Chapter Twenty Five

*Ahsoka's POV*

Beep.Beep.Beep.

I groan, rolling over and putting my pillow over my head. I can ignore my commlink and go back to sleep, or get up and answer it. I choose going back to sleep. I try ignoring it, but whoever's on the other end is desperate. It might be an emergency. An emergency?!

Common sense finally catches up with me and I sit bolt upright, cursing at myself for being so stupid. I muffle a yawn, reaching for my commlink on the bedside table.

"Mmm?" I ask, no idea who's on the other end. There's a pause, so it isn't looking good.

"That is...some way to greet your master Ahsoka Tano," Anakin's voice muses. I slump on the bed in relief.

"Sorry," I yawn, "I didn't know you meant this early. It's dark outside you know," I add, knowledgeably.

"Really?" Anakin asks sarcastically.

"Uh huh. That means I shouldn't have to get up yet," I say, playing along. Leaving the commlink turned on, I start pulling on my clothes as I talk.

"You aren't even up yet?" the disbelief in my master's voice causes me to laugh.

"Well I am now," I smirk, straightening my utility belt.

"I told you to get up early you know," Anakin argues, and I can tell he's smiling.

"I know you did. But this is so early I think it might actually be late," I muse, grabbing my lightsaber and my backpack.

"No Snips, it is most definitely early," I hear muffled laughter in the background. Anakin's end of the conversation must sound a bit weird by itself.

"Are you sure?" I ask, stalling for more time.

"I'm sure, and so is everyone else. You, are the only one who isn't here. Get a move on, before we go without you," Anakin informs me. I groan in defeat.

"Fine, I'm coming! Let me grab a ration bar," I grab one from my bag, open the door and sprint down the corridor. I should really stop doing this, before I crash into someone. But, wait! Everyone else is in bed! I mutter to myself in my native language, wondering how on Coruscant Anakin was actually ready before me.

Soon I'm rushing down the steps and to the landing platform where Anakin, Obi Wan and Lux are waiting for me.

"Took you long enough," Anakin comments, walking up the ramp.

"That's what we usually say about you," comments Obi Wan, "You aren't exactly known for being on time,"

"Well thanks Obi Wan. But I was talking to my padawan," Anakin responds as we walk inside.

"I agree with Obi Wan," I offer, and Anakin rolls his eyes, as he sits down.

"Of course you do Snips," he states, starting the ship before I've sat down beside him.

I flop down, sorting the controls out.

"Are you sure this ship actually lifts off the ground master? It looks a bit battered. And Obi Wan told me about that ship you lent him, you know, the one you said was fine, but caught fire when he started it?" I tease him.

"Oh don't bring me into this," Obi Wan sighs from behind Anakin, and Lux laughs.

"Well what do you expect! This is the ship we went to Mortis in," he exclaims defensively.

"Mortis?" Lux asks, "What's that?"

He looks at me and I point at Obi Wan and my Master.

"Don't ask me, ask them. I have no idea how to describe that thing, apart from, a place I don't want to go to again any time soon," I say.

"Mortis, is, a place which is very strong in the force. It is also very dangerous, and I agree with Ahsoka on the part of not wanting to go there," Obi Wan explains, after a pause.

"In what ways is it dangerous?" Lux asks us. Me, Anakin and Obi Wan share a look.

"In ways you don't want to know about, let's just say," Anakin simplifies.

"Right," Lux doesn't look convinced. I glance out of the window. Now entering space, Coruscant has finally disappeared.

***

After a while of being fed up, we finally enter the atmosphere of Naboo. I've never seen a place like this before. Everything looks so calm and away from the War it seems to be in a different universe.

The city itself that we are staying in seems to be pleasant enough. The buildings are stone instead of iron or metal like Coruscant, and everything is colourful and covered in flowers.

"Remind me, how long are we staying here?" I ask Obi Wan.

"Until this whole issue blows over. Until then it isn't safe," Obi Wan explains.

"We're landing there," Anakin points to a landing platform by the side of a huge mountain, stopping me from answering Obi Wan. Together we land the ship, without crashing or jumping, and we head towards the door. Or me, Lux and Anakin do anyway.

"Wait! Anakin, Ahsoka, you need to wear cloaks. We don't need everyone knowing Jedi are here," Obi Wan explains, putting on his own.

"But it's hot out there!" Me and Anakin complain at the exact same time, making Obi Wan sigh.

"You don't have a choice," he says firmly. I roll my eyes at Anakin as we grudgingly drag out our cloaks. I bring out my smaller one, which has a hood and reaches just above my knees. Anakin brings out a similar length, just covering his lightsabers. Obi Wan shakes his head, adjusting his brown one, which reaches the floor. We put up our hoods, and take our bags out of the ship. Obi Wan leads.

I blink at the sudden brightness of the sun, and catch Lux smirking at me. I pull a face and hurry after Anakin, who's long strides have caused him to overtake his former master. Me and Lux hurry after the masters, not wanting to be left behind. We catch them up just in time to hear Obi Wan scolding Anakin for leading. I muffle a laugh with my left hand, as my  right has my bag. The familier jolt of pain makes me wince and regret it.

Just as we reach a set of steps, the door bursts open and two male Twi'leks stride out. The eldest, who had lime coloured skin, appeared to be in charge of the household, judging by the way he held himself. The blue skinned Twi'lek beside him appeared to be his son, who was around the same age as me and Lux. The son didn't appear to be as proud as his father, strolling casually with his hands in his pockets.

"Welcome!" The older Twi'lek greeted, as he came nearer, "I am Hah'mudes, but you can call me Hah. This is my son Lok'muke, but call him Lok,"

Obi Wan gestures to us to lower our hoods, so he can introduce us.

"Thank you Hah. I am Obi Wan Kenobi, this is my old padawan Anakin Skywalker, and his padawan, Ahsoka Tano. And of course, this is Lux Bonteri," Obi Wan introduces us. Hah smiles at us all.

"Please, come in. I can show you to your rooms," Hah offers, and we accept politely.

First he shows us the first floor, which has a large kitchen, living room and dining room, as well as countless unused offices and meeting rooms. On the second floor there are bathrooms and the main bedrooms, which are for us. The very top floor, the third one, holds Hah's, Lok's and the few other servants rooms. It's surprising, really, because nobody actually lives here.

After our tour of the house, we trudge to our rooms to unpack. Or in my case, sling the bag in the corner and collapse on the bed. Because I'm a very dignified Jedi like that.

I enjoy the fact that I practically sink into the bed, unlike my satisfactory bed at the Jedi temple. I'm tempted to go to sleep, but the only way I'm going to be doing that is if I want to be shouted at by SkyGuy. So I decide against it.

Instead I study my room. I look at the wardrobe in the corner, the balcony opposite the door, and the dressing table beside that. In the other corner there is a large armchair, and the corner to my right has a chest of drawers. My four poster bed sits against the wall in between the wardrobe and chest of drawers.

I pull myself to my feet and run my fingers gently along the green wallpaper. It's rough and dry like sandpaper. Thankfully there aren't any carpets in the house, seeing as with people like me and Skyguy around, we don't tend to stay clear of rolling on the floor. Mud and dirt would most definitely be trailed into the house by the two of us.

I wander out onto the balcony, fascinated by the beautiful view. Flower pots are hung on the outside of the railings, supporting brilliant bright colours.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door, and I glance guilty at the bag in the corner. Oh well.

"Come in!" I call, returning inside. The door opens and Lux appears, looking disappointed.

"I am allowed out aren't I?" He questions me seriously.

"Probably. Why?" I ask, having not really thought about it.

"I know I'm going to get bored really quickly in here. Furniture is the only thing in this building. They don't even have a library!" He complains, inviting himself to sit on my bed.

"Well I'm sure they have shops somewhere. You can buy whatever you want there. Unless you can come up with a creative thing to do with furniture, of course," I laugh, sitting down next to him.

"What are you suggesting?" Lux looks at me, mocking accusation on his face.

"What makes you think I am?" I grin at him.

"Experience, and the look on your face that you get when you know you aren't supposed to be doing something," he informs me.

"Is that good or bad?" I smirk at him.

"It's debatable," he says smartly, hitting my right shoulder playfully.

"You are so mean to me!" I complain, hitting back, and then laughing. But before I can get an answer, my commlink beeps and I answer it.

"Hello?" I ask them.

"Ahsoka. Whatever you do, wear your cloak at all times, unless you want to be killed by Obi Wan," he warns me.

"So you've been killed all ready?" I ask in disbelief.

"Is it that obvious?" I laugh at his question.

"Yes Anakin. It is that obvious,"

"Can you come and rescue me?" He asks, pleadingly.

"Rescue you? Is it really that bad?" I ask, confused.

"Yep. Can you distract him or come up with an excuse to get rid of me? And quickly. He'll be back in a minute," he begs me.

"Fine. I'll be there in a minute," without waiting for an answer, I turn my commlink off and turn to Lux.

"Any ideas?"

"Furniture. A big, heavy cupboard fell on him and he died," Lux offers innocently.

"Did I deserve that?" I ask, unimpressed.

"Maybe," Lux smirks.

"So how does he live?" I question Lux.

"He doesn't," Lux decides,"He fakes his death and Obi Wan never knows any better,"

"I'm interested to see how this works. If it doesn't, I'm blaming you," I say, getting up off the bed. But Lux grabs my hand.

"Wait, I need to see this with my own eyes," he says, laughing. I raise an eye marking.

"Take part at your own risk Lux Bonteri," I say, pulling away.

"Oh, and Ahsoka?"

"Mmm?" I turn just in time as his lips collide with mine, before he pulls away.

"Good luck!"
