Chapter Ten
The next day, as soon as I was ready, I called Anakin on my commlink. He didn't answer. This was annoying for a number of reasons.
1) I didn't know where he was.
2) I didn't know what he was doing.
3) I didn't know if he was in trouble or not.
4) I had nothing to do.
5) I didn't know what I needed to do.
I ended up contacting Obi Wan, who at first seemed surprised I didn't know where Anakin was but was soon sighing when I told him I had been left with no instructions. Unfortunately, Obi Wan had set off early to speak with the last few workers, and had not seen him since yesterday.
After Obi Wan I contacted Rex, who hadn't seen Anakin either. I asked for any possible positions, but Rex had none. I couldn't think of anyone else who would know, so I wandered around the Jedi temple looking for him.
For the entire morning, I looked everywhere, becoming increasingly worried. Anakin was still not answering and nobody knew where he was or might be. Eventually I gave up looking around the temple and went to the cafeteria to eat some lunch. On the way out again I ran into Obi Wan, who told me it was likely Anakin wandered into Coruscant to search an abandoned warehouse somewhere.
As I was getting to the point of feeling a bit useless, I decided to go into Coruscant and take a look around the warehouses, unsure whether or not Obi Wan was being serious.

I had a hooded cloak on, not wanting to have my lightsaber taken a second time. As well as to avoid being a target by bounty hunters.
I walked down the crowded street, focusing carefully using the force to avoid people I do not want to run into. The street is filled with the sound of people laughing and talking, with a few even singing. And this was one of the lower levels nearest to the surface. Fed up and uneasy with the crime filled atmosphere, I made my way back to the surface. I wasn't that families with the lower levels, so I decided to let the force guide me through the best route back up.
Before I knew it, I found myself standing before the lift I'd broken very recently. It was still broken, with my lightsaber cuts all over it, and the glass front broken, where I'd cut through before it hit the ground. Wincing slightly at the memory, I swiftly moved into the lift next to it just before the doors closed.
I found myself sharing the lift with a hooded man who looked as if he didn't often leave the lower levels. His clothes were in a ragged appearance, as if he'd been living during a rough time. Through using the force, I could tell his mind was focused on me. But before I could make any further mental judgement, the doors of the lift slid open and I made my way out of them.
But before I could do so, the man behind me pulled me back in, much to my surprise, and slammed a button on the wall, causing the doors to slid shut and the lift to shoot down again. From the quick glance at the button pressed, I knew this would be a long ride; we were going from the very top, to the very bottom. He grabbed my wrists holding them behind my back, taking advantage of my surprise. But I quickly swung my right leg around, knocking away his right leg and causing him to fall to the floor. But he didn't let go of me. Despite my efforts, I was pulled to the floor by his weight. And as I fell, my cloak slipped.
I thrashed around, trying to untangle myself from the cloak, the man and keep the lightsaber hidden from him and on my belt. I kicked the man again, who let go of one of my wrists to hit me. But I was quicker. I rolled over and jumped to my feet, kicking him away from me. He only grunted into pain. I used the spare time to throw my cloak back on.
But he was soon up again, and he threw himself at me in attempt to restrain me. Unfortunately for him, I happened to be standing against the glass wall, and as I lept to the side, he smashed the glass, which fell onto the citizens below. Somehow he kept his balance and spun around, leaping after me. But he fell, and as he did, he grabbed onto my ankle and I also fell. Rolling over, I aimed a kick at his face with my free foot, only to have it grabbed by his other hand. And then I realised it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought it would be.
As he got up, I moved myself into an almost bridge position. However, with my feet in his hands and me progressing into an arched handstand. Using the force, I pushed off the floor with my hands, jumping into the air. I kicked the man in his face as I flipped over, and my sudden movement caused to let go of me and let out a yell of surprise. I landed standing up, and drew my lightsaber quickly, pointing it at him.
"Jedi!" He hissed at me, his hands up and standing up slowly.
"Congratulations," I said dryly, still pointing the green blade at him, "Perhaps next time you will choose your victim more carefully," He smiled at me.
"You won't kill me, Jedi don't kill," he said, straightening up, and grinning.
"We kill in self defence and to stop the guilty," I tell him, jabbing the blade slightly closer to his throat.
"Liar!" He croaked, "You want me scared," he pulled a knife from his pocket.
"I've killed the guilty and in self defence actually," I tell him, using the force to whip the knife from his hand into mine, "So don't believe what others tell you,"
"But you won't kill me," he repeated.
"It's getting more and more tempting, my friend," I tell him half seriously as I handcuff him with his own handcuffs which were attached to his pocket.
Conveniently, the lift comes to a stop as soon as I'm finished, and I walk out with him to find several police droids waiting for us.
"Excellent! That was quick!" I say cheerfully, handing both him and his weapon over. They thank me and I watch as they swap the handcuffs for police approved ones. But they don't change them quickly enough.
As I walk away, I sense something fly towards my head, something that could kill me. I whip out my lightsaber and spin around, meeting the knife that fly's towards me perfectly. The knife soars through the air, and my lightsaber meets it in slow motion, or so it seems. Thanks to Jedi training and the force itself, I can handle situations like this calmly and precisely. The knife, now cut perfectly in two drops to the ground, and I pick it up using the force. I drop it into the police droids opened hand. But it isn't over.
The man whips out about ten identical, tiny bombs which people tend to judge by their size. The applause from the citizens from my knife cutting movement disappeared instantly. He throws them in random directions, until he only has one left. And I click; suicidal bombing.
I spin my lightsaber into a backwards grip, glaring at the man.
"That, was a very, very bad move," I say to him darkly.
"Ah...but you still won't kill me, I will kill you, me and everyone around us, with a press, of the big, red, button," he grinned evilly.
"Watch me," I snap, throwing up my hand and using the force to slam him into the nearest wall, and in the progress he dropped the control with the fearful red button. I forced jumped over to him, keeping him pinned to the wall using the force. I pick up the control, and pass it to a police droid. Then I remove my hand, and the man dropped to his knees. I turned to look at the police droids, who nodded. I turned back to the man keeling at my feet, spun my lightsaber around, and plunged it through the center if his heart. His face crumpled with pain and my heart was starting to beat wildly. I did not like doing this. I bent down to his level, deactivated my weapon and slipped it back on my belt.
"Jedi will kill, but only if they have to," I whispered in his ear, so only he could hear. I stood up and stepped away from his unmoving body as it slumped to the ground. I heard a few cheers in the background and a few of the faithful called out "Long live the Jedi" but I did my best to ignore them. I could not be proud of killing. But I could not feel guilty either. It was the the way of the Jedi. I did my best to tell myself it was either that or everyone die, and it made me feel slightly better.
I used the force to pick up my cloak, left abandoned near the (yet another in the same week) destroyed lift. I shook it free of broken glass and put it back on. I wanted to stay hidden to avoid being followed. However, I did not use the lifts to carry on my way. I'd still yet to get to the correct level in one. So instead, I burst into a run, to the surprise of the growing crowd and force leaped up the front of the lift towers and climbed on from there. Only when I'd forced myself through a broken exit door at the top of the shaft did I remember that I never went to a warehouse.
