"I don't know," you sighed, setting the cup down in front of you. "My head is just kind of full of all these thoughts swirling around and they won't calm down."

Your eyes remained focused on your blanket covered feet resting on the edge of the coffee table. The edges of your vision started to blur. Everything felt wrong. Out of place. You didn't belong here, but you couldn't tell him that.

"You can talk to me, you know that," he said, his voice was soft.

You pulled the blanket tighter around your torso, as if it was the last line of defense you had from being totally vulnerable.

"I know," you said, your voice shaking slightly. "And I want to, but I just don't know where to even start."

"Do you want me to take you on a drive to help clear your mind? We can go look out over the city and bring some blankets and I'll grab you something to drink before we leave."

You nodded slowly, "I'd like that."

"Ok, you stay here while I go gather up some things. Do you want your Vans?"

You nodded. He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on your temple before getting up from the couch. While he wandered around the house gathering supplies, you remained on the couch, your eyes fixated on your feet.

He returned a few minutes later, carrying a steaming thermos and your favorite pair of shoes. He set the drink on the table in front of you and haphazardly tossed your shoes between your legs. After shaking yourself out of your trance, you bent over and laced them up.

"Ready?" he smiled gently, pulling on his worn jacket.

You nodded and stood up, grabbing your thermos with one hand and holding the blanket tightly around yourself with the other. He wrapped an arm around you and walked with you as you shuffled towards the door.

The air outside was cold, but the blanket around your shoulders and the heat radiating off of his body kept you warm as you made your way across the driveway to the car. Like a true gentleman, he held the door open for you as you climbed into the passenger seat.

"Thank you, sir," you giggled, pulling the loose fabric of the blanket into the car behind you.

"Got it all?" he smiled widely at you. You nodded.

He shut the car door before jogging around to the other side and climbing into the driver's seat. A shiver ran down your spine from the cold of the car.

"I'll get the car warm as soon as possible," he said, starting the car and immediately blasting the heat.

You tentatively took a ship from your steaming thermos. It was the perfect temperature, something that you were sure your boyfriend had been careful to make just right. You wrapped your hands more tightly around it, hoping to steal some of its heat.

The two of you sat quietly while you drove to you destination. He knew better than to try and get you to talk right now, it wouldn't lead anywhere. Instead, you both listened to your favorite CD, a mixtape he had made you for your one-year anniversary. He sang along quietly, his voice low and husky.

You arrived at the park about twenty minutes later. Your boyfriend stepped out of the car and grabbed the extra blankets from the trunk as you slowly made your way out of the passenger seat. He joined you on the hood of the car and proceeded to wrap you both in heaps of blankets to fight against the cold night air. You took another long sip from your thermos as you looked out over the city.

"I don't deserve you," you said suddenly, breaking the silence.

He turned to face you, eyebrows immediately furrowing, "Why in the world would you think that?"

You shrugged, "You're just so wonderful and talented and successful and caring and I'm just me. I don't deserve somebody like you."

He took hold of your free hand, "I love you, Y/N. All of you. Even the things that you don't think deserve to be loved."

"I just don't understand how you could."

"It's easy. I don't even have to think about it, I just love you. Think about it, is there anything about me that you don't love?"

You thought it over for a moment, "You snore kinda loud sometimes."

He rolled his eyes and laughed, "But don't you even love that?"

You nodded slowly, a small smile forming on your face.

"See? There's not a single thing that I could hate about you."

"But I worry and overthink so much. Even I get tired of it."

"Everyone has days like that. It's like I've told you before, it's ok to not be ok. I'm going to be here for you every step of the way."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
