Truth

Eyes wide open

Lips sealed

Can't say a word

Without spilling the truth

No one need know

The things I hide

Beneath the surface

Deep inside

Secrets I believe

Are not meant to be told

So I'll keep it

All to myself

The truth can't be set free

Lock it away

My lips are sealed

And my eyes wide open

Two Weeks After

My vision slightly blurs and

I feel myself slightly swaying

Like a flower

In the wind

Grey spots appear in my vision

And I blink twice to

Try to get them to disappear

I feel dizzy

A headache comes on

I remind myself that

Headaches are nothing

And I need to be thin

I try and focus

But my brain seems to

Not want to

Do anything

At all

I manage to step onto the scales

While supporting myself

Holding onto the sink

Like it's my life

she was nothing but skin and bones

how hadn't anybody noticed?

"i'm fat," she'd always tell me.

"i'm not hungry," she'd always justify.

but i don't think she's fat

or ugly

in fact, i think she's the most beautiful thing on the planet

but she looks so lifeless

so wilted

and the familiar, carefree glow in her eyes

has disappeared

oh where, oh where, did my best friend go?
