"Kai?" I ask, walking into my apartment.

"I'm home, doofus!" I yell, dropping my keys in the bowl on the counter.

No response, weird.

Kai is always here!

I shrug it off and walk into the kitchen to make some coffee for myself.

While it's brewing, I check to see if Kai left any notes or texted me.

Of course, none of the above. Which is extremely strange for my boyfriend.

When my coffee finished brewing, I  poured myself a mug.

Tap, tap.

What the fuck?

I must be hearing things.

I mind my own, and continue about my day, pulling out my phone and texting Kai.

I send the text, and two seconds later hear a ding.

It wasn't my phone...

I start slightly panicking but immediately calm myself down. I call Kai, and wait a couple seconds before I hear Kai's phone ringing from the other room.

Maybe he's napping.

I walk into our bedroom and see Kai's phone laying on the bedside table, with no Kai.

I internally start to freak and quickly walk back into the kitchen.

"KAI?!" I scream.

No fucking answer.

BANG.

Our bedroom door slams shut, causing me to scream as loud as possible, clutching my chest.

What the hell?

Go see what it is!

HELL NO. This is how most horror movies start!

Great, now I'm arguing with myself.

"KAI. THIS ISN'T FUNNY. WHERE ARE YOU?" I yell.

Still nothing...

I loud stomping feet run across the living room.

I scream and grab a knife from the knife holder, and hold it up in defense.

"W-Who's there?" I say.

I'm completely terrified right now, shaking in my skin.

"Me."

My entire body froze instantly.

"Who's me?" I ask, trembling.

I don't dare turn around to see who it is.

"Your worst nightmare." A whisper says in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

I quickly turn around and face my knife at the person, who's face was hidden.

The had a gun in their hand, and their target was me.

"P-Please don't kill me!" I shriek.

"Too late." The person says, fingers pushing back the trigger slowly.

My heart was beating out of my chest as my entire life flashes before my eyes.

The trigger is pulled.

I close my eyes.

Nothing, not a sound.

I open my eyes and see a giggly Kai with the gun in his hand, blowing bubbles out of the top.

"K-Kai." I stutter.

"You sooo fell for that, Y/N!" Kai says, cracking up.

"That's not funny! I fucking thought I was going to die, you dickhead!" I scream, running into the bedroom and slamming the door, locking it.

Kai runs after me and tries to open the door with no success.

"GO AWAY." I yell.

"Babe, it was just a joke. I'm sorry!" Kai says.

"Leave me alone."

The lock suddenly picks itself and the door swings open. Magical little shit.

"Princess." Kai says.

"G-Go away."

"No. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you that bad." He says, sitting on the bed and pulling me into his lap.

I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him close, feeling his heartbeat against mine.

"I thought something happened to you." I say.

"Nothing happened. I'm right here. I'll always be right here." Kai promises, hugging me tightly.

"Never do that again. I honestly thought I was a goner." I sighed.

"I promise I won't. I don't like seeing my princess upset." He replies.

"Can we watch a movie and cuddle? Like a comedy. I'm like, still scared." I say, laughing lightly.

"Of course." Kai says, getting up and starting to walk towards the living room.

"Wait." I say.

"Carry me. I'm too scared to walk." I admit shyly.

"I'm so sorry I scared you this bad." Kai says, scooping me up into his arms and carrying me into the living room, sitting me on the couch.

I picked the most recent funny movie on Netflix and cuddled myself like a Koala on Kai.

"You're so cute." Kai says.

I only hum in response and intertwine my fingers with his.
