Chapter 54
When I woke up I found myself surrounded by a storm of both fire and smoke. The tongues of flames leapt skyward in all directions, leaving me trapped in a burning prison. Thick black smoke swirled in never ending circles above me, clouding my sight.
Upon impact I'd clearly been thrown across a large distance. I couldn't see the ship or the sky, so I was forced to assume there was a big gaping hole in the side of a skyscraper, but the smoke was too thick for me to see. I could only hear the roar of fire and the sound of the building slowly falling apart.
I groaned, shifting slowly to face the metal floor beside me, black ash and debris littering the floor. The smoke made it hard to see anything, but I was pretty sure my Master was not in sight. Panic flared inside me.
"Master?" I gave a strangled cough as I called out, my voice sounding far more strained and weaker than normal. It was obviously pointless to call out, I could barely hear myself, let alone anyone expect to hear me. So instead I forced myself upwards, wincing as I realised I could feel the heat of the flames against my back.
I reached out through the smoke to find something I could hold onto, something that would enable me to pull myself up, but all I could find was thick black smoke. I coughed and edged forwards, praying to the force that there wasn't a massive great hole in the floor ahead.
Then suddenly my knees collided with something smooth, causing it to roll away, glinting silver in the reflection of the flames. By the sound it made on the floor, I could tell it was metal. So I reached out for it, my fingers outstretched, snatching it from the floor without a second thought.
I realised what it was as I brought it back towards me, my bare fingers running over the familiar hilt as I searched it more carefully.
"Oh that's not good," I acknowledged, waving the smoke away so I could see. I stared at the lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker.
Then I put my hands down to my own belt, realising with horror that I only had my shoto left.
"Kriff," I murmured.
A/N:
Same. We're both thinking "OMG AHSOKAFANFIC ACTUALLY UPDATED SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Even if it only has just over 300 words. I'm really lazy. I still haven't recovered from episode 20 yet either so forgive me...
I think at some point somewhere I said I was now bringing this fan fiction to an end. WELL NOPE. I CHANGED MY MIND. AGAIN. This is not nearer to the middle than the end so you'll have to wait even longer for the book to finish.
And this chapter is bad because I honestly can't write in this style anymore. There's definitely a big difference between this book and my other books. I prefer my new style to this. Which do you prefer?
