"Ready, Jakurou?" You asked, hooking your fingers under it. She knelt down where the woman was and nodded.

"Ready."
With a hefty grunt, you began to pull the building up from the ground. You couldn't lift it very high, but it was high enough for her to easily pull out the injured. Painfully, you set it down gently as to not set off a chain reaction.

"Broken leg and a concussion. She'd be so dizzy she wouldn't be able to walk."
With a sigh, you deactivated your quirk.

"I'm sure there's been a med station set up by now. Take them to wherever that is." You gently helped the woman up the same time Jakurou changed into a bird. You gently laid her over her back and walked over to the man.

"Let's go. We're gonna get you guys some help." You hauled him onto her back as well.

"I'll be back," she said before taking off from the ground. You ran in the other direction, activating your wolf quirk to sense others nearby.

"Help! Please, help me!"
You took off in that direction. You slid to a stop at a mountain of rubble. At the top, crushed between to walls of rock was a child.

'Of course it's always a child.' You thought bitterly.

"Are you okay?!" You called up, "Is anything stuck?!"

"My legs are crushed between the rocks! I can't move!" She called back down. You sighed. You looked at the pile of rubble.

'I can't crawl up it. What if it collapses? Then we're both dead.' You looked up at the sky and saw the sun shining brightly.

'Perfect.'

You flew up into the air and over the child's head. You held out your hand.

"Here, grab my hand and stay still," you ordered. She followed it and clasped her tiny hand in yours. You raised your leg and slammed it down. The one wall cracked under the pressure. The rest of the pipe tumbled after in a cloud of dust. The child was now dangling in the air. You picked her up bridal style.

"Are you okay? How are you legs?" You asked.

"I can't feel them," she replied, tears in her eyes.

"I'll get you some help," you assured, flying over the field. You saw an area closest to the wall where others were gathered. You descended down onto the ground and deactivated your quirk. You gently set her down.

"Wait here. Help will be here soon."
You stood up. An explosion to the right caught your attention.

'An attack?!' You thought, quickly running away when a medic arrived. When you got closer, you noticed someone standing over the broken wall.

'Gang Orca!' You recognize him from TV and news. He's currently at number ten. His little minions ran down the debris.

"Villains have appeared and started their pursuit! Hero candidates at the scene should continue their rescue efforts while also suppressing the villains." Gang Orca followed his minions. You were the first to act.

You took out the first wave of them before they could react. You spun around and kicked one of them into the wall. Above you came a screech. You looked up and saw Jakurou with three more bystanders on her back. The minions also spotted her and jumped into the air.

With all of your might, you jumped into the air and kicked all of them down into the ground.

"Not good enough."
That voice...

His hypersonic wave connected with your scream. It clashed. You still felt some of his attack and he felt some of yours. When the attacks faded, you maneuvered away and landed on the ground, head vibrating. You powered through it, jumping away when he used his quirk again. The minions around you ran at you again.
Before you could take them out, red-hot Fire blasted down and took out most of them. You looked up and saw Jakurou returned.

"Let's go! We need to help the evacuation team," she said, offering a wing for you to climb on.

"Ugh, fine," you replied, hopping on. With a powerful flap of her wings, she ascended into the air and flew over the civilians.

You stood up and allowed your shadow to be cast onto the ground. It combined the others, letting them float into the air.

"She seems to be doing well," Psychotica said, sat down high in the bleachers.

"Heh," Megumi laughed, "I wonder what would happen if she found out that I killed Author."

"Her mind will break," Psychotica replied immediately, "Her psyche cannot take another split."

"What do you think she'll do from here?"
Psychotica shrugged, crossing her arms.

"Who knows. It's a miracle she's still able to function with her mind in shambles."
Psychotica leaned forward, eyes watching the phoenix.

"She seems... familiar," she said, eyes narrowing. Megumi followed her gaze.

"What about her?"

"... I don't know." She leaned back. "Just seems weird. I don't recognize her from any schools in Japan."

"Perhaps she's a transfer," Megumi suggested.

"... maybe. Who knows."

The man stood hidden within the shadows. Hood pulled over his face, he pressed himself against the alley wall when he heard footsteps approaching.

"Who goes there?" He spoke, hearing the steps fall into silence.

"You're not the guardian of back alleyways," came her curt reply. She began to walk past his hiding spot. His arm shot out across her chest, halting her movements.

"Do you know the girl named Y/n L/n?" He asked.

"How can I not? It seems she's causing trouble at every second of the damn day." The woman sighed. "But everyone knows her. What's it to you?"

"I heard she went missing."

"Everyone hears a lot of things. Besides, I don't think you should be preying on girls like a creep." She pushed his arm out of the way and continued walking.

"She's the key to stopping all of this," he said, "I must find her."
The woman stopped.

"... stopping all of what, exactly?"

"This petty game of cat and mouse."
