Tul's POV

Right after I ended Fluke's call, my head started to spin around. I knew this was not a good symptom. I had been instructed to come back to the hospital if I started experiencing dizziness. Driving myself to the hospital was not an option.

I called for a taxi. After I gave the operator my address, I was told that the cab driver would be arriving in fifteen to twenty minutes.

I slowly made my way out of the building.

While waiting for the taxi to arrive I pulled my phone from my pocket and called Max. After several rings I was directed to his voice mail.

"Max, you're probably still at work. I'm on my way to the ER. I'm having dizziness again. When you get this message please follow me there. I love you babe."

Third Person POV

Max carried the bags of Korean food and mandarin oranges up to his condo unit with a sinking heart. That bastard Fluke had come to visit Tul. That bloody jerk could not wait to get his hands on Tul. No wonder Tul was not picking up Max's call. Max was so gonna wring Tul's neck the moment he got inside their condo unit.

When Max reached their front door, he saw a plastic shopping bag hanging from the door knob. The bag had the logo of the same fruit market where Max had just gone to buy mandarin oranges for Tul. There was a piece of sticky paper attached to it.

Max removed the paper and read the message that had been written on it.

"Tul, I'm sorry that you're not taking my calls or coming to the front door. I brought you some mandarin oranges. I'll just leave them here outside your door, Fluke"

Max got all confused. If Tul was not here at the condo, where the hell was he?

Max removed the bag of oranges from the door knob and let himself into the unit. He set all the shopping bags on the kitchen counter and dug into his pocket for his phone.

Shit, his phone was not in his pocket. He must have left it in the car.

Max rushed down to the basement parking lot. He found his phone lying on the front passenger seat. He grabbed it and noticed that he had a voicemail notification. The voicemail was from Tul. Max remembered now that while he was on the road, his phone had rung. He knew from the ringtone that it was Tul calling but because he was driving he could not take the call. He had totally forgotten about Tul's call until just now.

Max went to his voicemail right away.

"Max, you're probably still at work. I'm on my way to the ER. I'm having dizziness again. When you get this message please follow me there. I love you babe."

Fucking hell!

Max quickly climbed into the driver's seat and kept his foot glued to the gas pedal until he reached the hospital.

He rushed inside the lobby and told the receptionist that he was there to see a patient in the ER. He gave Tul's name to the receptionist.

While the receptionist was searching her computer for Tul's information, Max saw Tul coming out of the ER exit.

"It's okay," Max told the receptionist before rushing towards Tul who had his arms outstretched for Max.

"I'm sorry I didn't get your message right away," Max said after he broke the hug.

"It's alright," Tul replied. "The ER doctor gave me an injection which worked on my dizziness. He did a brain scan and assured me that there wasn't anything serious going on. My dizziness was just something that he said I might still experience from time to time. The doctor prescribed some pills that I can take whenever I feel dizzy. He assured me that the dizzy spells would go away in a few days."

"Okay," said Max. "Do you have the pills with you already or do we have to pick them up at the pharmacy?"

"We have to pick them up from the pharmacy close to our place," Tul replied. "The doctor sent the prescription to their website."

"Let's go there and pick up your pills," Max said, leading Tul to where he had parked his car.

Max drove to the pharmacy and after parking outside the pharmacy building, he told Tul to wait in the car while he went inside to pick up his prescription. He asked Tul to give him his driver's license just in case the pharmacist asked for it since Max was not the one that the prescription was written out for.

While waiting in line to get to the pick up counter of the pharmacy, Max called Tul to make sure that he was feeling alright.

He was still on the phone with Tul when he walked up to the pick up counter.

"Max, you sonofabitch! What are you doing here???"

Max looked up to see who was the pharmacist who had just insulted him by calling him a sonofabitch.

Oh shit of all shits, it was his girlfriend from his high school years.

For those who don't know her, her name is Meiko Chonnikan. She played the role of Janejira in "Manner of Death."
