Chapter Fifteen: My Loving Parents.
The sound of the pencil grazing against the paper, is the only thing I can hear as I work on homework. Jasper isn't home, meanings he's off somewhere. Probably another party.
A groan escapes from me as the equation on the paper doesn't make any sense. Putting my pencil down, I rub my temples while breathing slowly. Trying not to get frustrated over this stupid paper. Mom and Dad decided to go have date night, meaning I'm home alone. Looking out of the window the bright moon is shown high up in the sky as the silhouette of the forest surrounds the house. They left a few hours a go to one of the fanciest restraints in town, called Kobe' Japanese Steak House.
Since we live in a small town we only have a few restaurants and some fast food places. Since it's a date night, they went to the fanciest place. Looking at the time on my phone, it shows me that's it's almost eleven PM. They should be home soon. I'm happy they decided to go out on a date, they haven't done one in years since work has gotten in the way. It's nice to see them happy again, Jasper is never home so they don't always have a smile on their faces.
Groaning again, I return to work on this stupid homework for Mr. Andrews, what an old fart he is. Giving kids homework over the weekend. Who does that?!
The house is dead silent as I work this problem out again for the hundredth time, but the sound of my phone ringing stops me. Sighing, I look at the caller ID to see that's it's unknown number. This number looks familiar but I don't want to take my chances. Probably just some prank caller, might be a kid at school trying to mess with me as usual. Ignoring the ringing, I work back on the problem.
A few moments later, the ringing returns as does the unknown caller ID. Groaning loudly, I decide to answer the call.
"Hello?" I question the person on the other line, a polite old lady's voice greets me back.
"Is this Sage Paul?" She questions me, my eyebrows knit together in confusion. Why is somebody's Grandma calling me?
"Yes ma'am this is she, might I ask who you are?" I answer her question, setting the pencil down I lean back in the comfortable office chair waiting for her answer.
"Well Ms. Paul, my name is Levy. I work for West Lake hospital. Your parents got into a terrible accident. I need you to come to the hospital immediately." She states, sitting up immediately my eyes are wide. Grabbing a random jacket, I tell her I'll be there soon. I grab my keys and run out of the house quickly needing to get to the hospital. My hands are shaking as worry is all I can feel, fear soon mixes with worry. What happened? Are they okay? Will they be okay?

Running quickly to the front desk of the hospital, the smell of rubbing alcohol and cleaning liquids crawls its way into my nose. The lady at the front desk where's a light blue nurse outfit, with white shoes. Her black hair is pulled back into a tight bun.
"Where are my parents?!" I ask the lady as my hands slam down on the desk, breathing heavily the lady's eyes are wide while she stares at me.
"You're Sage Paul?" She questions me, nodding my head furiously she informs me that they're on the forth floor room 394. Jogging to the elevator, I press the button and rush towards the room once the elevator door opens. There I find my father hooked up to many wires, one in his mouth as more are connected everywhere. A beeping sound is heard as the heart monitor shows me the beat of his heart. A few seconds it beeps, then a few seconds later it beeps again.
Hurt and pain is all I can feel as I stare at my fathers fragile body. His breath is slow, while he is laid down on the white hospital bed. Scratches are all over him, bruises are shown. No doubt he had to have stitches somewhere. Tears fill up my eyes while I stare at him, my loving father hurt and I can't do anything to stop his pain. Walking in hesitantly, my hands cover my mouth as the tears drip one by one. Quite sobs are heard while I stare at him.
"Sage Paul?" A deep voice questions me, looking over I find a tall man with slicked back brown hair in a doctors coat he holds a clipboard in his hands. Nodding my head, he sighs and looks at the ground.
"Im Dr. Johnson. Your parents suffered a car crash. May I ask where your brother is?" He asks me, shrugging my shoulders telling him I don't know where Jasper is. He bites his lip as the clipboard in his hands is now placed on the table next to the hospital bed that my father lays on.
"Your Mother, she hit her head terribly during the event. We tried doing everything we could to save her but it was her time." He states looking at me with pity and sorrow, my breath soon vanishes as emptiness fills my heart. My loving mother gone, I couldn't tell her I loved her one last time. I couldn't tell her that she would always be on my mind. She's gone. The women that told me to keep my head high, not letting peoples words get to me. The lady who showed me the important things in life.
The beeping sound of the heart monitor soon stops as the sound of a loud long beep replaces it. Looking over at the heart monitor my fathers heartbeat is a line.
"Nurse! I need everybody in here!" Dr. Johnson shouts as cold hands wrap around my forearms, doctors and nurses run into the hospital room as somebody drags me out. Screaming for my parents, tears escape my eyes, my lips taste the bitter salty tears. Jumping back and forth to get out of the nurses arms, everything is in slow motion.
The doctors, trying to zap him back to life. But my fathers body just jumps. He doesn't wake up. Shouts are heard to try again, but they got the same result. Nothing.
The arms pull my back farther and farther away. Screams of pain and cries of help escape from me as I call to my loving parents. But they don't come back. They're dead. Gone forever.

Sitting up quickly, salty tears are all I can taste as sweat has my clothes stick to my body. Breathing heavily, my arms are wrapped around me as I'm sitting in a dark room. Sobs escape from me, there quite but soon are louder each time they escape my lips. My father died in front of my eyes, I couldn't tell him I love him and how I'll never forget him, he'll always be on my mind. I couldn't have a proper goodbye. My mother died in the same hospital, I couldn't tell her how much she meant to me. Jasper wasn't there to comfort me, he came home a few days later and acted like nothing happened. All I can do is just sit here crying my eyes out, praying that they are at peace. I hope they know how much they meant to me.
