Chapter 2: Running
Barry walked quietly back to his room, Kate in tow. "What's wrong?" she asked. She was only 9, and didn't understand, but Barry wasn't about to tell her his plan.
She would tell Len, and Len would stop him.
That couldn't happen.
Barry couldn't afford that.
He couldn't afford more heartache.
...
Barry packed Kate's bag as well as his own that night. He couldn't risk waiting another day, seeing as how Len would expect that.
He had to act now.
So he made sure he wasn't forgetting anything important, and he and Kate left Len's house, and never looked back.
...
Len couldn't sleep. He was scared. What if Barry left him? Could Barry forgive him? What about Kate's custody? Would he have to go to court? But he couldn't go to court, so where did that leave him?
He had no idea, and he didn't want to find out. He heard some quiet noises, but he didn't think anything of them until he started to hear low voices.
"-It's ok," he heard Barry whisper. "-running away?" he heard Kate ask. He panicked.
He heard Barry lift up something heavy, (Probably suitcases) and carry them to the door. He ran out of his covers, but he ended up tripping on them, and he ran toward his door, but he was too late.
Barry was gone, and he had taken Kate with him.
...
Barry ran through his old neighborhood as fast as he could without superspeeding. He didn't know where he could go. He couldn't go back to his family, The Legends disbanded, and The Rogues would be the literal opposite of where he would want to go. He sighed.
Wait.
What if he went to another Earth? They would think of that for a while, and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to figure out which Earth it was.
It was genius.
...
Len couldn't believe it. He had lost everything. His family, his husband, his daughter.
He didn't even care if the police found him now.
...
Lisa and Mick were searching for Len. They had to help him escape the clutches of Len before it was too late.
Problem was, they already were. They went to a coffee shop, Jitters, and they saw him immediately. He stuck out like a sore thumb. He looked down at his coffee with disgust, his eyes were empty, and his hands shook.
Mick and Lisa shared a look. They both were thinking the same thing:
They would get revenge.
...
Iris, Joe, Caitlin, and Cisco sat at a bar, slowly sipping a cocktail. They hoped being drunk would provide answers, but they figured it probably wouldn't.
They didn't know what to do. Barry could run from them before they could do anything, and before they found him. He wasn't wearing his suit, so there couldn't track him, and his boyfriend was a master at blending in.
They had no hope.
Or, at least, they didn't.
Until said boyfriend and friends walked into the bar.
...
"Lisa? Mick? Snart? What are you doing here?" Cisco asked drunkenly. "Well, you were hoping you would team up," Lisa countered. Mick nodded. "We need to find Barry, and you know him best, so how do we find him?"
Iris pointed at herself. "We have no idea. And even if we did, we wouldn't be able to catch him. So, go."
Lisa snorted. "Yeah, your real convincing considering the fact that you're drunk," she said, this time full on laughing. Mick and Snart quickly joined her.
Soon, everyone was laughing. "Fine," Joe surrendered, "We'll help you, as long as you help us get my son back."
...
Barry remembered how Zoom had created a breach. Afterwards, he had watched a video and spent days trying to master it.
He hadn't been able to.
But now, he thinks he can. Zoom always said the best motivator is anger. And pain. And Barry was both.
...
He looked behind him. Kate looked back, and Barry could tell she was absolutely terrified. He didn't blame her.
"Daddy?" she asked quietly, "What's going on?" Barry quickly thought of a lie.
"We're going on a vacation," he said. She looked at him suspiciously. "Then why isn't Daddy coming with us?" (Phrasing)
Damnit. Barry had forgotten how smart she was.
"Uh..." he said. Kate looked at him. "I know that you were fighting, Dad. I just want to know why we're leaving him behind."
Barry looked her right in the eyes. She tried to pretend she was younger, and she always seemed like she was five. She wasn't. She was nine, almost ten.
She deserved to know.
"Len cheated on me," he admitted. Kate gasped. "I'm so sorry," she said, and started to rub Barry's back. He gently moved her hand. "It's not your job to feel sorry," he said sadly.
"We're going to go away for a while, ok?" Barry asked. Kate nodded.
Barry created a breach, and he and Kate walked through it to Earth 49.

Note: Sorry it takes so long to update! Really! And I honestly am not trying to make it as fast as it is. I do have a plan for this story, and we are really close to a main moment.
Enjoy!!!
