Chapter Thirty Seven: The Complicated Thing.

Chapter Thirty Seven: The Complicated Thing.

Life. Life is a complicated thing, that many people don't think about. We all have a role in our life, but most of us don't know what is in. I'm part of that group, what is my role? What am I suppose to do?

Before, I was a girl that lived in a small town complaining to my teacher about my grade in their class. My brother was an alcoholic, the normal party guy.

Now look at my life, I'm a Vampire; the known novus sanguis. The Vampire that ruined thousands of Werewolves lives, with just one action.

I watched as the ring melted in the flames, pain exploded into my chest. Leaning forward my hand touches where the pain is. Getting down on one knee, I lean my head back and scream in agony.

An arm wraps around me, voices whisper all around the battle field.

"Sage!" Valentine's worried voice yells from behind me, I look up to find myself wrapped in his strong arms.

"Don't touch me!" I scream, escaping his arms almost have they were poison. I don't know why, my mind tells me to run from him.

The flame of pain spreads everywhere having me bite onto my arms trying to distract myself. But, I break the skin. My warm blood drips down my arm onto the grass.

"What's going on?" I hear my brothers voice shout as he drags himself out of the castle.

"The ring..." A soft voice mumbles.

"The ring! That's why she's in pain! The ring was made for her, now that it's turning into ashes she'll fill the pain till every last bit of it has vanished." Jacobs voice states, as he puts the pieces of the puzzle together.

My own blood drips into my mouth. Jasper runs towards to me, cradling me into his chest.

"It-it hurts Jasper." I cry, he nods his head and kisses my head.

"I know, I know." Soon darkness snatched me from Jaspers hands, unconsciousness has consumed me once again.

That's how I ended up here, in Jaspers arms as we walk in the forest. Everything is sore, my limbs feel heavy almost as tons of bricks are being laid on me.

"I can carry her you know?" Valentine asks Jasper, watching Jasper he looks over at him with a death glare.

For some odd reason, that made me smile. After the battle, my mind has told me to run from Valentine. And I don't know why. Jacobs walks beside Jasper, he looks over at me.

My shaky hand reaches out towards Jacob, Jasper looks down at me. He passes me into Jacobs arms, almost like I was a small child which causes me to giggle on how stupid we must look.

We continue walking.

"You're actually here." I mumble to myself as my hand touches Jacobs cheek. I rub my finger on his jaw taking in all of his glory.

"Yes, yes I am." He states with a smile, his smile brings a smile onto my face. My eyes drift behind him, hundreds of Vampires walk behind us as we walk towards what they call home; Valentine's castle.

Now looking at Jacob, we both stare into each other's eyes. Those light green eyes I've fallen in love with, those light greens have consumed my thoughts and actions.

"The dream..." I continue, "was it real?"

"You need your rest Sage." He states, completely ignoring my question as if I never asked. Biting my lip, I squint my eyes at him almost annoyed because of his last statement.

"Jacob." He doesn't look at me, I repeat once more with a stern voice.

"Was it real?" I asked him, he looks down at me. A small smirk tugs at the end of his lip.

"Did it feel real?" He asks me with his eyebrow raised. I do not answer his question, my mind contemplates on way to answer.

With my body sore and my mind racing, I'm soon out like a light.

Waking up to the sound of yelling outside my bedroom door isn't the best way to wake up. Looking around I'm in my bedroom in the castle.

"You will not have her!" A deep voice exclaims in pure anger.

"Get out of my Valentine." I recognize that strong voice, Jacob. Sitting up quickly I rub my eyes, soon the door opens.

A large built figure stands in the doorway, looking up Jacob looks down at me with a smile. He rushes over and picks me up bridal style once again.

Surprised, I'm about to ask him what's going on but Valentine guards our way out.

"Let's have her decide, shall we?" He continues, "would you rather stay here in the castle with me? Or stay with Jacob in his home?" Valentine's asks daring me to say what he doesn't want to here. Quickly getting out of Jacobs arms, he looks down at me with soft eyes.

"What about my brother?" The questions fumbles out before anything else, he's my top priority now.

"He'll be going with you wherever you choose." Jacob states, glaring at Valentine.

"I-I." My brain is fuzzy, it can't decide. Thinking about Jasper, I'd rather want him to stay with Jacob more than Valentine. I don't trust Valentine enough.

"Valentine," I continue, "you've been a great friend to me, but I must go with Jacob. I'm sorry, I'll be leaving with him." Valentine's once determined eyes now show betrayal.

"Lies!" He continues with a shout while he points a finger at me, "she's bewitched!"

Feeling my body getting lifted in the air once more, I look up to see Jacob with an amused expression.

"We'll be leaving now." He states and walks past Valentine into the large hallway.

"Some one is controlling her! Witches work! Witches work!" He exclaims and stands in the doorway of the room, he really is a sore loser.

Not a moment later we reach the entrance to the castle, Jasper is there already waiting for me. A few bruises are on his face, more hiding underneath his clothes. My eyes soften. Why did I have to drag my dear brother into this mess? What would Mother and Father think of me? They would say I'm an irresponsible teenage girl, that doesn't even know how to take care of herself.

Jasper opens the door for us, we walk outside but Jacob stops for a split moment.

"Goodbye Brother!" He shouts before the large doors close behind us.
