__Sara Pov__

I got up in the morning at 7:00 instead of going to the training grounds that early. I saw Kakashi in the kitchen after getting ready, and almost caught him pulling his mask down to eat, the three kids were still asleep.

Unfortunately he saw me before he pulled his mask down, so I saw nothing. I smirked at him, and knew he could see it in my eyes.

"I thought I told you to be at the training grounds at 7?"

"What you told us and what I do are two totally different things, besides I knew you wouldn't be there on time and be like 3 hours late, so I'm good." He couldn't argue that after all, seeing as he was sitting there in front of me at 7:30.

I walked over to the fridge and began opening it, but Kakashi was there holding it closed. "I thought I also told you to skip breakfast?"

"Again with the whole, 'I thought I told you' I'll do what I want. I don't care if I puke, NO ONE keeps me from food." I shot him a glare and he backed off shaking his head.

"Well I guess I'll go upstairs to eat then."

"Don't bother, I'll be out of your hair soon enough." With that I grabbed some strawberries from the fridge and walked out the front door. "See you at 10!"

I walked slowly through the streets of Konoha, looking in shops at their wares, nothing caught my eye though. I soon finished my strawberries and threw the container in a random dumpster. It was 9:00 now, so I started to head to the training grounds and arrived 15 minutes later.

"You are so late." Sakura nagged.

"Well I don't see eyepatch anywhere, so I think I'm pretty ok. Anyways, in all likelyhood he won't be here until about 10."

"I suppose that's true, must be nice knowing people's natures after a short conversation."

"Anyone could do it if they tried, I just actually do. Anyways what have you been up to for the past two hours?"

"Sitting and waiting for you and Kakashi."

"I see..."

"Heey! There you are Sara, why weren't you here on time?" Naruto appeared and started to question me.

So went the conversation, with Sasuke just standing off to the side. Eventually the time went on until Kakashi showed up at 10 like I had predicted.

"YOU'RE LATE!!!" Naruto and Sakura chorused.

"No duh Sherlock, where's Watson?"

Kakashi ignored me, "Sorry, a black cat was walking on the street in front of me and I had to go the long way to make sure not to cross its path."

"Right, that's a lie, so what are we doing here eyepatch?"

He looked at me with a 'really, that's what your gonna call me?' look.

"Well I can't use Mask Man because I wear a mask too."

"Whatever, you could just call me Kakashi. Anyways," He pulled out a timer and set it. "The clock is set for noon, you guys are supposed to get these bells," That was accompanied with the jingling of three bells. "Before the timer rings. Come at me with any weapons or jutsu you possess. If you don't come at me with the intent to kill, you will never get a bell."

After that Naruto piped up. "Kunai's are dangerous sensei, you couldn't even dodge a blackboard eraser!"

"You know, idiots like you are the first to be killed."

With that Naruto snapped and pulled out a kunai from his pouch, he charged towards Kakashi. In a flash Kakashi had taken Naruto's arm that was holding the kunai twisting it behind his back so that the kunai was pointing at Naruto's neck. There was a very audible gulp from the other three.

"I haven't even said go yet, but you came at me with the intent to kill, so good job." He smiled a one eyed smile, "I think I'm begining to like you guys."

"Well you already liked me so it's really just the other three."

"Anyways, ready," He released Naruto. "Go!"

Everyone scattered except, you guessed it, Naruto. I was hiding in a bush next to the lake. I watched until I saw Naruto launched in the lake by an ultimate butt poke, which I found hilarious, but didn't laugh. Instead I dove into the water and grabbed Naruto, dragging him into a hiding spot in the trees.

"Naruto, do you want to team up? If we go at him together, I think we'll have much better chances." I whispered urgently.

"No way Sara, I got this, I have an awesome plan, just watch me, I'll get a bell, believe it!" With that he dove back into the water to resume his fight.

I shook my head and made my way through the trees to Sakura. She was looking around, most likely trying to find Sasuke.

"Hey, Sakura." I tapped her shoulder. From where we were I could see the clones of Naruto fighting Kakashi.

She jumped a little. "Who? Oh, Sara. What is it?"

I glanced at the fight watching some Naruto's fighting amongst themselves. "Do you want to team up with me to help Naruto? Then we can get the bells a lot easier."

"What about Sasuke?"

"Naruto's right there, let's help him."

"I'm going to go look for Sasuke." with that she ran off into the forest to look for him. I just watched her, shaking my head yet again.

Sasuke was my last shot, and I felt his presence in a tree to my left. I jumped up next to him.

"Yo, duckbutt. What's up?"

He looked at me with a question in his eyes.

"Do you want to team up to help out Naruto? We can get the bells super easy then."

"Why would I team up with you? You'll just slow me down." He must have seen an opening because he launched some kunai at Kakashi.

I saw the situation out of the corner of my eye, Naruto hanging upside down because of an obvious trap, I threw a kunai with Sasuke's, but mine was aimed at the rope that Naruto was in. It cut through and Naruto fell to the ground, he crouched for a second before running off. I turned back to Sasuke, but he was off though the trees already. What a troublesome 'team'.

I felt Sakura's chakra and started heading in that direction, her chakra was disturbed so she must be in a genjutsu.

I was stopped in the forest by Kakashi. I got into a gaurding stance, pulling the sword out of its sheath at my hip. My sword wasn't fancy or anything, but it was well made and I knew how to use it. Kakashi came running at me, but was still reading his book.

I swung my sword aiming for, of course, the book. I cut a corner off of it and Kakashi looked at his book.

"You cut my book!" He complained.

"Yes, I warned you didn't I? Anyways, don't look so hurt, I know you're a shadow clone, so let me through so I can help Sakura out of the genjustu."

His eye widened almost imperceptibaly, but he didn't let me pass.

He put his book in his pouch, afraid of it getting cut again. and pulled out a kunai. We slashed at eachother for a while, until I realized that this was the real Kakashi. So his clone must be fighting Sasuke now. I knew Sasuke was fighting because his chakra was all over the place.

We cut eachother, him on his arm, me on my leg. Both were shallow wounds, and wouldn't impare fighting... or running. I sheathed my sword and reached into my pouch. He watched me warily as I did this.

I pulled out three shuriken with thread tied on them, I threw them at Kakashi tying him to a tree. It wouldn't hold long, but that wasn't what I needed. I ran off towards Sakura's direction.

When I reached Sakura I poured chakra into her, freeing her from the genjutsu.

"Sakura, are you all right?"

"Yeah... Oh my gosh what about Sasuke? He was all bloody and cut up everywhere!"

"You were in a genjutsu, he's probably fine. Do you want to team up now? If we get Sasuke us three might have a chance, and if we get Naruto as well we can probably get the bells."

"That's not important right now! I need to find Sasuke! Do you know where he is?"

I lifted my finger in his direction, his fight was already over anyways. I looked at the sky, the bell would be ringing in 5 minutes, not enough time to team up and attack him, even if I could convince one of my teammates. I walked off in the direction where the posts were getting there as the alarm sounded. I noticed Naruto tied to one, and decided to just leave him alone.

I sat on top of another of the posts waiting for the rest of my team members. Sasuke and Sakura came back together and shortly after Kakashi appeared.

He looked over us for a while thinking, when his gaze landed on me it had a glint of... pride?

"Well then, you all failed to get a bell, but I don't think that I'll send anyone back to the academy."

"Then you mean...?" Sakura let the sentence trail off.

"Yup, you three," He pointed at Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto. "should quit being shinobi."

"What!?" Naruto and Sakura chorused, Sasuke however, charged at Kakashi.

Kakashi easily handled him and stood on his head with his kunai at his throat. "You three are immature brats. For example... Sakura! Kill Naruto or Sasuke dies!" The look of panic in her face was intense. "Your lives are on the line in missions, do you guys even know why I did this?"

They all shook their heads but it seemed something occured to Naruto. "Wait, Kakashi-sensei, why only us three? What about Sara?"

All heads turned to me. I just sat on top of the stump staring at my 'teammates'.

"She passed the test, I suppose I should ask though. Sara, do you want to be a genin?"

The question came quickly and I responded immediately, "Not without my team."

"What do you mean? You could be a genin Sara! Why not take the chance?" Naruto questioned.

"I don't want to be a genin if it means leaving my team behind and out in the cold."

"That Naruto, is why Sara passed. She put the team before herself. Do you remember at the begining of the test? After I launched you into that lake? What did she do?"

"She pulled me out of the lake and offered to team up." He hung his head.

"Did you accept her offer?"

He was silent for a while. "No, I didn't."

"The whole point of this test was teamwork, but you were all caught up in something else to realize. Naruto, you ran around like a chicken with it's head chopped off, doing everything by yourself. Sakura, you were too busy worrying over Sasuke, who you had no idea where he was, to help Naruto, who was right in front of you. Sasuke, you left your entire team behind, thinking they would just get in your way. Sara offered to help each of you at least once, offered to work as a team, but you all declined. She however, made me put my book away, cut me, trapped me, and could have gotten a bell. Instead she ran off, leaving me there to help Sakura, her teammate."

They all had looks of shame on their faces by now. I could tell he was getting what he wanted, and they were being impacted big time.

"Right, now then, I'll give you guys all one last chance. Here are your lunches, don't give any to Naruto though, since he tried to eat without everyone else." He set the lunches in front of them, there were three.

He walked over to me then. "Sara, you can't help them here, they must reach the conclusion themselves. Take the lunch, you don't have to eat it, but make sure it looks like you are." I nodded my understanding.

They would have to learn this lesson themselves, if I gave the answer it would be meaningless.

"Got it Kakashi, I won't give the answer to your final test." I whispered in his ear as I hopped down off the post.

"If they don't make it, I'll see if I can put you on a different squad."

"About that... I need to talk to you about something later."

He looked at me for a second before walking off.

I grabbed a lunch and climbed back up to the top of the post. I sat there poking my food, just watching my teammates.

Eventually they looked around, and Sasuke held up his lunch to Naruto.

"What are you doing Sasuke?"

"Eat some, if you're hungry you'll just slow us down."

Then Sakura held hers up as well. "I'm on a diet anyways."

They had finally figured it out. I dropped my lunch in front of them and cut Naruto down.

Heads turned to look at me. I smiled waiting for it. Thunder boomed and Kakashi appeared in a puff of smoke.

"Yoooou...... Pass!"

Kakashi explained some stuff to them and then the three ate the lunches after I told them I had eaten breakfast.

Kakashi turned to me and smiled. "Good job, Sara."

I smiled right back at him. "Thanks... Kakashi-sensei."
