Drabble #13

Pairing: Josh Dun x Reader

Warnings: None

Word Count: 401

Prompt: "Your hands are cold."

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" you said, quickly throwing out rock with your hand.

Josh sighed as he realized that he had lost the competition. You immediately pulled your hand back under the warm blanket.

"I can't believe I lost," Josh said as he threw the blanket off of himself and walked out into the hallway.

He returned a few moments later, a large blanket thrown over his shoulder. As quickly as he could, he laid it out over the top of the already massive pile of blankets that you two had acquired on your bed.

"Thank you, love," you said, giving him a kiss on the cheek as he crawled back under the blankets with you.

"I can't believe the heater broke," he sighed, adjusting himself slightly.

The day before, the heater had died randomly in the middle of the day. It had been fine at first, but the heat in the house eventually evaporated and the cool January air had crept in. Josh had called the repairmen, but they were unavailable for the next few days. As a result, you and Josh had spent the entire day in bed, piled under as many blankets you could find and using each other for warmth.

"It'll be fixed tomorrow," you answered, a shiver running down your spine.

"Come here," he said, snaking an arm around your waist and pulling you into him.

His hand slipped under the hem of your sweatshirt and rested on your lower back. The sudden cold caused you to jump a bit.

"Are you ok?" he asked, eyebrows furrowing.

"Your hands are cold."

"Sorry," he said, moving his hand to the outside of your sweatshirt.

"It's ok."

He moved his head so that it was buried in the crook of your neck. You were happy to hold him for a little while, knowing that eventually you would get to be the little spoon and steal all of his body heat.

"You know, as much as I love having heat in the house, it's also kind of nice to have an excuse to stay in bed with you all day," Josh said.

"Tell me about it," you reached up and brushed a hand through his hair. "We're both so busy all the time that we don't really get to have days like this."

You could feel Josh smiling against your neck, "Maybe we should break the heater more often."
