CHAPTER 10
I woke up to Kent attempting and failing to sneak unnoticed into my room. I watched him silently as he walked slowly towards my bed and was about to place a cup of tea on my bedside table. The moment his back was turned I reached out and tapped him on the shoulder, still in bed. He jumped a foot in the air, spilling a little bit of the tea on himself before turning around and frowning when he saw I was already awake.
"That's cruel. I come in here trying not to wake you up and bring you your favorite kind of tea and you scare the crap out of me." As he said this raised the mug out of my reach.
"Sorry. Now tea?" I asked and reached for it but he put it farther away.
"Well, everyone thinks you and Bryan like each other and are going to get together and-"
"Just hand me the cup" I said interrupting him
"And why would I do that?"
"Because I am a wonderful sister and you would do anything for me." I said fake sweatly.
"Yeah right." Kent snorted.
"Then why did you make me my favorite tea that I haven't had in over a year because you hate it only to hold it out of my reach?"
"Because I want a favor." Kent smirked again reminding me of Bryan.
"What kind of favor?" I asked cautiously.
"Oh, I don't know, but I'll come up with something."
"Fine. Now hand it over." You should know that for some reason, I was obsessed with tea, scented candles and books. Kent made me stop getting any more tea a year ago, because we were starting to run out of shelf space in the kitchen.
He handed me the cup before turning towards the door.
"Wait, what about school?" I asked realizing that it is already 9:30
"You're not going." He stated simply. "Oh and by the way, someone is coming to watch over you."
"I'm not five, I can take care of myself." I complained.
"What happened last night said otherwise." He said calmly before turning and walking down the stairs.
"Kent, who is it?" I yelled as I heard a burst of laughter coming from downstairs.
"You'll see." He yelled back still laughing
