CHAPTER 3
When I got back to the lunchroom a went back to the table where Brittney and Bella were talking, as soon as they saw me they immediately started asking a bunch of questions at once.
"What happened?"
"Are you okay?"
"Did you get detention?"
"Did you do something?"
"Are you suspended?" The last one came from Brittney.
I told them everything, from practically being forced to tutor Bryan, to him half threatened me in the hallway.
After I had finished, Brittney squealed. "You are the luckiest girl at this school! Getting all that alone time with the Bryan King! I so wish I was you right now." Bella nodded in agreement.
"First of all, we won't be alone, we will be in the library and second, the luckiest girl at this school, of anything I'm the unluckiest."
"Do you think anything will happen?" Bella asked completely ignoring my corrections "I mean, what if he asks you on a date? What if he kisses you?" She sighed, just because she is shy does not mean she can't be a hopeless romantic.
"Nothings going to happen other than me losing my mind trying to teach him math, I can tell you that." I said confidently, but in my head, I wasn't so sure. As we made our way to the locker rooms, we passed a group of Bryan's friends, they were talking and pointing right at me.
"I guess news travels fast when it has to do with Bryan King." I said groaning "Just what I wanted, to attract even more attention to me than I already get from hanging out with Brittney."
"It's not my fault I was born awesome." Brittney said, flipping her hair. I snorted and opened my mouth with a comeback but Bella cut me off.
"Anyway, what are you two doing after school today?" She asked trying to change the conversation to a less argument worthy topic.
Bella can always sense when an argument is starting and Brittney and I always find a way to argue about everything. One thing you should know about Bella is that she can't stand it when people fight because she had grown up to her parents yelling at each other when one day, her dad had packed up his stuff and left. Bella and her mother were left with barely enough money to feed themselves. Her mom had to quit her dream of becoming an author to get a full time job as a real-estate agent.
"Nothing, I'm probably just going to do my homework and then watch a movie or something" I said shrugging.
"I'm going to the mall to get an outfit for the party tomorrow night. You two are coming right? My brother is hosting a back to school party, correction I'm doing all the work including setting it up and then at the end of it showing everyone out and cleaning up before my parents get home. Apparently to quote my parents 'you should have known better Brittney, just because your brother is a lost cause does not mean you are'." I put my hand on Brittney's arm, talking about her parents always upset her.
"Hey you know that you could always come over to my house if you needed to get away from them." I said
"Thanks, it means a lot." Brittney said smiling.
After P.E which was the one class we all had together that consisted mostly of having the coach yell at us to run faster and control our heavy breathing we went back to the girls locker room. We changed quickly and then Bella and I went to art after grabbing our sketch books from our lockers.
Art is the only other class that Bella and I share and it's because Bella could have either taken art with me, or drama with Brittney and naturally as the shy girl she is she chose art, not that I blame her. When we got to class the teacher was just about to call my name for attendance.
I quickly slipped into a seat in the back row and Bella took the seat to my left. Mrs. Livi as she told us to call her was really nice and an amazing artist. She tells us about how she had gone all over the world to see the famous paintings in person.
The class had an element of history to it, yet somehow, I never got bored and learned things that she told us about from her personal experiences. In the middle of the class, I felt someone tap my shoulder and turned to my right to find a smirking Bryan sitting next to me. A bad boy in an art class? I raise my eyebrow at him, but go back to listening to Mrs. Livi. When the class is over, he pulls me aside before I can run off with Bella.
"What are you now, both my tutor and my stalker?" He asked, smirking at me again.
"Believe it or not, I would rather be doing other things at lunch tomorrow, not stuck in the library attempting to tutor you." I snapped back.
"Oh I expect you will try as hard as you can to tutor me, not just attempt to." He said a warning filling his voice.
"Fine." I say trying hard to look like I'm not scared "I will do what I can to make sure you pass, better?" Before he could reply I ran off to catch up with Bella to head to study hall.
