A Runaway Groom
The Rajvansh mansion stood in stately grandeur, a beautiful combination of tradition and modernity that have had remained the same with the flow of time. Within its decorated halls and lush gardens, the air was thick with hope as the wedding ceremony of Kunal, the younger son of the Rajvansh family, was about to begin in a day .
As the festivities unfolded, Abir, Kunal's elder brother, watched the proceedings with a mixture of pride and fears. His thoughts strayed to his brother and the weight of the expectations that had been cast upon him, a weight that Abir knew all too well. But amidst the whispers of tradition and duty, love had found its way into the heart of Kunal, weaving a tale that would soon change the dynamics of relations.
In a distant corner of the mansion, far from the prying eyes and the rhythmic beats of the celebrations, Kunal stood with Kuhu, a spirited and free-spirited young woman whose laughter had ignited a spark within his heart.
Their love, once hidden in stolen glances and whispered promises, had blossomed into a fervent desire to build a life together, unshackled from the constraints of tradition.
As the evening wore on, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the corridors. Tara, Abir's spirited and inquisitive sister, had chanced upon the secret meeting between Kunal and Kuhu. Her heart raced with a mixture of disbelief and empathy as she witnessed the depth of their love and the affection that had woven its way into their hearts.
Tara's eyes widened with realization, and her steps quickened as she made her way back to the grand hall. Her mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, torn between loyalty to her family and the unyielding truth of love's embrace.
She knew that their lives were on the verge of irreparable change, and the aftermath of their choices would soon turn into a tempest for their traditional family.
As Tara stood amidst the grandeur of the celebration, her gaze lingered on her brother, Abir, and in that moment, she knew that the tides of their lives were about to shift.
Tara's eyes met Abir's across the room, and in that fleeting moment, she saw a reflection of her own conflicted emotions mirrored in his gaze.
As the night drew to a close, the grand hall emptied, leaving behind a silence that was thick with unspoken truths and the weight of impending change. Tara found herself standing before Abir, her heart heavy with the knowledge of what she had witnessed.
"Bhai," she began, her voice filled with urgency, "I have seen Kunal and Kuhu together. Their love has led them to make a decision that will shake the very foundation of our family's traditions."
Abir's eyes widened with a mixture of surprise and concern. He knew that the choices made by Kunal and Kuhu would have far-reaching consequences, not just for their family, but for the futures they had envisioned for themselves.
Tara continued, her voice unwavering, "Our family's honor will be tested, and the love that binds them will defy the expectations that have been placed upon them. What will you do, Bhai, when love and tradition collide in such a drastic way?"
Abir's brow furrowed in contemplation, his thoughts consumed by the weight of his brother's choices and the demands of their family's legacy. He knew that the time had come for him to confront the unyielding truths that lay at the intersection of love and duty, and his heart ached with the burden of the decisions that awaited him.
Mrs.Parekh, their neighbour couldn't stop herself from commenting "This Rajvansh family has a tradition of running away from marriage. Earlier Ketki ran away from her Godhana and now Kunal".
Mrs.Dave, another lady commented "Yeah you are right, Mrs.Parekh. We have heard of runaway brides, this is the first case of Runaway Groom".
Tara who was listening to all this for a while grew impatient and said "Parekh Aunty, you know what Ketki di didn't ran away from her Godhana but your son Ved married Mayura before my sister could marry him. Better look forward to your family rather than commenting at my siblings ".
She continued and said "Mrs.Dave your daughter Kinjal too ran away with Paritosh last year on Navratri? Isn't it?."
Mrs.Dave frowned at her face.
Tara gave Abir a letter from Kunal which he gave her last night.
Bhai,
Abir, my brother, I have fallen deeply in love with Kuhu. Her laughter, her grace, and her gentle spirit have captivated me to no end. We have spent countless moments together, sharing our dreams, our fears, and our aspirations. Each passing day has only strengthened the bond between us, and it has become clear to me that she is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
With a heavy heart, I must inform you that I have made the decision to leave our home and marry Kuhu. I understand the complexities and challenges that lie ahead, but I want you to know that this choice has not been made lightly. I have pondered upon it deeply, considering every possible outcome, and I promise you, dear brother, that I will do everything within my power to ensure a life of happiness and fulfillment for both Kuhu and myself.
Our love will be our guiding light, and with your blessings, we will embark on this new chapter with hope and determination.
Yours
Nanko
As the night waned, the Rajvansh mansion lay cloaked in the silence of impending change, and the destinies of the brothers, Abir and Kunal, stood at the precipice of an irrevocable shift that would test the endurance of tradition, the resilience of love, and the unyielding spirit of the human heart.
Abir couldn't believe his eyes when he completed reading the letter.Parul, his maasi came running towards him.
"Kunal chala Gaya Abir..chala gaya Kunal" said Parul in tears.
(Kunal went away,Kunal went away)
"Meenu we need to talk to Maheshwaris about this " said Yashpal, eldest member of the family.
"Yes bapuji..What Kunal did will tarnish our fame. Kaushal make sure this news doesn't go in Media"said Meenakshi, mother of Abir,Tara and Kunal.
After sometime, Meenakshi asks Abir to marry Misthi.
"But maa, please ask Misthi if she says yes then only I will marry her" said Abir firmly.
"You have to marry her by tomorrow evening" replied Meenakshi sternly.
As Abir sat in his bedroom, his mind drifted back to a time long ago when he and Kunal were just young boys.
Flashback
They were playing in the park near their house, the sun shining brightly overhead. Abir had always been like a father figure to Kunal, as he had never known his own father who had left when he was too small to remember.
On that particular day, as they swung on the swings, Kunal suddenly stopped and looked at Abir with a serious expression on his face. "Bhai," he said, his voice filled with determination, "I promise you, I will never leave your side. We will always be together, no matter what."
Abir looked up at Kunal, his eyes wide with emotion. "Really Nanko?" he asked, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "Forever and ever. Nanko?"
"Forever and ever," Kunal replied, his voice filled with sincerity. "I will always be here for you, Bhai. You can count on me."
Tears welled up in Abir's eyes as he hugged Kunal tightly, feeling a sense of security and love that he had never experienced before. In that moment, a bond was formed between the two.
Flashback Ends
"Promises made between siblings are sacred bonds, but broken promises can leave scars that may never truly heal."
