RECAP:

She pulls out an envelope, checks inside, then hands it to me. I give her my number then walk away as if nothing happened.

WE CONTINUE.

I head to my locker and open it, then open the safe I keep inside. I put the money inside, close the safe, grab my swimsuit from my backpack, and head to the locker rooms. I wait for the bell to ring, then head inside and start changing. 

Once I'm in my swimsuit, I head out to the pool area and sit down on the edge, waiting for the other students and the teacher to arrive. I wait for a few minutes, then people start trickling in. Jeremy sits down next to me and a girl named Camila sits down on my other side. The teacher walks in and starts telling us what we're doing and what we need to do to pass. 

We start working on our forward stroke and breaststroke. After a while, I'm tired, so I sit down and take a rest. A couple of seconds later, someone pushes me into the pool. I'm startled, so I don't have time to react. I tense up and wait for the feeling of the water. It never comes, but when I try to breathe in, it's just water. I'm sinking, I know that much, but I don't know if my body will let me swim back up. I feel everything going dark. I black out.
