Houssam dashed into the hospital, his heart pounding in his body, and his heart in utter turmoil.

"Hi, I'm looking for Hana Ismail's room." He exclaimed as he rushed towards the nurse's desk, and she eyed him wearily.

"Miss Ismail is getting an MRI scan right now, but she is in room five sixty three." The words barely left her mouth before Houssam started running down the hallway, and a few seconds later he appeared in the room, Hisham and Ilham standing up upon his arrival..

"Oh Houssam!" Ilham exclaimed, her eyes tearing up, and he stepped into the room, putting a hand on Hisham's arm.

"What happened? Is she okay?" he asked breathlessly, and Hisham sighed.

"She will live. She has three broken ribs, a broken leg, and they think she has a concussion. They are doing the MRI now."

"Ya Allah." Houssam exclaimed before sitting down in one of the chairs. "How was she? Was she alert?"

"She wasn't awake when we got here, but they said they expected her to wake up before she gets back."

"How did this happen?" Houssam exclaimed.

The glance that Ilham and Hisham shared didn't escape Houssam's notice, and he felt his stomach sink.

"What is it? What?"

Hisham cleared his throat nervously.

"Don't freak out Houssam. It's not your fault okay?"

"Oh my God. The paparazzi were after her weren't they?" he asked, and when the two of them remained silent, he stood up angrily from his chair. "I can't believe this! This is just...oh my god. That's it I have to leave. I cause harm to everyone I care about!"

Hisham stepped forward until he was practically nose to nose with Houssam.

"You are not going to run out on my sister."

"Hisham," Ilham said quietly, and Hisham shook his head.

"No Ilham. He has to hear this." He turned back towards Houssam. "I have watched her in agony over you for a very long time, and it breaks my heart. She is my sister, and I don't want her to hurt anymore. Finally everybody's feelings come out in the open, and you are going to leave her?! No way. Over my dead body." He finished, and Ilham put a hand on his shoulder.

"Habibi calm down." She whispered, and he turned around to put an arm around her.

Houssam sighed, and ran a hand through his hair.

"I won't leave her Hisham. I care too much about her."

Hisham eyed him wearily.

"You do?"

Houssam nodded.

"I do. A lot. And if she allows me to, I will spend forever trying to prove it to her."

"Aw," Ilham exclaimed, waving her hands in front of her face, "that is so sweet!"

Hisham rolled his eyes but smiled at Houssam.

"Pick up the pace then will you? I can't stand this will they or won't they game anymore!"

Houssam laughed and perched on the edge of his seat.

"Is it okay if I see her? You know if she wants me to?"

Hisham regarded him for a few seconds before nodding.

"Okay."

"Thank you." Houssam said with a grateful nod, and it was quiet in the room, everyone dealing with their own somber thoughts. Suddenly Houssam jumped up from his seat, and began to make his way towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Ilham asked.

"I'll be right back. I have something to do."

***

It's so tight.

Too tight.

She couldn't move.

Not even her hands

What was this strapping her face down?

Where was she?

So tight...

She couldn't breathe...

"Dear, try not to move, otherwise we won't be able to get a clear picture."

Hana blinked in confusion as the voice filled her ears, and she looked around her in shock, realizing she was in some sort of machine.

"Where am I?" she said in a panicked voice, and she heard scrambling from the same intercom before she felt herself being slowly moving. Once her body had been freed, she tried to sit up, struggling against her restraints in full terror, before letting out a piercing shriek as a pain in her body shot through her.

"Honey, honey calm down! You're going to hurt yourself!"

Hana jerked her head up as a nurse came into view.

"What happened?" she asked hoarsely, her eyes filling with tears, and the nurse, whose badge read 'Barbara', put a hand on her arm comfortingly.

"You were in an accident honey. A pretty bad one, and we need to take a picture of your brain to make sure you aren't bleeding."

Hana reached up to brush a few tears away from her face, but winced again, her hands flying to her sides. "Why does it hurt so much?" she whimpered, and Barbara sighed.

"You have a broken leg, and three broken ribs dear. Unfortunately there isn't really a way for us to help mend your ribs. We've taped up your sides but that is as much as we can do, you just have to wait for them to heal themselves. Just try not to move too much."

"Okay." Hana whispered, and she watched as the nurse pulled a shot out of her pocket, and hooked it up to her IV.

"Now dear are you going to be okay to finish the MRI? We really need to make sure you are okay."

Hana nodded slowly.

"Okay. What is that?" she asked motioning towards the shot, and the nurse smiled.

"It's just some pain medicine to help you out. It should kick in in a few seconds."

As she felt the medicine swirl through her veins, she lay back down, allowing the nurse to put the face mask back across her head. Once she was in the machine again, she closed her eyes and began to say Surah Al Fatiha, trying so hard not to freak out from the tight space.

***

"Oh Hana!" Ilham exclaimed.

Hana give a weak smile as they wheeled her bed back into her room. She was in agony again, her ribs especially were killing her, and that's why at first she didn't notice the room. But after the nurse hooked up her IV, and put a blanket around her, she glanced around the room in shock. Every single available surface, was covered in a white daisy. From the bedside table to the sink, they all held vases of various sizes. There had to be at least a hundred flowers.

"W...what?" she stammered out, and Ilham and her brother smiled.

"Houssam. He's been so worried about you."

"H...he's here?" she asked quietly, and Hisham shook his head.

"He went to get some coffee. He said he would be right back."

"Okay." She said quietly, glancing around the room.

"How are you feeling?" Ilham asked, standing up to kiss her head, and Hana smiled at her.

"I'm hurting. A lot. Everywhere is hurting."

Ilham's eyes crinkled in concern.

"They didn't give you any pain medicine?"

Hana nodded.

"They did when I was in MRI, but she said she can give me another one in half an hour."

Ilham nodded, and sat down in the chair next to her, watching as Hisham stood from his bed, pacing back and forth.

"Mama and Baba were here earlier, but Mama was crying too hard so Baba took her home. InshaAllah they will come back tomorrow. That was from them." He said pointing at a giant teddy bear, and Hana smiled weakly as she turned to look at it, a look of pain on her face as she moved.

"Tell me what you need?" Ilham asked, and Hana shook her head.

"I don't think anything will help right now. But thank you."

"Hana, Houssam wants to come and see you if you are okay with it."

Hana was silent for a second.

"I don't know."

Hisham's eyes widened slightly.

"You don't blame him for what happened do you?" Ilham asked worriedly, and Hana shook her head.

"No. Of course not. I just..." she hesitated for a second before sighing, "There was a moment before I got into the accident, when they were chasing me, that I realized if I married him, it would be life. I would forever be running away. I don't think I can handle it..."

"Hana. Hana habibti you are just fragile right now. Don't say something you are going to regret. You've been liking him for years. And now you have him. Don't throw it away because you are scared." Hisham said urgently, and she shook her head.

"Hisham, I don't have him. He ran out on me yesterday."

"I would never run out on you. I went to break it off with Kalthoum."

A silence fell over the room as Houssam's voice came from the door, and soon Hana turned in the direction of the doorway, Houssam standing there, a cautious look in his eyes.

"Hey." He whispered, and suddenly Hana found herself bursting into tears.

Hisham was by her bed in a flash. "Hana! What's wrong habibti!?" he exclaimed worriedly. "Do you need me to call the nurse again?"

She shook her head, and dabbed at her eyes with her blanket.

"No. I just..." she trailed off, her eyes locking on Houssam's face, and Hisham looked between them before understanding dawned on his face, and he took Ilham's hand in his.

"Okay we will leave you alone for a minute, but we will be right outside. With the door open! Don't try anything!" he said sternly, though his lips were twitching as if he was suppressing a smile.

Houssam rolled his eyes, and waited until they had left the room, before coming towards Hana's bed. He towered over her impressively, for even when she was standing he was already tall, and he looked at her intently.

"Why the tears? Are you that angry to see me?"

She shook her head.

"Not at all. I just didn't think you would come back."

His face softened.

"Why wouldn't I?" he asked gently, and she shrugged.

"When you ran out on me, I didn't know what to think."

"Nothing could ever make me run out on you. Like I said, I went to break it off with Kalthoum."

"You did?"

He nodded.

"I did."

"Why?"

"Do you really need me to say it?" he asked with a smile, and she nodded.

"Yes."

"I want to be with you." He said quietly, and she gave a laugh before starting to cry again.

"Hey, why so emotional?" he asked in concern, and she shrugged.

"I don't know. Maybe it's the medicine they are giving me."

He grinned.

"Maybe. Or maybe you're just happy?" he suggested and she laughed.

They were quiet for a few moments, before he sighed.

"I'm so sorry Hana. I'm so sorry. You don't know how sorry I am."

"It's okay." She replied quietly, and he felt his stomach sink. Before she had reassured him that the apologies weren't needed as it wasn't his fault. But this was different. "Are you angry with me?" he whispered, and she hesitated before shaking her head.

"No. I'm not angry at you."

"But?" he prompted, and she gave a slight smile.

"But nothing. It's not your fault."

He stared at her softly for a few moments, before the sounds of the Pokémon theme song filled the air around them, and after another few beats he pulled his phone out.

"Hello?"

"Houssam?"

"Freddy? Hey man what's up?" Houssam asked in surprise, and Freddy gave a sigh.

"Look man I'm on my way back to LA, and I suggest you do the same."

"Why? What's wrong?"

There was a beat of silence before Freddy sighed again.

"Coach died."

***

"What!?" Houssam exclaimed into his phone, and Hana looked up with a start at the volume of his voice. "What do you mean!? What happened!?"

"He had a heart attack and was by himself at home. By the time his wife found him, he was dead."

"Oh my God." Houssam said, sinking back into his seat, and putting a hand over his face.

"Yeah I know. I can't believe it. Brown just text me, Coach's wife called him from the hospital as he was the first one in Coach's contacts."

"I can't believe this. He's just gone?" Houssam whispered, and Hana's eyes widened.

"I can't believe it either. Look I'll be in LA in a few hours, do you think you can make it out?"

"Yeah, I'll leave right away."

"Alright bro. I'll see you soon."

Once he had hung up, Houssam turned towards Hana.

"Um, I have to go back to LA."

"Is everything okay?" she asked and he shook his head.

"Um no. My Coach died."

She gave a gasp of surprise, her hand flying to her mouth, and he nodded grimly.

"Yeah. He had a heart attack. I have to go and try to book a flight." He stood up halfway from his seat before pausing.

"No, I can't go. I can't leave you now."

She shook her head.

"Go Houssam."

"I don't want to leave you."

"Don't worry about me, I just need to rest."

He smiled slightly.

"Of course I have to worry about you"

She smiled.

"Go Houssam." she said again, and he smiled back.

"Okay. Get well soon! I'll be back to you as soon as I can."

"I'll try." She whispered, and he lingered in the doorway as if he wanted to tell her something, before smiling at her, and hurrying out of the room, to his great surprise, the words 'I love you' on his lips.
