ten-
taehyung did not stay for an hour.
not that jeongguk was expecting him too, it would be far too much to hope for from a disappointment of an acquaintance. or more so a guy like him.
to keep it simple, guys like taehyung did not hang out with guys like jeongguk.
it was like watching a tiger play with a bunny rabbit.
jeongguk was well aware of how little he could do to stand up to him, it was an imposturous decision to make. an imposturous decision to ponder about in the first place.
he wished he'd have stayed a little while longer though.
just an itty bitty bit!
"i'm leaving" the silver haired boy had deadpanned, approximately twenty-two-and-a-half minutes after his rather tardy arrival. jeongguk really didn't have the willpower to complain, it would have been useless. not that it mattered to the situation but the small boy wondered why he had to dash off so fast- surely he didn't hate him that much?
was he that detestable?!
that was far from the point. if he could just somehow muster up the courage to confront him, he might just get the upper hand. yes! that was right, he'd intimidate him.
definitely the way to go.
on second thoughts, never mind.
jeongguk decided this promptly, eyeing how feisty taehyung was looking right now. he shut his mouth and timidly stacked some books beside him.
he'd probably just embarrass himself more than he already had.
sure, jeongguk seemed to know something about taehyung that no one else seemed to know, but that didn't mean that he could plop himself in the situation of blurting out some of his very own personal information that had little to do with him. anything he said could be used against him. it was like jeongguk was trapped in his own snake pit with a hungry lion.
and besides, it wasn't like he was helping in the slightest or that he ever would help. he was just sat there on his phone being an unfortunate inconvenience in the world.
an annoyingly attractive inconvenience.
"b-but i thought your swimming practice started at six o'clock" jeongguk mumbled, more to himself than the other boy. why he said it, he had no idea. who was kim taehyung to care about abandoning him to do all of this library chores by himself. he'd most probably rejoice, considering how much a disrespectful sod he was.
a bully actually.
kim taehyung was a self centered, egotistical bully that cared for no one and nothing.
"i don't think that's any of your business." the older smiled ironically, zipping up his fat duffel bag that presumably had his swimming stuff inside.
"s-sorry." jeongguk whispered with a soft pout. yes, it was true. perhaps he was being more than a little intrusive. couldn't be helped though really.
taehyung's hand stopped mid zip.
his thick brows knitted together, eyes boring into the floor as he opened his mouth in contemplation and jeongguk was so sure he was going to get yelled at like always.
"i-i mean... i demand to know... right now... preferably...perhaps... if you wish..." the tiny boy cried, panicking and pointing up his book scanner at the silver haired male as though it were his gun and he was going to shoot him with it and end his life and oh, if only jeon jeongguk had the courage to do that without his buckling knees and quivering hands and inevitably pissing his pants at the sight of kim taehyung's deathly stare. "please." he squeaked.
fuck.
it sounded a lot stronger in his head.
gosh, this was pathetic?! is this what his idea of standing up yourself was? if so, jeongguk figured he wouldn't get very far in life. he was simply too nice for all of that.
his cheeks tinged pink with shame as he quickly put down the scanner, gulping at how silent the silver haired boy had become.
oh, it was lethal. death by silence!
yes, that's how he'd die, he'd chosen so immediately.
jeongguk wondered what was going on in his mind.
the silver scoffed at the sight with a cocked head. his shining locks concealed those burning eyes that the younger always had difficulty looking away from. he was greatful for it because if he looked at him, he would surely collapse on the spot.
taehyung bit his lip and took a few slow steps forward and simultaneously, jeongguk reciprocated his actions.
in the opposite direction.
it wasn't soon until he realised he had nowhere else to go and kim taehyung had quite cunningly cornered him against the library desk, jeongguk mere seconds away from letting out a frightened cry because fuck, he had nowhere else to look except right into his bleak, cat-like eyes. he looked ready to fight.
and all of a sudden, their faces were nothing but a few inches apart and jeongguk felt every cell in his body quiver with utter fear as taehyung's features cleared above his lowered brows. his smirk was what he saw first. taunting, teasing, whatever you wanted to call it. do nothing but gulp down the knot in his throat.
there was a long hand that came out to brace at his side, too particularly close for jeongguk's liking. but that was little to worry about as of now.
he could do nothing.
do nothing but try to control his breath.
"don't bother trying to get to know me, kitten." taehyung purred lowly. "you know little about me, and knowing more will only bring you harm."
what was that supposed to mean?!
"i-i know more about you than others do." he stuttered, cowering slightly. he shouldn't have said that, he really shouldn't have-
"what do you know?" the taller frowned.
quick! make something up gguk! something, anything, just one tiny weeny thing that wouldn't make him look like an utter fool.
the truth was, he knew little about kim taehyung and his shenanigans and every day life- he didn't want to know anymore either, so he figured it would be better to say something rather quickly to avoid him by all costs.
but wait. the small boy pondered. why not... just tell him the truth.
jeongguk did know something that others didn't.
surely... it wouldn't be harmful to... remind him of that small fact?
right?
"i know you sing." he deadpanned.
shit!
you've really outdone yourself this time, gguk. you deserve a fucking pat on the back.
"thought i told you to forget that little fact." taehyung frowned.
"s'little hard to forget."
okay, he really had to stop. this wasn't going to end well.
"why's that?"
"because," the ravenette started. because you're voice is incredible and i think i'm in love with it which is strange because guys like you don't usually sing and i feel like i'm in a high school musical/ camp rock crossover.
"because you sound shit." jeongguk lied.
if it were even possible, taehyung's frown deepened even more. to the extent that jeongguk could practically see his forehead lines crease his oh-so-perfect face.
"you're fibbin."
"am not." the younger violently shook his head, hoping to fuck he couldn't see the red that had suddenly blossomed on his chubby cheeks.
taehyung leaned in further.
"i'd like to see you sing better than i ever could."
"can't." the younger squeaked, yet again. when was he going to stop cornering him? it was a rather disruptive intrusion of his personal space!
taehyung replied with a quick little smirk before removing himself. "s'what i thought." he smiled smugly.
fair enough.
but just because jeongguk could sing, didn't mean taehyung could say that.
he couldn't.
"b-but i-"
"if there's nothing else, then i'll be off." the silver bared his teeth in a sickeningly sweet grin before latching his hand onto his duffel bag and swinging it over his shoulder. the library suddenly felt very warm.
"t-tell me." jeongguk asked again.
taehyung paused for a second at the door, hand hesitant on the door handle.
he looked like he was going to say something. like he was going to open his mouth and let him in on whatever it was he was doing because whatever it was; it certainly wasn't swimming practice.
namjoon had told him that taehyung hadn't been swimming for weeks. he had simply disappeared. then where would he go? what business did kim taehyung have?
maybe he's a stoner?
or a pimp?
or worse... a play boy!
there's nothing new there, gguk. you know how promiscuous he is. jeongguk reassured himself, wondering how many girls he'd stuck his dick in.
jeongguk hadn't stuck his dick in anything yet. he often liked to imagine how it would feel because it wasn't gonna happen anytime soon.
"no." taehyung growled, silver locks shifting as he slammed the door shut behind him and sauntered down the street, into the pitch night.
