I was heartbreaking, to say the least, everything felt crushing, and grey
You couldn't even look at the clouds which now never seemed to go away without remembering him.
Why?

Why was the question on everyone's mind, but they didn't dare speak it, instead they flocked to each other like shadows, whispering, flickering, dancing shyly, too scared of the light that was now dim to ask.

The light was dim now, the shadow stretched longer, questions burning in their dark hooded eyes. They whispered things that were meant to be comforting like "I'm sorry" or "He was a hero" it was hard to believe he was dead. Actually dead. It seemed so impossible, he was so strong in life, like nothing could take him down. But he was dead now, gone.

Gone.
He was gone.

Before Kannabi bridge
Minato had left the room and Hidan, bored out of his mind, quickly went to Naruto's room, Naruto was walking back and forth quickly like a caged animal, rambling about something "Yo Sunshine" hissed Hidan "You need to calm the flying f***s down" Naruto stopped whirled around on his heel and faced Hidan "I'm so worried Hidan, for my father, for Kakashi, for, Rin, and, even Obito"

"I'm sure Obito's glad that he's an afterthought of yours" Naruto sighed "Shut up Hidan, I'm allowed to worry about my precious people"
"My preciousssss peoplesss" Hidan said in a terrifyingly good imitation of Orochimaru, a little over dramatic sure, Naruto sighed and finally, finally sat down, Hidan looked relieved "Well I've calmed down now" said Naruto somewhat childishly in a sulky voice, "Congratulations you win a dango" said Hidan rolling his eyes sarcastically,

that's all the man seemed to do. Be a sarcastic jerk "Why are you so worried, don't you trust your friends strengths?" Naruto's eyes furrowed "Yes, I trust all...that but I can still worry what if something goes wrong. Again."
"Where is the mission again?"
"Kannabi bridge" Hidan sighed, and settled on the bed near Naruto's legs, "Let's play a game, I'm bored and it will take your mind off of the twerps"

"You want to play a game? Now!?" Hidan smiled "Yeah, you need to chill I mean that's what my therapist always says, apparently I'm temperamental or something" he shrugs Naruto can't hold back his smile "Whose your therapist?"
"Itachi" Naruto snorted. Loudly "Oh that's all nice and good, Itachi's a great therapist"

"Please stop, I'm just imagining him-hahah- Looking at you with his sharingan and saying you will now go through my mangyko and see a bad memory, remember you have to stay calm"
"Sounds cool" said Hidan and shrugged, "Now can we please play a fu**ing game?! I'm low on chakra and I  can't terrorize people"

"AHH HIDAN STOP" Naruto yelped, the Akatsuki was mad, very mad, "I'm sorry! But I won that's the end of it!"
"NO!" Hidan took out his scythe and Naruto backed away in fear "okay come' on it was just a game! A stupid board game!"

"Than admit YOU CHEATED AND I WON" Naruto sighed "FINE! YOU WIN! AGHH" he slammed a pillow on the mad akatsuki. There was silence, as he stood in shock, death silence, Naruto felt a trickle of sweat make it's way down his neck, and than Bamff a pillow slammed into his head.

After their all out war, they settled down and Hidan realized he could stall no longer "The Iwa, which are the ninja's the little team has to face, have been seen going twords kannabi bridge, if they don't finish their mission fast, they will be overrun"

Naruto was silent "How long?" It seemed his life was always a matter of time now days, "A few hours, if everything goes according to plan, the bridge will be blown up and they will be out of there." Naruto took a shaky breath. "O-Okay"
"Don't do anything stupid sunshine" Naruto grinned.

After Kannabi bridge
Naruto was losing.
He was low on chakra. And there were many, many ninja, from the corner of his eye he saw Kakashi and Rin, both passed out, he smiled fondly. He had to protect them. He however was dangerously close to his life reserves.

"Kit, I think you should stop" Kurama cut in Naruto rolled his eyes "I have to save them Kurama or else this entire mission was for nothing!"
"But you could-"
"I'm willing to die to save my friends, and that's something Kakashi Sensei taught me."

He ground his teeth and charged again, trying his best not to use any Jutsu unless absolutely necessary he knew he was probably going to die. He was bleeding, had a stab wound on his thigh, multiple cuts, chakra exhaustion, and a sprained ankle and broken thumb.

He was okay with that. As long as he saved them.

When he turned around, to check on Kakashi and Rin again he was terrified, they were gone "Rin!! Kakashi!!" He was in panic, someone knocked him down from behind, he grabbed their leg and tripped them, bleeding out now. "Rin, Kakashi!!!"

"Relax sunshine"

Naruto had never been so happy to see someone. And in the foul mouthed Akatsuki's arms were Rin and Kakashi. "Take them back to the village, I got this, I'm full of chakra and these losers cant take me down" Naruto was conflicted.

"It's okay I'll be fine I'm immortal remember?" Hidan smiled, he handed Naruto Rin, and Kakashi, they were surprisingly light. "I'll see you later" said Hidan soothingly he placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, Naruto blinked "promise?"
"Yeah, yeah, bye-bye sunshine"

Naruto had gone to Konoha, he had dropped Rin and Kakashi off at the hospital, and waited for Hidan to come back. By now his chakra was draining. When Minato came back he had news.

And Hidan's scythe.

"I found blood, lots of it, and rocks, layers and layers I think he got buried very deep underground, he's undoubtedly dead." 

Naruto couldn't breath.

He was sure that Hidan was telling the truth, he wouldn't risk his life for them would he? He remembered the carefree smile, "I got this sunshine" he said he was full chakra...He was clearly lying. but why? Naruto was struggling

"I got this sunshine" he smiled, he had no reason to lie... he was a narcissistic Akatsuki. He wouldn't risk his life...

"I'll see you later"
"Promise?"
"Yeah, yeah, bye sunshine" he promised.
Naruto had turned around holding Rin and Kakashi, he had gone as fast as he could, limping, wincing but he was getting back to Konoha, Rin needed serious medical attention.

Hidan turned around "Alright I'm low on chakra so let's make this quick ya little sh*ts" they outnumbered him by 30 to one. He smiled and charged forward. His life was a battlefield , and he a warrior.
