⛄Day 03⛄
Jungkook groaned as he made his way through the snow, which was now practically slush, towards his car. No amount of snow could ever make his boss close the office. Not even two feet of the thick whiteness. Jungkook shivered as the flashbacks rolled in. It had been a cold day that day.
Jungkook sank into his seat and turned the car on. He pulled out of his driveway. The kids that had given him the Turtledoves the day before sat outside inside their fort and waved as Jungkook passed. How come the kids were out of school but he still had to go to work? His boss was a confusing guy. He gave them groundhog day off but no snow days?? Jungkook shook his head. His boss was a nice guy. He'd had dinner several times with him and his wife. They both were pretty great, fairly odd but great nonetheless.
Jungkook hoped Jeongsan would be okay by himself all day. He had finally gotten around to naming the small pigeon he had received. He had no idea why he had named the little ball of fluff Jeongsan, it had just seemed cute.
The city was busy as usual, cars flowing up and down both ramps. The highways were coated in large colored hunks of metal speeding on four wheels to their place of occupation. He was lucky he left home fairly early in the morning, otherwise, he would've been extremely late (like Taehyung, but you didn't hear that from him). If he were to be late, it wasn't like anyone would care. The office was pretty chill about that kind of thing.
Jungkook could see the glowing green four story office building from his spot in the traffic jam and huffed. So close, yet so far away. He tilted his head back and rested it against the headrest. The thought of Jeongsan and his two Turtledove friends, who Jeongsan had snuggled up to upon first meeting, brought the question of which office member could have done something like this? None of his co-workers were exactly known for their effort, outside of work, of course. He couldn't think of who, but he could think of who he wanted it to be. Min Yoongi. His crush. If he were to want anybody to flirt with him in this way, he wanted it to be Yoongi. It wouldn't be him though. Yoongi had never looked at him or acknowledged him in anyway. Pigs would fly the day Yoongi ever did something like this for Jungkook.
Jungkook pulled into his usual spot in the parking lot and stopped the car. He pulled his satchel out from the backseat and draped it over his shoulder before exiting the car. He patted his pockets making sure his keys and phone were in his possession. He pulled open the doors and entered the elevator where he pushed the fourth floor button. Jungkook worked in the management division of the company. Each division were divided amongst the floors. Human resources on the first, accounting on second, sales on third, and management on the fourth. The elevator doors opened and Jungkook stepped out and greeted Mina, the receptionist.
"Good morning, Jungkook."
"Morning, Mina." Jungkook leaned on the top of the desk. "How are you?"
"I'm doing pretty good." Mina dug around behind her desk. "You have a package, I believe."
"Oh?" Jungkook hummed as Mina brought a small brown box up on the desk.
"Yep, hand delivered, just for you."
"Thank you, Mina."
"No problem."
Jungkook took the package and headed to his desk and cut the box open. A handbag with three hens and a bunch of grass or some form of plant sat knitted intricately in it sat inside. Jungkook lifted it up and looked at it confusedly. Aren't handbags meant for girls? A small note sat in the bottom of the box.
-On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three french hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree-
I know, I know. Men don't use handbags. It was cute, you're cute, you get the jist. Hey, smile more. I mean it. I love how you're eyes glow when you do.
Jungkook put everything back in the box and set it under his desk with his satchel. He couldn't risk having his co-workers seeing him with a handbag, even if it was cute. Why did that song have to start out with so many birds? He knew this mystery guy was having a hard time finding things that have said animals on it. He was looking forward to tomorrow. How would this guy get him five gold rings?
