chapter fifty five
Ahsoka's pov
Staying in this particular room wasn't going to help anyone - paticulary Anakin, who was probably stumbling around defenceless, about to be murdered by a dangerous criminal.
Though saying that, I wasn't in much of a better position myself. Sure, I had two lightsabers, but Anakin's didn't quite fit in my hands the way my own did. At least I had my shoto.
Coughing, I pulled myself to my feet. The floor seemed to sway slightly as I moved, but I couldn't tell if it was the building or just me. It was possible that I'd gained a concussion during the crash.
I kind of stumbled off, looking for somwhere to go. The thick cloud of smoke made it hard to do much beside choke, but I tried my best. I moved onwards, threatening myself with the possible fate of Anakin Skywalker if I wasn't there to save him.
It was a given that he didn't do too well on his own.
Eventually I stumbled across a wall and proceeded to follow it to the left, hoping that I would somehow come across a door of some sort. However, I made it around the room twice to find that all the walls were definitely walls and not doors.
I was forced to come to the conclusion that there was probably some sort of stair case in the middle of the room. Hopefully.
Because if not, I was probably doomed. The room seemed to lack where doors and windows were concerned.
The thickening smoke was not helping my cause either. It swirled around me so thickly that I couldn't tell where it came from, no matter how hard I tried. I struggled to see anything at all. The room was like a maze full of mirrors. Everything looked the same and I could see no clear passage.
It was then that I decided to think a little more like Anakin. Better a risk that a definite death.
So I asked myself what he would do in this situation. Trapped in a room full of smoke with no doors or windows? Easy. Make an exit yourself.
I slid my shoto into my hand, igniting it.
Then, with as much care and precision as I could muster, I began to carve a hole into the floor. It didn't take too long, as the floor was fairly thin, unlike the warships which were designed to survive damage. The red hot iron lines met and the slice of metal fell into the room below with a loud bang.
I jumped after it, unable to see any flames that might have killed me upon impact.
I fell for a few metres and then landed as gracefully as an oxygen deprived Jedi could. Which wasn't gracefully at all. But it was a lot better than what someone else I knew did at times.
I got back up to my feet, dusting myself off as best as I could, though it didn't make much difference. If I wanted to do it properly, I needed water - and that wasn't a luxury I had at the moment.
In fact, it didn't seem like I would get it any time soon.
Even more smoke filled this room. - If it was possible. The air was hot and humid, burning my skin, and I could feel the heat of the floor through my thick soled boots. If it got any hotter, the metal would be melting.
I guessed the main part of the fire was on the floor below, but that didn't mean it wouldn't spread.
From where I stood I couldn't see any doors in this room either, but that didn't mean there weren't any. If I had to, I would carry on creating doors forever if it meant I could grab Anakin and get the kriff out of here.
Now was probably the best chance I was going to get to find Anakin. I flicked on my commlink, faintly hoping that my master would be able to answer it. At least then I would know if he was all right.
The light blinked faintly through the smoke, but no reassuring voice accompanied it. The device remained stubbornly silent, causing dread to fill me.
I had no idea where he was, or even if he was still alive. He could have been bleeding to death, or fighting to the death with the faceless criminal.
Or maybe he'd just broken his commlink again, so he couldn't contact me.
I had no idea what to do.
And it was the most frustrating feeling ever.
A/N:
A really short chapter, but at least I actually updated this for once. I honestly can't even remember the last time I updated anything.
Recently I've kind of lost the will to update anything, because I had loads of drafts ready to publish for you all, but then my phone deleted everything, so I had to start from scratch. I really hate redoing things, because it doesn't seem to flow as well when you already know what happens at the end. Plus, I didn't want to do too much only for my phone to delete it all again.
This chapter was kind of rushed and didn't seem to flow too well, but that's just my opinion.
Please give me tips on how to improve my writing- even if it's just on writing down ideas.
For example, I know there is a serious lack of punctuation. - But that's mainly because I got lazy and just wanted to post something to prove I'm still alive.
I'm not even really sure how many of you still have this book in your library. I bet a lot of people deleted it, but I don't blame them. I would too if I had to wait this long.
Thanks for reading!

P.S.-
Which book should I update next? (If I ever get round to It)
