Edgeworth's POV

Next Day

Courtroom

"This is the re-trial of ME-3. Defense? Are you ready?" The judge asks, the same as normal.

"Yes, your Honor." Kristoph nods, trying to hide his stress behind his glasses.

"Alright. Prosecutor, are you ready?" He messed up. Either way I wanted to answer but I can't. I'm in the defendant's seat.

"I am your Honor!" Panye nods. This case is so shut and done even he can do this. But I do have a card I need to play. It will get me the death penalty for sure but it might get what's left of Phoniex out alive.

"Now, call up your first witness, Mr. Panye."

Panye scoffs. "Of course! I'm going to call up The defendant himself! Miles Edgeworth! We all know he killed Ema so let's make it quick."

"Mr, Payne, we don't know for sure if Mr. Edgeworth did it yet. Even we did find him with a gun, it turned out to be fak-"

"That enough." I raise up from my seat, keeping my head down. "I admit it. I kidnapped Phoenix Wright." I sigh. Gasps fill the cold air and whispers. I could hear some but I didn't care to listen. I was just listening to the sound of banging on the door. The door to where the 'witnesses' hang out.

I walk slowly walk to the stand, ready to accept my death... Sort of. "I killed Larry Butz, Dick Gumshoe, Shelly De Killer, Ema Skye, Victor the kid and Phoenix Wright's sanity... And today he killed Lana Skye in my name. So, I want for this trial to end and deem me the killer of all theses cases. And Lana Skye's murder." People start to get up from their seats, yelling to one another.

"What happened to him?"

"Monster! Why did he do that?!"

"He's insane! He even admitted it!"

"He's so cold and not wavering..."

"Sociopath."

"Cold blooded killer."

"What's his motive?"

"ORDER IN THE COURT!" The Judge yells, slamming his wooden justice down multiple times. "So Edgeworth, you're admitting to ALL of these murders?"

"Yes. And for Lana Skye's I plead for Phoenix Wright 'not guilty for reason of insanity.' He told me he killed her and that is because I tortured him for three days straight." Gasps fill the room as I continue my tale. "I can prove he is insane in multiple ways."

"Well, what do you call insanity?" Panye interrupts. "People use this term very loosely now. And there is no use of proving it!"

"For one, there is. If I do, he doesn't die or be in prison for the rest of his life. Instead he'll get help and can re-enter society after they fix the damage I dealt. I deeply regret my actions but I do not feel like I can plea insanity. I controlled every crime I did, unlike Mr. Wright."

"Liar."

"The words are so hollow..."

"Do you think he maybe does care about him?"

"Sad but he still killed tons of people in cold blood."

"Who cares. He still killed someone."

"Please. Also for Panye's question of insanity, people define differently. Ablert Einstein said 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.' Legally, it's defined as ' a mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality and cannot conduct his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior.' The legal version all applies to Phoenix Wright. I made it out to him that everyone was out to get us. This version of people started to interfere how he normally thought of people. And he is very impulsive. So I want him to say what happen during the murder."

"B-but Mr. Edgeworth, you can't summon people!" Panye smirks.

"Then call him up. It will make this quicker."

"But Edgeworth!" Kristoph hisses. "You're just going to give up!?"

"Yes... Sorry I made you go to so much trouble to defend me. Instead, please help defend the case of insanity for Phoenix Wright." Please... He's my everything.

"Fine." Kristoph rolls his eyes.

"So, may I call up Phoenix up to the stand? I would also like Edgeworth to lead the questions." Lead? Damn, he's an idiot. Also that's YOUR job, not mine.

"Yes. We'll take a five minute recess so we can set up some things so he doesn't run off. He has already tried many times before." Poor guy. Treated like a creature even by the law. At least I get to see him once more.
