"Look! A cow!" you smiled, pressing your finger up against the window.

"Y/N, I love you, but if you point out one more cow I think I'm going to lose my mind," Josh huffed.

"But look! It's so beautiful! Aaaaaaand it's gone."

"I swear it's like having a five year old in the car."

"Hey, you're the one who insisted we drive halfway across the country to see your family instead of getting on a plane like normal people."

"Yeah, and if we were on a plane you would probably point out every cloud that we saw," he laughed.

"Hey!" you retaliated. Of course, this was followed with a quiet, "You're not wrong."

Josh reached over and grabbed your hand. Ever since you had started dating, he always made a point to be making some sort of physical contact with you while he drove. He said that it helped keep him calm.

"How much longer until we reach our next stop?" you asked, leaning back against your seat.

"Probably two hours or so."

You sighed and looked out the window. The sun was just beginning to set out over the vast fields, putting streaks of orange and purple through the sky.

"At least we have a nice view."

"I have a nice view no matter what time of day it is," Josh smirked.

"Not when you're sleeping. Your eyes are closed so you can't see me."

"That's it, I'm pulling this car over and you can walk the rest of the way," Josh joked.

"I'm sorry!" you laughed. "That's for the cloud comment."

Josh shook his head, but he was grinning. You grabbed your phone from between your legs and opened Snapchat.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"You look really good right now, I just wanted to take a picture."

"Ok," he smiled. He never failed to get a little shy when you took pictures of him.

"I like that one," you said, typing out a caption on the picture with your free hand.

"Did I look good?"

"Of course," you said, pulling his hand up and kissing his knuckles.

You kicked your feet up onto the dash and slid down in your chair. It had been a long day of driving and you were ready to get to the hotel and lay in a proper bed.

"Can I tell you something?" Josh asked.

"Hit me with it."

"The whole reason that I wanted to drive to see my family is that I wanted an excuse to spend time with you and not have to worry about anything else."

"Really?"

"Think about it. We get to spend all day in a car with nobody else just talking to one another and listening to music that we like."

"Yeah, it is pretty nice," you smiled.

"And there's nobody that I would rather be on this road trip with, even if you do point out every cow that we see."

"Josh, look!"

"I don't even have to look to know there's a cow out there," he laughed.

"I love you so much. And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm glad that you made us drive."
