"I miss you," you said, fanning your eyes as they began to fill with tears.

"I miss you too, but I'll be home in a few months," Tyler's voice sounded different over the phone.

"Alright, well you need to board soon. Enjoy your day off, make sure to get plenty of vocal rest," you laughed.

"I will. Take care of yourself for me, ok?"

"Always."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

You ended the phone call and set it on the kitchen counter. Your eyes were still brimmed with tears, but you wiped them away. Talking to Tyler always seemed to make you emotional, like a reminder that he wasn't just in another room of the house. Being away from him was difficult for you.

You decided to make some tea and watch a movie to distract yourself. It was too early to make yourself dinner and you didn't feel like going out in the cold fall weather. This would have to do for tonight.

Someone knocked on the door just as you were about to start your movie. A bit annoyed, you set your tea down and walked over to the door. It took you a second to unlock it, but you eventually figured it out and swung the door open.

"Surprise," Tyler smiled, holding his arms out.

You practically threw yourself at him, nearly knocking him over in the process.

"How did you get here?" you asked. "I thought you were on the other side of the country?"

"We left early this morning to get here. I was actually in the car on the way over here when I was on the phone with you."

"No way," you said, finally letting go of him. "I'm sorry, I should let you in the house."

"It feels weird to be back," he said, walking inside and dropping his backpack on the ground.

"I'm glad you're here though," you smiled, wrapping an arm around him.

"Me too."

He pulled you towards him and leaned in for a kiss. You pulled him closer to you and kissed him deeply. This was the first time that you had kissed in over a month, after all.

Tyler pulled away from the kiss first, but pressed his forehead to yours, "I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you more."

Tyler smiled and gave you another quick kiss.

"My tea!" you said suddenly, remembering the mug that you had left on the coffee table. "Sorry, Ty. I don't want it to get cold."

"No worries," he laughed.

You got your tea and took a seat on the couch, followed closely by Tyler. Once he was settled, you threw your legs across his lap.

"How long until you have to leave?" you asked.

"I have to be at the airport at seven tomorrow morning."

"That's so early," you sighed.

"Yeah, but it means we have sixteen hours together," he smiled.

"True, and we're going to make the most of every hour."

"Agreed."

"So what now?" you asked.

Tyler smiled, "I think I have some ideas."
