Chapter 10: The Anticipation
A week later, as the sun set, a blue dragoness sat at the edge of a cliff, looking out into the distance. With a sigh she took off into the air as she headed home from searching for her daughter. As she soared through the air, wind blowing in her face, a small tear trickled down her blue scales that rest on her face. She then saw the mountain she called home, appear into her view. She let out a small sigh of relief as she flew down towards it, landing on a ledge. She walked over towards a cave and inside it was a shadow drake, waiting for her arrival.
"Did you find her?" the shadow dragon asked with concern.
"Does it look like it?" the dragoness yelled with a frog in her throat. She then walked passed him and curled up in a corner.
"Don't worry Mizu. We'll find her," the shadow dragon said in a reassuring voice, "Besides, you still got me 'ey"
"Oh Shadow," Mizu said with a chuckle as she seductively walked towards him, "You always find a way to brighten my spirit."
"That's my job," Shadow said looking at the sleek blue body in front of him, "To keep my mate happy."
Shadow smirked as a small purr escaped his maw as they nuzzled together. They pulled away from each other to find a slightly disturbed Kori. Kori shook the thought out of her mind and ran towards her parents.
"It's Winston! He's back!" Kori shouted with excitement as the form of a dark blue dragon appeared in the distance followed by hundreds of dragons. Mizu ran towards the entrance followed by Shadow to see their long lost son.
"Mother! Father!" the blue drake said as he landed on the ledge. He collided with his parents as they formed a hug. When they pulled away he told them everything.
"Of course Winston!" Mizu replied to his explanation, "Now you must be starving after being in that place. Come Winston, we will give you a real meal."
After a few hours of laughing and talking they were all tuckered out. Mizu lead Winston to his part of the cave where he nestled into his nest. He finally felt secure and safe. He finally felt the taste of freedom. Before he knew it he was fast asleep. He needed that sleep, especially for what he's going to do tomorrow. Throughout the valley, dragons from the miserable place, were all sleeping curled up in straw nests. They let themselves be consumed by the darkness as they slept for they all knew that they were safe at last.

Tsunami looked out the window in her cage. With a smirk on her face, she knew what was to come tomorrow. She knew she wouldn't be in this hell of a place. She knew she would be nestled up in her nest. And best of all, she would be with her family again and a few friends she met here before they all escaped. There were three of them, Neotrix, West, and Luna. Neotrix is an ice dragon, like Kori, however, they are completely different. Neotrix is a bit too seductive. West on the other hand, is a noble sky dragon who is strongly built and has a sense of humor. Luna is a shy forest dragon. However she can be quite talkative and protective. Although they can have their different 'moments' Tsunami likes all of her new friends and wishes to see them again. Even if it means dying for their sake. Tsunami continued to look out the window as the last morsel of sunlight slipped under the horizon. She then turned and looked at her nest filled with blankets, pillows, and quilts.
'They really thought that they could trust me huh.' Tsunami thought with a smirk, 'Well they thought wrong.'
Tsunami then walked over to her nest and slumped down on it. Although all they did was feed her, let her roam, and bathe her, she felt pretty exhausted. In a few moments she felt herself fall into a deep slumber.
