your pov
I guess you could say, life gets worse before it gets better.
My little sister just passed away, and that is my worse in life. The funny thing is, I could've prevented it. Now I have a Mother in critical condition and a little sister I have to bury in three hours. If only I wouldn't have asked them to go get me some takeout. If only...
--
People I didn't even know we're crying at my sister's funeral. I just sat there, with a blank expression. How do you express yourself at such a tragic time? Not once have I cried, at all. Some of my family members have deemed me disrespectful, but I can't bring myself to do much of anything with emotion.
"I'm so sorry for your loss." My friends and family say one last time, before leaving me at the grave to stare where she is buried.
I'm alone in the rain, with nothing but the ground giving me support.
"Sissy, I-I'm so s-sorry. It's all m-my fault. You'd still b-be here if it w-weren't for m-me." I sob. The first time I've cried, and I'm completely alone.
Rain begins to pour on me, making it hard to tell if I'm crying, or just getting rained on.
I place my hand on her grave and cry harder than I've ever cried in my life. I find some sort of comfort in being near her grave, in this cold and stormy day.
I feel a hand bigger than mine placed over top of my own.
I snap my head up and see a gorgeous man, who doesn't even seem affected by the rain at all.
"Is this your sister?" He asks.
I nod, not saying anything because I can't risk sobbing in front of a complete stranger. I'm sure he can probably tell that I was in tears though.
(For the sake of the imagine, Enzo has a sister buried at this grave yard. Just believe, you assholes. 😊)
"My sister is buried right up there." He says, pointing farther up the grave yard.
"I'm sorry." I say quietly.
"It's okay, she's been gone for a long time." He replies.
"You're absolutely freezing." His British accent was very thick, I realized.
"I-I'm fine." I say.
"C'mon. You're cold, tired, and upset. I'll take you home." He offers.
I sigh in defeat, giving up and standing up, almost falling, but his arm wraps around my waist and steadies me.
He is the most handsome man that I've ever met. Maybe this was a gift, from my little sister. I'd like to believe that. She'd do something sneaky like this.
"Why are you laughing?" He asks.
"I think my sister sent you to me." I say, instantly regretting it after I said it.
"I think my sister made me find you." He replies.
"I'm Y/N." I say in a trance, completely blinded by this man's presence.
"I'm Enzo." He replies, as equally as intrigued as I am.
"I've got to get back to the hospital." I sigh. I totally forgot about my Mom during this moment.
"Why?" Enzo asks.
"My Mom is in the hospital. I need updates on her." I reply.
"I'll take you there." Enzo says, even though it comes out more like a question.
"That would be nice, thank you." I respond.
Enzo links our arms and walks out of the cemetery. It's still lightly raining, but not much at all. Both of us were completely soaked, and it was kind of gross.
"Do you mind if we stop by my house? I should probably change clothes." I tell him.
"Of course." Enzo replies.
--
Enzo awkwardly stands at my door way, after I walk in.
"You can come in, ya know." I giggle.
"Right, thanks." Enzo replies.
"I'll be right back." I say, going upstairs.
"Where's your bathroom?" He asks.
"Come with me. It's right beside my room."
I lead him to the room on the left of my room, and then go into my own.
I grab a pair of skinny jeans, and a long sleeve maroon v-neck shirt and throw them on the bed.
I cautiously pull off my wet clothes, leaving me in my matching bra and panties.
I sort of admire myself in the mirror. I've never felt so confident until this day, might as well enjoy it.
"Are you hun-" Enzo stops in his tracks as he realizes I'm basically stark naked.
I turn around and stand there, not even attempting to cover myself up.
"Hungry? Yeah, kind of. I haven't eaten in two days." I admit, putting my shirt on quickly.
Enzo gulps, still staring at me.
"I'll be downstairs in a minute." I say, hinting for him to go away.
"Right, okay." Enzo replies, backing out of the doorway and back downstairs.
I quickly throw on my skinny jeans and walk downstairs.
Enzo was standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for me.
"Sorry you had to see me half naked, probably scarred you." I say, sighing embarrassingly.
"It did. You are the most beautiful woman I've ever laid my eyes on." Enzo replies.
I blush like a tomato in response.
"Do you want something to eat? I'll take you out." Enzo offers.
Did he just ask me out on a date? Hmm..
"Yes, I'd love that." I respond.
I guess you could say, life gets worse before it gets better.
He is my better.
