CHAPTER 1
I groaned as I slowly opened my eyes and turned off my alarm. I looked at my clock, 6:59, I was supposed to wake up at 6:30. Great, just what I wanted, to sleep in on the first day of high school. I get up and get ready as quickly as I can without it showing much in my appearance.
"Come on Ash, it's time to go!" my annoying twin brother Kent called from downstairs.
"Coming!" I yelled back, quickly running down the stairs and grabbing a piece of toast from the toaster before I slipped my arm through the strap on my school bag and ran out the door.
A morning breeze hit my face as I made my way to the car that our parents forced us to share and sat in the front passenger seat while Kent who sat in the driver's seat, cranked up the radio
After what feels like a long time, we finally got to school after the torture of having to listen to Kent attempt to sing Danger Zone as loud as possible— I would say he succeeded. I got out of the car and immediately spotted them and by them I mean my best friends, Brittney Hunter and Isabella Johnson.
"Ash!" Brittney yelled causing people to stare but she didn't care, Brittney is the kind of girl who is not afraid to speak her mind and has a dark side that she does not try to keep hidden. Brittney also has a brother who happens to be Austin Hunter, the best friend of the school bad boy Bryan King. Bryan is known as the guy that all the girls in school not so secretly have a crush on, though they would never say it out loud.
Brittney stood next to Bella who was more of the quiet and shy type at school, but she was a blast out of school, not giving a shit in the world.
"Brittney, Bella, hey!" I said not as loudly as Brittney had but loud enough for her to hear over the excited chatter of the students surrounding us. "Where are your lockers? I think mine is next to the library." I said before Brittney can come up with another thing to declare loudly to half the school.
"I think mine is a couple of hallways away from yours," Bella said, speaking for the first time since I got there.
"Mine is next to Bella's sweet! We can meet up there between classes!" Brittney practically shouted causing even more people to stare.
"Um, Brittney, hate to break it to you, but I think you will be too busy running to the bathroom to fix your makeup to meet up to talk gossip with Bella between classes." I said shushing her.
Even though Bella didn't really talk to people in her classes, she always heard everything before us — the perks of being the quiet kid of the group.
"I guess." Brittney said giving in "But that doesn't mean that I'm not the first person you tell if my brother gets another girlfriend. I swear, that kid needs to slow down, I spend half of my time at home trying to convince his latest victim that he is only using her and will dump her the second a hotter one comes along!"
"Brittney, please turn it down, people are staring and listening to every word you say." Bella said glancing nervously at a group of boys from the basketball team who were laughing and repeating what Brittney had said in a higher imitation of her voice.
"Fine, but you have to promise." Brittney said, talking a little quieter than before which was still louder than a normal tone.
"Alright, I promise, happy?" Bella said before jumping as the bell rings and then running off to her locker.
"See you at lunch?" Brittney asked, turning to me.
"Yeah, see you then." I reply before hurrying off to my own locker.
