Chapter Ten: Emotions

The thin paper has words written all over it with my brothers hand writing all over it. Setting the paper on the nightstand, my thoughts are jumbled together. Torn between two decisions, a deep breathe comes from me. Running both hands through my hair, I'm tempted to read it. Jasper might've gone back to his horrible self. Would he tell me if he did? Probably not, but he might hint it.

Grasping the paper again, my eyes scan over it again before I read the words.

'Dear Sage,
Finding out you've been kidnap is hard, and the hardest thing is that I can't do anything about it. I want to know if you're safe, I want you here with me. I'm not aware if these guys are doing anything to you. I pray they aren't. Please write back, I need to know if you're okay. I love you little sister. Don't worry about me, I'm not going back to my old ways anytime soon. Please be okay, fight your way out. You've always been a fire. You need to worry about yourself and how you'll get out of here. They told me I'll see you soon, I hope that's the truth. Just wish I could help you out somehow.
From,
Jasper'

Swallowing down a sob my hands shake, placing the letter down onto the nightstand a small sob escapes. Clenching my jaws sadness and anger boil inside of me, so many emotions swarm my thoughts. Biting my lip to the point it draws blood, my hands shake even more. Stopping myself from stressing out deep breathes are heard from me. After this job I have to do for Jacob, I'm leaving this place. Big brother needs me, as I need him.

Walking around the large house, Jacobs voice is all I can hear. He decided to give me a little tour so I'm not as bored. There's a game room, theater room and rooms that I can't go in. Two double doors stick out to me, curiosity consumes me as my hand wraps around the cold doorknob. Jacob stops talking and looks over at me, an eyebrow raised on his face.

"It's just the library, no big deal shorty." He states trying to persuade me to go somewhere else. Rolling my eyes at the stupid nickname he gave me, the door is swung open as the large library room is shown. The ceiling is high above me as large bookshelf's hold different books. There is two floors with a gigantic wooden sleek staircase that leads you up to the next level. A ladder is found leaning against one of the many bookshelf's. Tables are scattered all around the library with chairs by them. Lengthy candles are placed all around, some on the banister. Now that I think about it, most furniture in this house is wooden.

My mouth drops as I stare at this beautiful library, layers of dusk cover the wooden furnitures. A humongous grin grows on my face, this is a place where I can be happy and be myself in. The best thing about it is that those vampires won't bother me in here. Walking into the room, my fingers graze against the books as I walk by. Grasping a random book, its very old and fragile. The smell of it makes me feel warm and happy inside, book worms could definitely get high off of this smell. I know I would. The pages of this old wools are very frail, the pages are also a creamy color.

The goofy grin is still on my face, as I stare at this archaic book. Jacob clears his throat behind me, looking over at him. Jacob has his arms crossed while his thick eyebrows are knitted. Wondering why he's pestering me, he's still puzzled.

"Why are you so interested in these stupid books? You can just watch the movies for some of them." He states while looking around the library. Putting his hands in his pockets my mouth drops from his statement. Blood boiling I shut the book and put the book back where it was.

"And hell is just a gigantic sauna." I state while glaring at him, he chuckles as his head shakes side to side. Jacob slowly walks towards the two main doors.

"I'll leave you alone for a few." He states, the door creeks as it closes. Knowing nobody else is in the library, that gigantic grin returns on my face. Might as well enjoy it while I can.

The sound of knocking comes from the door, my heads snaps over to the source of the noise. Darkness has fallen upon us, as the candles are now lit. Snooping around the library I was able to find a match. Allowing the person to come in, somebody pops into the room. Dale stands there with his hands in his pockets. My eyebrows knit together before I move back onto reading the book. A loud sigh comes from Dale, he sits in front of me with his arms crossed. Confused on what he's doing, my hands tighten around the book.

"I've heard from Jordan, that you know our secret. I'm aware we got off onto a rough start, but maybe we can learn thing about each other and not think about the past." He says with a small smile, looking up at him, his hands plays with the ring on his fingers. The ring is almost exactly like Marcus's, it's just different. The ring is a dark green color with a silver eagle on it. Hesitantly, I close the book and prepare to ask Dale a few questions.

"So, twenty questions?" I ask, since Dale wants to learn things about me. We might as well play the twenty questions game, that's how most people learn things about each other. Dale agrees and decides for him to go first in the game.

"How old are you?" He questions me while leaning back in his chair. Candles flicker around the library as we speak.

"Seventeen, how old are you?" I ask him, he chuckled a bit at the question but soon answers it with a tiny smile.

"One hundred and three, what is your dream job?" My eyes widen at bit at his answer, how can somebody be that old? I understand he is a vampire and all but I sure don't want to live that long.

"I know, I'm an old man." He muses with a grin while tapping his foot on the wooden floors. A giggle escapes from me, a light sparkle forms in his eye but soon fades.

"I never said that, but my dream job is to be a photographer." Answering his question, the memories of the photos I've taken on trips with my family enters my mind. One of my favorite pictures I've taken is when we were in Ireland. The green grass with mountains behind it with the sun setting. Truly one of my prized possessions. Missing those great moments, my smile falters. Emotions mix inside of me, it feels like it's grabbing me while throwing me around everywhere like I'm a doll, different emotions are catching me and throwing me, over and over. Dale raises an eyebrow, as he stares at me.

"Why so sad?" Questioning my expression, I shake my head and give him a fake smile. Trying to change the subject.

"It's my turn to ask a question, you know?" My voice is croaky for a split second, but I swallow down the sadness of those memories. Dale nods his head understanding what I'm hinting. Maybe Dale is not such a bad guy after all, even though he tries to be.
