Chapter Thirteen: Be Patient

Slowly he stalks towards me, I've blocked out everything. Fear overcomes my thoughts and limbs. My mind tells me to move but my body doesn't listen. We're arms length away, that's when I have control over everything.

He reaches out to grab me but I'm able to move out of the way. My back hits the wall as I've moved out of the mans reach. His eyes are full of rage and determination, I squeak in fear.

All I can hear is his heavy footsteps as they pound against the wooden floor. People yelp in surprise as they're pushed out of my way, jogging down the hallway I'm determined to leave this party. The music gets louder and louder as I near the dance floor. Not wanting the ring to fall out of my hand, I put the ring on my middle finger. Making my way through the large crowd quickly his menacing footsteps draw nearer.

Neon lights are flashing everywhere while people jump and yell. Squeezing between sweaty bodies I'm able to escape the dance floor. As I do, a large bulky arm is wrapped around my waist. Yelping in surprise, a body is pressed against my backside. His chest vibrates as a deep chuckle is heard, hesitantly I look up to find the man from before. He holds a sadistic smirk on his face with malicious looking eyes. Trying to pry his arms, his chest just vibrates more while more chucked are heard.

"He'll be happy about this." I hear him mumble to himself, since everybody is partying nobody is paying attention to what's happening. I don't know where Jacob or anybody is they all scattered when we entered through the doors. Looking around, anxiety and worry return faster each second. My hands shake, my heart beat quickens.

The mans iron grips do not loosen as I kick and punch him. Yelling doesn't help at all, closer and closer we come to the front doors to leave the party.

"Hey man! Let her go!" A loud deep voice yells from behind him, another pair of hands wrap around my forearm as they rip me out of his grip. The man from before is about to reach for me, but soon we make eye contact. Fear is inside me as my hands still shake while my thoughts are jumbled together. But, his eyes change from sadistic to guilty. Not a moment later he runs out of the party. Looking to find my savior there stands, the one and only Jordan.

A breathe of relief escapes my lips, causing my hands to slowly stop shaking as my heart beat returns to its normal momentum. Jordan gives me a caring smile and puts his arm around my shoulder reassuring me as we leave the party.

Sitting on the couch, my head is low as Jacob sits in front me. During the ride back from the party, none of us talked. I questioned them but nobody answered. Confused during the whole car ride by not being able to see anything with the stupid blindfold and them not answering. When we got to the house I stomped my way up to the library needing to a break from reality.

I haven't taken this uncomfortable dress off but at the moment I don't care. Anything could've happened tonight, I understood that from the beginning but I never thought a strange stalker would try to kidnap me. Again.

"Answers." I state, Jacob slowly nods as he stares at me. He leans forward putting his elbows on his knees.

"I will only give you some of the answers." He stares, anger boils inside of me before I'm about to burst he interrupts me.

"The ring from tonight, belonged to your grandfather. He was a vampire, like me. His name was Jeremy, in his immortal life he found his true love. Your grandmother, Laura. She was a human like you. Over the years, they had a child and named him Micheal, your father. After your grandmother passed away he turned, I guess you could say. Over the decades he lost the ring, but I was able to find it. The ring around your finger will protect you from any evil as a human, and if you were a vampire you wouldn't burn in the sun. That ring was supposed to be pasted down to you. But it never did. Till now." He states, leaning back in his chair he folds his arms together. My eyes are knotted together as I try to wrap my mind around this new information. Nothing adds up, those are none of my relatives names. How can this ring protect me from evil?

"My father's name wasn't Micheal. It's Shawn, Shawn Paul. Neither were my grandparents names Jeremy nor Laura. So what are you talking about?" Jacob chuckles and shakes his head side to side, still confused on what's going on he never answers my question.

"Wear that ring, never take it off." He orders with a smirk, my mouth drops. So he's not going to answer my question?! Narrowing my eyes, I lean forward.

"Answer the question." I order Jacob, not backing out I repeat the order again. But he just ignores me.

"That's all I can say." He states while standing up to leave the library, grabbing his wrist as he passes by I push him back into the chair. My hands on both sides of his shoulders, we make eye contact. My eyes still narrow, I hold my ground. Holding onto his shoulder tight, I won't let him leave.

"You look hot when you're mad." He states, getting even more mad from his irrelevant comment rage and fury boils up inside of me, slowly he starts to realize that I'm being serious. I'm guessing by the look in my eyes, he knows not to mess with me. Hearing a big gulp come from Jacob he still doesn't answer the question. Leaning forward our noses are about to brush against each other, as I'm full of determination.

"What the?!" Somebody yells, from the loud voice I jump away in fear. Causing me to fall onto my back, laughter is heard as a hand appears above me. Looking up, the hand belongs to Jacob, who has a humongous grin on his face. Being the stubborn person I've always been, I fold my arms and narrow my eyes at him.

Jacobs eyes roll, not a moment later I'm thrown over his shoulder. Pressure is laid on my stomach as my arms and legs swing with the momentum while Jacob walks. Not wanting him to get my attention I don't acknowledge, he chuckles, causing his chest and shoulders to vibrate. Looking up, I see we're walking out of the library. Jordan stands by the doorway, with a confused face and his eyebrows knitted together. Rolling my eyes I wave goodbye to him. Hesitantly he waves back, confused on the situation.

"You're a stubborn girl, you know that?" Jacob questions me, ignoring him again causes another chuckle from him. Soon, he got where I was coming from and stopped playing around.

"Look, I wish I could tell you more answers but I can't. It'll be to much information to lay on you all at once. Please be patient." He pleads me, a huff comes is heard from me but I slowly nod my head.

Understanding Jacob I don't push the matter further. Soon, I'm standing in my bedroom with Jacob leaving the room. Another sigh comes from me knowing I'll have to wait to get what I want to know.

"Goodnight Sage." I hear Jacobs deep voice say as he stands in the doorway about to close the door.

"Goodnight Jacob." I state with a small smile, he smiles back something flashes in his eyes but it's soon gone. I wasn't able to read him because he left the room to quick. Not questioning what happened I change into some comfortable clothes, a few moments later I notice the window is slightly cracked open. My eyebrows knit together in confusion, last time I checked the window was closed and locked. Walking over hesitantly, the cool breeze of the night enters my room.

Putting both hands on the top of the window, I hesitate again. Should I escape? Looking back over towards the door, I think about everything. How they've been so caring even though I've seen the sadistic side of them. I know, I know they kidnapped me. But I'm able to get answers out of it, I need to find out about my father. Would they do anything to Jasper? A groan comes from me as I close the window, pressing my forehead up against the cold window. My thoughts are scattered everywhere as questions drown my thoughts. My hands start shaking as stress builds up inside of me, the weight of anxiety lays on my chest. Shaking my head, I run over to the small instrument that I've known to love my whole life. Sitting down my bed, my fingers immediately start to strum the chords.

The melody fills my ears, all the stress and worry soon leaves, letting me sit in silence. Knowing I've won this time, but I also know that sometimes it'll win.
