Epilogue
"Good morning, Mrs. Reese."
Harper smiled wide as she stretched out next to me on the bed. "Mrs. Reese. I really love the sound of that."
"So do I." I leaned down and buried my face in her neck. "I especially loved how you demanded that I call you that last night during our hours and hours of passion."
Harper tangled her fingers in my hair as she pulled me closer. "Our passion doesn't stop there. We have a plane to catch in a few hours. Then we're off to Bora Bora."
"That's right, princess. Sand, sun, and snorkeling awaits us." I rolled over onto my back and pulled her naked body on top of mine. I gripped her waist and lifted her just enough to enter her wet, warm body.
Her teeth bit down into her bottom lip as she started to ride me slowly. Her eyes darted to the right and she smiled coyly. "You know, the girls made a bet that you would tear that wedding dress off of me last night."
I glanced to her wedding dress that was hanging on the closet door. "Oh yeah? Well, I hope you won that bet." I rolled us over so I was hovering above her.
She wrapped her smooth legs around my waist and took me deeper inside her. "Why didn't you?"
I continued to make love to her with slow, lazy strokes. "I was tempted. Believe me, princess, I never wanted you more."
A deep moan climbed up the back of her throat when I hit the right spot. "So?"
My voice was a little more breathless now and it came out in short pants.
"I couldn't destroy that dress. Not the one you wore when you said 'I do', princess." I kissed her deeply and I felt her legs start to tighten around me. Her back arched. She was getting close. "That's what you were wearing when you became my wife. It needs to be saved."
She raked her nails down my back, confirming that in a few seconds she was going to come for me.
"You want me to wear it again don't you? Perhaps you even want to fuck me in that dress? Like the Greek God you are?"
Her words sent me over the edge. The moment I came inside her, I felt her tight channel grip me as she called my name.
Who knew married sex would be even better than break-up sex?
Not me.
One Hour Later
"Ready, princess?" I opened the hotel room door and held it open while I waited for my new wife.
Harper grabbed her purse and followed me out. "Yes. I'm ready. Is everyone downstairs already?"
We started down the hallway towards the elevator. "I just spoke to Nate. He said the only person besides us who isn't down there yet was—"
"Ollie?"
I frowned. "Uh, no, princess. Not Ollie."
Harper chuckled and gestured her head to the right. "No, Jackson. There's Ollie."
Ollie stepped out of his hotel room. Well, tip-toed was more like it.
"Hey," I called. "Are you coming down to breakfast?"
Ollie stared at us blankly for a few seconds. "Uh, no. Sorry. I have a plane to catch."
Harper nodded. "Oh, right. You're moving, aren't you?"
"Yeah. Work beckons." He glanced from me to Harper. "Congratulations again you guys. It was a pleasure meeting you."
"Likewise," I said back to him. "Thanks for coming."
Ollie waved goodbye over his shoulder before disappearing down the hall. I started to follow after him when I realized my wife wasn't next to me.
"Princess? What is it?"
She was staring at the door that Ollie had come out of. "Wait a minute. This is the wedding party floor. That wasn't Ollie's room. It's—"
Once again, the door opened. This time Jamie came out. Her eyes went wide when she saw the pair of us. "Harper! Jackson!"
She ran her hands over her clothes and hair. No doubt she was trying to make it look like she wasn't just rolling around in bed with a certain coffee addicted artist.
Jamie's response had her stumbling over her words. "I was just on my way down to meet you for breakfast."
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Well, well, well. You little sneak." I snapped my fingers. "No! You're more like a—a nymph."
"Jackson," Harper warned, "leave her alone. If she wants to sleep with Ollie, then it's none of our business." Harper leaned in closer to Jamie and lowered her voice. "Did you? You know...sleep with him?"
"No," Jamie said a little to quickly. "I didn't sleep with him."
"Liar," I teased. "You're a little lying nymph."
Jamie gave Harper a pleading look. "He's going to call me that from now on, isn't he?"
"Probably."
"Whatever," Jamie sighed. "Can we just go downstairs, please? Everyone is waiting for us."
She walked past me and Harper and I fell in step behind her.
"Sure thing. Nymph."
Harper chuckled and shook her head. "Jackson, stop it."
I decided to be a smart man and listen to my wife. So the three of us took the elevator downstairs where our friends were waiting to meet us for breakfast.
The hour-and-a-half spent laughing and talking with those closest to us was an added bonus to our amazing wedding.
Nate teased me relentlessly about being a married man now. I delightfully pointed out that he was probably going to be next since Karma caught Harper's bouquet at the reception last night. He didn't like that. Ayden continued to offer congratulations and ask me how it felt to be a married man. To be honest, it felt right. It felt so fucking right.
Harper and the girls whispered and gossiped at the other end of the table. Gwen decided she wanted to stay in New York until she was going to meet Harper, Ryan, Danielle, and I for our Europe trip. Even though I didn't ask, I knew it had everything to do with that Norbert guy. I kept my promise to Harper, though, and didn't make a fuss of it. Although, it did make me feel better that Gwen promised not to bring Norbert to our apartment while she stayed there.
Little wins, I guess.
After we said goodbye to our friends, Harper and I caught an Uber to JFK. As the driver continued to stop and go through the busy streets, Harper reached over and laced her fingers with mine.
"Excited?" I asked curiously.
"Are you kidding me? Two weeks in Bora Bora? Just the two of us? I can't wait."
She pressed her lips against mine and I sank into the kiss. I would never get tired of kissing her. In fact, I didn't even realize how heated the kiss got until I heard the driver clear his throat.
We both pulled away and Harper chuckled. "Sorry about that."
The driver waved Harper's apology away. "No problem. Newlyweds?"
Harper and I looked at each other.
"We got married last night," she explained with a beaming smile.
The driver made a right turn onto the highway. "I can tell. You two look very right together. And happy." He merged into the traffic. "How did you guys meet?"
I laughed and squeezed Harper's hand. "That's a long story, mate."
The car slowed and the driver looked at me in the rearview with a side smile. "Traffic's a bitch today. Looks like we've got plenty of time to hear the story."
I looked at Harper. "Well, princess, where shall we begin?"
"How about at the very beginning?"
I chuckled deeply before looking back to the driver. "Well, it all started with a tryst..."
"It did not start with a tryst!" Harper objected.
I held up my hands in surrender. "You're right, princess. Why don't you tell the story?"
"Fine," she quipped before turning back to the driver. "It started one night at a bar called Down the Rabbit Hole. I was there drinking and I was upset. I met Jackson and we talked a little before—"
"The tryst," I interjected.
"I give up." Harper shook her head and smiled up at me. "He's right. What was supposed to be a one night tryst turned into a lifetime together."
I brushed my lips against hers. "Forever, princess."
