Turning of Time: Chapter 5

__Sara Pov__

It was the day of the exam to graduate the academy. If I said I wasn't nervous... it would be true. All the things they taught us were fairly simple, and not to brag, but I picked them up quickly. Especially thanks to Sakura.

I walked into the classroom and was early again. I looked around to see who was here and saw Hinata. We had grown close, and I liked to talk with her.

I went and sat next to her. "Hey Hinata! What are you up to?"

She looked up at me. "Nothing really Sara-chan, just waiting around."

Most of the people that Hinata talked to would describe her as excesively shy, but when you got to know her she could form complete sentences without stuttering... depending on who was around. No matter what she was still way super quite.

"Yeah, are you nervous for the test today?"

"A little, what about you?"

"Nah! This thing will be a piece of pie! Just calm down I'm sure you'll do fine!"

"Y-yeah, I h-hope so..."

I looked around for the reason of her stutter and saw that Naruto had walked through the door. Of course, she had the biggest crush on the biggest goofball.

"You know Hinata, you really should just ask him out. What's the worst he can say? No?"

"S-s-sara! You know I c-can't just d-do that!"

"That's true enough, you'll just faint again." I smiled to take the sting out of my words.

She just blushed even harder than she was.

"Well see you around Hinata, class is about to start."

So saying I turned and hopped into my seat.

As I sat down I noticed that Shikamaru was asleep already. He really was pretty lazy, I mean class hadn't even started yet.

I sat quietly for a while before getting bored and starting to poke Shikamaru. He didn't do anything but sit there letting me poke him, but eventually he caught my hand.

"Could you please stop poking me Sara?"

"Well I suppose I could, but what would be the fun in that? You would just go and fall asleep again."

He sighed and dropped my hand, which now that I had control of it again I began my poking anew. Shikamaru stared at me for some time, probably hoping I would just leave him be.

"What do you want?"

"Will you play the game with me?"

"Do I really have to?"

Without hesitation I answered, "yes."

"What a drag..." though he said that he pulled out a piece of paper and started writing on it.

This was a 'game' we had designed one day to see who was smarter. He would write a question, trying to stump me, I would of course answer, he would check it and then I would write a question down for him. This went on until we grew bored, mostly because we never had a question the other couldn't answer, but it was a fun pastime in the middle of classes.

We got the same results as always, and when class started we stopped. People were called out one by one to take the test and eventually it was my turn.

When I got to the room I looked to see Iruka and another teacher at the front of the room behind a desk with headbands on it.

"Please do the Bunshin no Jutsu."

"Not this again!"

"Yes Sara, this again."

"Why do I have to do this again if I've already done it so many times?"

This time the other teacher answered, "We just want to test your chakra control, so could you please?"

"And who in the world might you be?"

"I'm Mizuki."

"So you are a teacher at the academy as well?"

"Yes that is correct."

"Which group are you currently teaching?"

"I'm teaching the group that will be graduating next year." By now you could tell his patience was wearing thin. Just what I expected. Something seemed off about him.

Iruka interupted at this point though. "Sara, could you just do the jutsu and get this over with?"

I made the handsigns and created three clones. I could have made more, but there was no point.

"Alright then you pass."

I walked up and grabbed a headband, and motioned for Iruka to come closer.

"I don't trust Mizuki," I whispered quitely, so the other dude couldn't hear. "His personality is completely wrong, and he doesn't seem like the type to trust at all, I would keep an eye on him."

Iruka just laughed, and I could tell he didn't believe me.

As I left I said one last parting remark, making it seem as if I was talking to myself, but loud enough for them to hear.

"I really like honey biscuts."

I could sense Iruka stiffen, and he got the point. Job accomplished.
