CHAPTER 7
"That foul little-"
"I know." I cut Brittney off. I had just finished telling her and Bella about the encounter with Lacey and Brittney looked ready to storm back into drama and punch the living daylights out of her. We were all three currently hiding out in the girls bathroom so we could talk in private.
"What are you going to do?" Bella asked "I mean, we all know from personal experience that Lacey stops at nothing."
A year ago, Lacey had wanted to be Austin's girlfriend but we managed to convince him against it. One week later, Lacey threatened to reveal Brittney's biggest secret to the school that she had gotten out of him the month prior and by the next day, she was his girlfriend.
Brittney had cancer and was getting surgery at the end of the school year. She was born with it but it has been getting worse. This, however, did not dampen Brittney's attitude in the slightest. She seemed to just get more fire the worse the cancer got.
"I cannot believe I'm saying this but I think we should just keep away from her as much as possible. Remember, she has information on all of us." Brittney said, the only thing that would ever make her back down from a fight was the prospect of all of our secrets being revealed to the school.
Lacey somehow also knew about Bella's dad and the fact that Kent and I have not seen our parents in over a year unless you count two one-night visits to make sure we are still alive.
Both of our parents were translators and traveled everywhere in the world. Everywhere except home, that is. Since my parents made a lot of money as they traveled, they gave us each a credit card with way more money than Kent and I needed. With that and our monthly 'allowances' I am surprised we have not gotten another car so we won't have to share. I didn't like being a so-called 'rich kid' because people always thought of me as stuck up and spoiled when in reality, I spent my extra money founding orphanages and shelters nearby.
"Brittney's right, we can't do anything drastic. The only thing that we can do is watch her and hope she gets amnesia before she tells anyone." I said only half kidding.
"I wish, anyways how was Bryan?"
"He was great, he got the concept really quickly-" They interrupted me by bursting out laughing. "I mean in math." I quickly added.
"Sure, 1+1" Brittney said and she and Bella collapsed into another fit of laughter.
"There is nothing like that between us whatsoever." I defended.
"Keep telling yourself that." Bella chimed in and Brittney snorted. Suddenly the door to the bathroom swung open to reveal Bryan standing in the doorway with the slightest tinge of pink on his cheeks.
"Sorry if I am interrupting something, but Ashly needs to get to class. The teacher sent me to find you. I think she asked for you too." He added pointing at Bella before quickly exiting the bathroom.
I wonder how much he heard.
