A/N: This chapter is focusing on mainly Atlas and his ties to Noah - The ones of which are unknown to Atlas. I thought I'd put this hear so you weren't confused as to why Evelyn isn't mentioned.

Noah and Atlas, two best friends torn apart by another's bad decision. That bad decision leading to the others near death. What could've possibly happened?

Flashback; April 2013; 15 Years Old

Atlas flung his arm around Noah's neck, scuffing his hair with the other, "Hey! Look who showed up to school today. Where have you been the past week?" Atlas said as he looked at Noah worriedly, "I was ill and didn't feel good." Noah answered blankly, no emotion whatsoever, Atlas just nodded and carried on walking, chatting to the other boys in their friendship group. Although their group was large, Atlas had always been closest to Noah, after all they basically grew up together having known each other since the age of 4.

However, Atlas didn't know one crucial piece of information; They were twins. Their mother decided to keep one and put the other one up for adoption after finding out she was having twins. Not because she didn't want twins, she was over the moon about that part, but because she and their dad couldn't afford two babies.

She ended up legally filing Atlas under the guardianship of her best friend, someone she knew would be capable of raising him, but also so she could keep contact with him. She chose to keep it hidden from atlas so he wouldn't feel unwanted, or unloved in any way, but telling Noah was her best bet at keeping them close, that's why Noah had been absent, he was scared he would hurt Atlas by accidently telling him. The only reason their mother got away with hiding it is because the two boy didn't look alike at all. Noah was slim and slender, naturally very pale and pink, Atlas however was very built, muscular and naturally very tan. You could say Noah was his mother double, Atlas was his fathers double.

Back to the school day that sealed the line of lies that never seemed to end. Noah distanced himself from Atlas, trying not to snap and blurt it all out when he was with him. Atlas, so innocent and unknowing, was getting more and more upset and hurt as the day progressed. Walking home that say was awkward, but was what caused Noah to disappear from Atlas' life. As they were walking Atlas' snapped, " WHY?! Why are you avoiding me? Why are you treating me like a stranger? Like I'm no one to you?" Atlas said, sobbing loudly. He fell to his knees as he became weak with pain, "Why, why, why?" he whispered. Noah tried to hold back the urge to reveal everything, tried so hard, but ultimately failed, "We're brother Atlas. Mum didn't want you to know in case you'd feel unloved, or unwanted, but I don't see how you would." Noah said with his head down.

Atlas took a minute, then looked up, "I-I don't wanna be here anymore. Life at home is getting harder and harder, ad now I know why. My own mother didn't want me, she doesn't even try to want me. I'm leaving tell our mums I'm gone." Atlas stuttered out between sobs, grabbing his fallen bag and dusting his knees, he looked and Noah and then turned away and ran off. Noah tried to grab Atlas but it was too late, he was already in the middle of the busy road; Lying flat and almost lifeless - Atlas had been hit, he didn't look and just ran, not caring what would happen. "NO! No no no no! What do I do? Someone HELP!" Noah screamed, trying to save Atlas. Eventually paramedics arrived after a woman called for them, Noah chose not to go and let the woman who called go, he decided that he would disappear, he didn't know where to but he was going to disappear.

3 Months Later; July 2013

Noah has been gone for 3 months now. He heard Atlas was healing and he was happy about it but wasn't planning on returning. Atlas had lost complete memory of that day, even the moments before, but he'd also lost memory of who the people in his life were, so even if Noah did return, Atlas wouldn't know him.

Noah still showed up for school, he was staying with a friend who his mum didn't know, his excuse was he was kicked out and they didn't want to be contacted about his whereabouts. I mean, his parents never tried to look for him anyways, so maybe going missing meant peace to them. This is when life started going downhill.

Noah became the player, the bad guy, the bully. He placed his pain on others, tossing himself about desperate girls in attempt to feel wanted, rebelling in order to feel in power. He did anything to feel a little bit better about himself, but no one thought it would lead him to obsessive thoughts and wants.

3 Years Later; 2016; 18 Years Old

Noah had become obsessive with being in control. All his relationships ended with the girl leaving, and him going psycho. However, this was different. After the girl left him, he tracked her down. Robbing her house in the middle of the night, stabbing both her and her mother multiple times, which he simply called it "A Lesson." Both survived, the mum left with a few breathing complications, but he got off because there "wasn't enough evidence" for police to charge him with. The judge simply gave him a warning.

4 Years Later; 2020; 22 Years Old

He met Evelyn, he kept his controlling self out of the relationship, but that doesn't mean he put everything else into it. He cheated, he found another girl to control, to satisfy the needs Evelyn couldn't or wouldn't.

After sometime, he grew bored of Evelyn, she was merely a girl to him, so he ran away. He thought disappearing would hurt her less, but he didn't know it would change her to become the person he wanted. Being open, more accepting, and most of all she became more beautiful. So he returned.

When he saw Atlas the rage in him grew. He questioned everything. Why did the world treat Atlas so well, giving him everything he ever wanted without hesitating. Atlas got the girl he wanted, the job, the family, the life, everything; but Noah? He got the crumbs. He got whatever Atlas left.

He was going to make his life a living hell, he would do anything to tear them apart, test their relationship, test their strengths and weaknesses, test their trust and love; whatever he could push and pull at he wold try. Even if he was locked up, he would find a way to set flames between them.
