her wrist with a blade, she recalled when they craved that awful tattoo into her son or when those men tried to prey on him. (She also remembered when she ripped their throats out for even attempting to do that underneath her presence.) she remembers all of it.

But she remembers the good. The little good that was.

And she wouldn't replace her son for anything else in the universe.

She loves how he looks almost exactly like her. She loves the way he was born differently. She loves the way he smiles. She loves the way he speaks their language so fluently so, if she dies, their species wouldn't die out ignorant like she was.

She loves him. She loves just about everything about her son.

Sia nodded as her powers took effect, he looked down at all the blood she was losing. She would be okay, she would. She will.

"Just...." His mom found herself start to fade. "...know that I love you, my stäi."

"Tno r'yy beyei rlrp." And I'll never stop.

And before she knew it. That was her final breath.

But Sia was under the impression that she was sleeping. Due to her powers, he believed his mother was still alive.

"Mommy?" He cries, his cheeks full of tears.

"Oh, look at this. Isn't this just a sight to see,"

Sia immediately stood up at the voice and faced the person. It was him. The man who hurt Mom.

"You hurt Mom." Sia's broken English amused the man, but his voice only held malice.

"I did. And I loved every second of her disgusting screams." He laughed. "You see, your species is the problem in this facility. In this world."

Sia's brow furrowed as the man crept closer. He backed away, as the anger he felt turned into horror now. He was scared.

"You-" he pointed to the boy. "-are what's wrong with the world."

"Your kind is weak. They've always been weak. And they will stay weak, under my boot. They will never amount to what I am. How powerful I am." He scowled. "And they're poisonous. Infecting the world with their seeds, as if we don't have enough already."

Sia shook his head silently, "I'm-I'm not weak."

"Oh, but you are."

"You are emotional." He stepped closer.

"You are abnormal."

"You can't control yourself."

"Your skin color is disgusting."

"And you can't even fight back against bullets," he proved to his mother. "So, who's really weak here? Hm?"

Before Sia could react the man nodded his head and the boy was thrown into a far wall. Sia screamed, his voice breaking, as he was thrown into another wall with the flick of the man's head. A cackle was heard throughout the corridor, the man had be laughing. He laughs at their pain & suffering. He laughed at the fact that he was overpowering a innocent child.

He laughed at it all.

Another harsh throw into the wall made the boy cry out, spitting out blood. Whimpering the child tried to crawl away but the man but his foot on the child's neck.

"I told you," he whispered harshly. "You are weak."

He pressed his foot deeper into the boy's neck, the air that was flowing began to stop. Now a sudden unwanted pressure was on Sia's neck and he scrambled everywhere to try and stop it.

Eventually, he began to get tired. Stop, please! The man resisted his unwanted mind control but the boy kept trying. The man grunted in pain at the sudden force into his emotional state but kept on. Stop! He wanted him to stop, please stop!

Sia then got a glance at his unconscious mother. He remembers what she told him: Use your emotions, Siannanes. All that built up pain, happiness, sadness, and anger will help you.

It's our power. Our emotions.

Don't let anyone use it against you.

Just then Sia felt all that emotion go, every single thing he felt at the moment-he let loose.

The lights exploded above him and the man was caught into hot pink flames. He screamed, but Sia didn't care. Pain was no more, the boy now floated up by an unknown force. As the man burned, his skin started to become wore and tear off. But that didn't stop the boy.

Sia's eyes was a bright green & his skin was orange.a wave of an unknown wind was seen behind him and blew the man into a nearby wall.

Sia floated over to the man with a terrifying glare, a stare that made him cower.

The man burned even more as Sia glared deeper into his soul. At this point all of the halls had suddenly become on fire as well, and a bright glow was visible in Sia's hand. A energy full of hot solar flames lies in the boy's seven year old hand. A power that this mere human would never be capable of.

"Who's weak now?" Sia titled his head at the man.

The man only screamed in pain as the flames tore against his skin but hadn't entirely burned him. As Sia had another way to make him suffer.

As the boy began to thrust an hand out to release his cosmic rays of energy, a sudden pinch was felt in his neck. He turned to whoever was the cause immediately screaming and making whoever it was fly back many feet away from him.

Suddenly his eyes began to get heavy and the fiery restraint's finally let go of the man who'd hurt his mother. He felt his whole body begin to shut down slowly.

The floating ceased and Sia fell to the floor.

Doctor Brenner stood over him with a needle in hand.

Sia's ears began to ring and whatever Brenner told him was fading slowly. All the boy knew was that he failed his mother. He didn't get out.

Now, Sia became entangled in the darkness for a while.
