⛄Day 00⛄

Jungkook had been surprised to get a text from one of his co-workers that chilly final Saturday of November asking if he would like to join him and several other friends at the mall later in the day. Jungkook, of course, responded with a very excited yes. He wasn’t asked to go out very often, especially by co-workers. He tended to have very good in office relationships with them but they never talked outside of it.

He giddily grabbed his wallet and cellphone and headed to his car, which was parked out front of his small little house. The traffic on the highway to the mall was pretty thick, but he surprisingly got through it in fair time.

The car slid to a halt in an empty space near the back of the mall’s parking lot. He hardly ever parked near the front, even if a space was available. The walk to and from the mall’s towering glass doors was one filled with Jungkook’s thoughts. It was his time to sort through everything going on in his head. His best thinking occured when he had to walk long distances, surprisingly.

Jungkook checked his texts one last time, making sure he was headed in the right direction, before turning it off and letting it sink to the bottom of his skinny jeans pocket. Taehyung had said to meet him and the others in the food court and Jungkook only hoped this wasn’t some practical joke. Taehyung always resonated that practical joker feel. Jungkook ran a hand through his chocolate brown hair as he scanned the crowd for the ash haired younger.

“Jeon!” Taehyung’s deep voice shouted over the lively chatter of the food court while he waved his hands high above his head.

Jungkook blushed in embarrassment as he weaved his way through the tables until he reached the one Taehyung and four others surrounded.

“Jungkook! Glad you could make it.” Taehyung chirped as the older seated himself at the end of the table.

“I am too.” Jungkook said slightly quiet as he looked over the group that was looking at him curiously.

“Oh! This is Hoseok,” Taehyung pointed to a boy with red haired, “this is Seokjin,” A boy that appeared to be older with black hair waved, “Namjoon,” The silver haired boy knocked over his glass at the mention of his name earning some swears from a blond, “The guy that just swore is Jimin.”

“Sorry, I try not to swear but it’s hard when this big goof over here is always breaking things.” Jimin glared at Namjoon.

“Yeah, but you love this big goof.” Namjoon said as he mopped up his mess with several napkins.

“That I do.” Jimin grinned, “Also, don’t call yourself a big goof, only I’m allowed to do that.”

Namjoon pouted.

Hoseok nudged Jungkook’s shoulder and whispered, “They’re dating.”

“Whoa, they are? I couldn’t tell.” Jungkook whispered back.

“A sarcastic one, huh?” Hoseok mused, looking at Taehyung with narrowed eyes.

“What?” Taehyung responded to the stares.

“You brought a sarcastic one to our wholesome friend group.”

“First off, we are most definitely not wholesome. Second, when has there not been a sarcastic one in our group? We’re all sarcastic at times.” Seokjin spoke up.

“Seokjin, shhh! We can’t have our non-wholesome-ness revealed to the public.” Hoseok said in a low, quiet voice.

“I honestly think that that is what makes this whole group really fun. I generally didn’t hang out in groups until Minnie introduced me to you all.” Namjoon interjected.

Hoseok turned to Jungkook, “What’s your opinion on this non-wholesome-ness issue?”

“Personally,” Jungkook said, “I think being a bit unwholesome is ideal.”

“See? We’ve got the newbie’s approval. Can we move on?” Jimin said, leaning on his elbow.

“Don’t mind him, Jimin gets bored easily.” Taehyung said in Jungkook’s direction.

“I just enjoy doing the fun things in life.” Jimin shrugged.

“Yes, because waking me up to drive you to wait in front of the grocery store for over eight hours to purchase Jams is one of the fun things in life.” Namjoon groaned.

“Hey, that was worth it and led to one of the fun things in life.”

“If you say so.”

“I have to agree, seeing as he never had any in the first place, he needed some.” Taehyung added.

“See? Taehyung agrees with me.”

“I would rather be writing new lyrics for a song than be sitting in front of a computer doing something unproductive like that.”

Jimin dramatically gasped.

“Before this goes any further, what’s something you like to do, Jungkook? I enjoy cooking.” Seokjin interrupted.

“I like to game, I guess.” Jungkook tilted his head.

“C’mon, I’m sure you more than ‘I guess’ something, right?”

“Well, I, uh, I like to dance.” Jungkook said, fiddling with his hands.

Hoseok’s mouth formed an ‘O’, “So do I! So do I!”

“Really?”

“Yeah! We should practice together sometime.”

“I think that’d be cool.”

“What happened to, ‘You brought a sarcastic one in to our wholesome friend group’, huh?” Taehyung said, saltily.

“That’s a thing of the past, my dear child.” Hoseok said nonchalantly.

Taehyung perked up as he saw a familiar face in the influx of people. “Oh, hey, Jungkook! There’s Yoongi!”

Jungkook stiffened and paled a bit before turning around and spotting the blue haired boy’s figure. He turned back quickly with warm red blush spreading on his face as Yoongi turned to where the stares were coming from. Taehyung waved and Yoongi turned sharply around, ignoring the energetic male.

Taehyung dejectedly lowered his hand before commenting, “He’s such an odd guy.”

Jungkook, forgetting the still lingering blush, said, “H-He’s not that bad.”

Jimin’s eyes lit up as he slowly started to laugh, “Jungkookie’s got a crush!”

Jungkook’s blush relit in a fierce red, “N-No! No I don’t!”

“Oh my gosh.” Hoseok grinned, “You do! My little Jungkookie does have a crush!”

“Jungkookie has a crush, Jungkookie has a crush!” Taehyung sing-songed.

“Will you all stop calling me Jungkookie? And I don’t have a crush!”

“Just admit it, kid. You do. It’s really obvious.” Namjoon smiled.

Jungkook sighed and looked at his lap. They weren't going to give up, were they? “O-Okay, fine, so what if I do?” Jungkook said, quietly.

Hoseok let out a squeal, attracting a ton of stares and pushing Jungkook’s embarrassment farther off the edge.

“The shipping squad is being reinstated. Elder’s powers deem it legal.” Seokjin said, excitedly.

“Shipping squad?”

“It first formed to get me and Joon together and now they’re bringing it back to get you and Yoongi together.” Jimin said, his previous laughs still slightly present in his voice.

“No, no, no. I don’t need help with that, guys. Thanks, but no thanks.”

“Nope! It’s a legal reinstating. You can’t get rid of us.” Taehyung smiled.

Jungkook groaned and rested his head against the table.

“Hey, if it works out right, you’ll get yourself a blue haired boyfriend as a result.” Hoseok added.

“Shut up.”

“At least he didn’t hear us.” Namjoon said.

“That’s true, it could’ve been worse.” Seokjin added.

Jungkook nodded. Thank God Yoongi hadn’t heard them. Thank. God.
