glimpse of grief

we all walk together during the grieving stages
the crying, the screaming, and despicable rages
we stand in mourning with a pain due to loss
yet slowly you come to be fine
but at what cost?

of course, first comes shock
the chaos of your emotions running a mock

sadly, next is complete disbelief
denial of the obvious reasons to grief

some take the blame, some deal with anger
no matter which one, it's always a danger

after comes deals, an attempt to bargain
it all fades to black as your mind starts to darken

the black turns to blue as you fall to depression
your life and sanity you begin to question

don't worry, ways to be happy you shall test
trying new things and moving on for the best

and finally, months or years later, acceptance
the exquisite feeling of your new independence
blue turns yellow as you blithely come to terms
and happiness and joy you once again learn

this may have made you sad, even if only brief
but this was just only a glimpse of grief
